Man, Sandi is so sharp. She's so quick. xD
When it comes to singing, Josie always delivers.
Josie just saved his ass in theather styles! What a crude block!
the girls are amazing!
"I'll just fetch the plunger...!"
Josie: You got a cigarette?
Arthur: Yeah, but you're not allowed to smoke on TV.
Also, I like Josie's gangster accent.
i like how it doesnt matter if you're doing a real or fake pantomime, the british audience will always respond
i love Mike McShane. i wish he was in more of the new ones. he was great in robin hood: prince of thieves!
I guess nobody told him that "yes, and.." is the golden rule of improv :/
This is a great episode with a top one-off appearance by Arthur Smith. Gotta love the Film & Theatre Styles between him and Josie, and of course Mike and Sandi :o)
I really laughed myself silly at both those F&TS especially at Mike and Sandi's. They really are a match made in heaven :o)
You're not allowed to smoke on TV...unfortunately....unless you're Peter Cook
xD
oh my god smith is seriously good. never seen josie crack up on stage like taht before HAHA awesome.
A little tidbit about Arthur and Josie - Arthur wrote Josie's opening monologues for her short-lived Channel 4 TV series in 1991.
"Two fingers won't make me remember" and "You're not allowed to smoke on TV". Talk about being a spoilsport.
I wish Josie had more appearances in the US series!
I love Arthur Smith... :D
haha its so good im going to watch it again :p
I miss John Sessions. He wasn't the funniest, but I think he had a certain charm to him.
Arthur = Legend
That's basically what Tony Slatterly (sp?) did on the show. I think it's work well now, but with the increasing censorship, may be hindered.
"Two fingers won't make me remember!"
Wow...Clive really wanted to give Sandi and Mike a hard time in FaTS. XD
Actually Stephen Fry smoked a cigarette on this very show in the first season
@Ikonicre Agreed. And so is Mike.
That's kind of breaking the number one rule of Improv honestly. xD
god i wish they put this show back on...imagine it with some of the good new american comedians and the newer brit ones like say david mitchell, vic reeves, frankie boyle, etc
Goddess among men at it.
Except Frankie Boyle probably wouldn't work that well - he's just good at doing ironically offensive quips.
1:26 Arthur is block, block, block.
I miss John Sessions... ;_;
Me too. The show took an eventual downturn after he left after it just became full of Americans
Early Judas Priest and Sabbath were very much like that, albeit a bit heavier.
But I read one comment on another video saying that he wasn't very much liked by his colleagues, because he would bore everybody with his monologues.
@crebegea
When was Arthur mean??
He should've been on it much more, but he was always be a bit anarchic on anything he went on. Exhibit A the 2 times we was on HIGNFY. Very funny man though
I like how Clive apparently doesn't know what Heavy Metal is (in another show he thought Jimi Hendrix was a rhythm and blues artist). Do they not call it Heavy Metal in the UK or is Clive just um... not very hip?
jimi hendrix is not heavy metal, love. ;)
but without him, there would be no genre as such. heavy metal owes a lot to jimi.
@orientalgreenfinch
Arthur was kind of mean to Josie there.
And can't improvise, just shoehorns his stand-up into anything he's on
these haircuts.
Hahah that intro didn't age well
i dont like sandy so much ,i think she speaks so fast and always push situations on the others so they have to follow her ....she might make people laugh but not so inteligent in creating situations .mike always incredible as always,you should see what dan paterson said when they saw him the first time for audtion of whose line
