Watch him talking about the bus breaking down in the snow and everyone having to walk home from work. It's soooo funny and having experienced it it was so true. 😂😂😂
Heard that back in the 1960s British F1 star Graham Hill went to race at the Indy 500. He was shocked to see that the toilets at the racetrack had no doors. He said to the organisers that if it wasn’t fixed he wouldn’t race. By the next day it was all sorted.
Loved your reaction! The video „Why Do People With The Same Name Spell It Differently - Michael McIntyre“ is very funny as well. Unfortunately quite short, but very funny!
It looked like you were a bit unsure about the word "loo". It originates from Edinburgh at a time when there was no indoor plumbing and people used to throw waste water out of the window on to the street. To warn passers-by they used to shout the warning "gardyloo" which was a corruption of the French "gardez l'eau" meaning "mind the water". It susequently got shortened to "loo" and its meaning gradually changed to mean toilet.
@@Loki1815 He's correct, the French and Scots were part of the Auld Alliance in the 1300's against the English, so there's a few French phrases used by Scots.
The majority of schools definitely have faculty bathrooms but they’re not always the most convenient. In my experience they tend to be smaller (either a single toilet or 2-4 stalls if your lucky) and only in a few locations. So it’s not uncommon for staff to use the student bathrooms because it is closer/easier than walking to a teachers only bathroom that might be on the other side of the building
Teachers will only have their dedicated toilets, within a staff area/room. Other than that, there’s nothing really stopping them using the toilets. Provided they’re the correct gender, for that toilet (obviously).
In Sweden the public toilets usually have doors that goes from floor to ceiling. There are the stall versions too with gaps by the floor, but they are not as horrible as in the US. We also don't have those weird seats you've got with the piece missing in the front... Those are really disgusting and I don't understand the purpose of it at all!
I think that the bit missing from those toilet seat are to enable people to slide on a protective cover - so that they don't have to sit on the actual seat. Now, I heard this some years back so it might be an urban myth.
He is talking specifically about toilets at services, places where you can stop off when driving on the motorway (or highway to Americans) to buy food, drink and sometimes petrol (gasoline), rather than public toilets in general in the UK, which you will do well to find one these days, especially here in London. Perhaps some of these service places are American owned franchises and so the design of everything is the same as it is in America.
I commented on one of your videos ages ago, with (what I thought to be) some poignant positive critique about the audio quality -mostly that Jodi was being drowned out by Nick's laughing and a simple solution would be to move the mic closer to her. Also to turn up the content volume which was much lower than your mics. To which you guys responded as me being some kind of a trollish ranter and then being ignored for it... Never mind, no harm done. I am happy to report now, that the audio quality here is much much better :) Well done! I no longer have to ride my volume controls trying not to wake people up in the next room :) :)
I heard the US toilet door thing is for safety, aka people getting stuck and so someone can get in and help. Here in AU a lot of public toilets have pretty good doors, they go from about 10-20cm from the floor and high enough you can't peek over. Some of the gaps on the sides are cut at angles, I'd say about 45 degrees, so you can't see directly in. I love the Dyson airblade hand dryers, so effective and I know they're loud but they work tremendously well. Urine is 90-95% water, peeing in the ocean in no big deal IMO.
I admit again, I was wrong I avoid watching him on tv yet I've enjoyed every skit you've shown to date. I don't know why he just makes my teeth itch, imo?
12:50 You know those fish that eat the dead skin from your feet in salons? The same thing happens when you take a dump in the ocean. It's a feeding frenzy and it feels like a free spa day!
I can't understand the gaps at the side of your public toilet doors, but I can understand the big gap at the bottom. That will be for a child to get out if they can't unlock the door. But most locks now, have a way you can stick a skinny coin in the lock on the outside & unlock it.
Not sure if they still have them but I went to Russia in the early 80s and they actually had a window in the cubicle door and the attendant could walk up and down keeping an eye on you. Most disconcerting 😂
You should check out the clip 'Kevin and Perry Go Large - It's a Floater' There's a scene when they are in the sea having a conversation much too loud because they're wearing headphones playing loud music. Perry announces loudly that he's going to pee in the sea and everybody on the beach is watching. He farts and a massive turd floats up and starts chasing them and heads straight for Kevin's face. They used an R/C turd for the scene, it's disgusting but hilarious, Jodi would scream!

That can't be right! Every toilet door manufacturer in the US, China, Asia as a whole, decided, back in the 50's, to make toilet doors narrower, to catch one shoplifter out of 100 users who would be inconvenienced (no pun intended). I reckon, keep up on this this because as Mike would say, It's a Doosie, Public Toilet Door Manufacturers in the States, in the 60's had a massive stock pile of doors made, for future use, the realisation came that Muricans could no longer fit in the toilet stalls due to the increase in Muricans Girth, so the stalls had to be wider, still with me?, so they extended the small connection pieces to make them wider but used the same doors that were in storage, which were too narrow, but who cares, it's only a 1/4", little did they know that the Muricans girth was going to expand along with their hubris. So they made the connecting pieces longer and kept the same doors, so that it was now a 1/2" gap that was ok for a while but they had to keep expanding the width to a full 1" gap each side, to accommadate Police Chiefs, Mayors, Politicians and the like, and the gap got bigger, and bigger, so that it is now a weirdo's paradise! Now, that's more likely than Shoplifters or malingerers!
In the UK we are now closing down public toilets, as British people no longer poop or wee, after it was outlawed last year, in favour/favor of pills to suppress the need to use toilets, and once a month we have it all flushed out by the national heath care, with a hose up the entry. I think that the reason behind much public toilet vandalism is the primitive instinct of some people to sent mark. They have gone into a cubicle, and taken a dump, thus sent marking like a dog, then to prevent any one else leaving their sent mark, they vandalise it.
The US toilets have to do with drugs & overdoses. In the UK it’s council’s easy way to save money, also might of had to do with the IRA back in the 70’s.
The gaps are to make you want to get in and out as quickly as possible instead of taking your time and reading the paper or other "activities". If you think the public toilets in the US are bad Jodi will have a heart attack if you ever go to India.
