Ive always walked 'toe to heel' and I can confirm it is hard to find pants (I can't wear jeans)
However it does have it's benefits, I make no noise when i walk.
Im also 6ft 8 and there is nothing funnier than when i enter a room and someone doesnt hear me enter, They turn around and suddenly they see a giant looking down at them, They almost have a heart attack... lol.
I never do it on purpose but it is funny when it happens.
Ive actually had friends that ive accidentally surprised so much they want me to wear a bell like a cat.
The reason it doesn’t cross British minds to unhook the ropes is because even if the line is empty, if you unhook them, the staff will literally just send you back😂😂.

@@Niki-mp8qe my stepdad legit got sent to the beginning of the ropes, even though we were basically the only people in the entire terminal, because he undid the rope and walked through 😂

I have worked with Airports on passenger flows. There are 2 Immigration/Custom philosophies they use. The most efficient and fastest method is straight lines to each Immigration Counter the other is the S Snake system that makes everyone walk a lot more and wait longer. The Snake system also means that every passenger that hesitates when it is their turn is added to the entire queue. Airports use the Snake system so they have more time to evaluate passenger behaviour looking for unusual tells.
As an Aussie that worked for CX an KA, yep. Did Australia before and now in the US that and suffered working Dubai based before and it's FUCKING infuriating even in the crew line. The Belarussian beauties glide through, while locally based FOs get the Men In Black treatment. It's always on the return leg from a block as well.

Just to balance all those negatives about Americans, you do have an endless almost infectious enthusiasm, a boundless almost dogmatic drive and optimistic that makes you get up again when things go wrong, and in business you don't see a disaster as a failure, you see it as a learning experience... Now that's positivity... It's also why Brits and Americans work well together, because whilst Brits are keeping you grounded, Americans are constantly grasping for something just out of reach. Indomitable spirit and slightly delusional but constantly striving (as a generalisation of course).

It seems like walking has evolved in the last 20 years which means I now don’t walk correctly
I walk stood up straight, looking where I’m going. No, it seems you must be hunched over, not looking where you’re going with a mobile phone in your hand. Had to go to the doctors after a head injury and they make you walk up and down The hallway and he kept saying no walk normally relax your shoulders. Eventually, my girlfriend said this is exactly how he walks which surprise the doctor. he said it is very rarely you find somebody that walks house, they should walk, stood straight up and they’re now getting a lot of teenage people with back and neck problems they put that down to the mobile phone

When I was a kid I used to have to go to a clinic every 2 weeks for corrective walking with a condition the doctors called walking at 10 to 2 basically it meant when you walk your feet point outwards they fixed it after me going for treatment over a 2yr period
