Whose Line UK 2x05 (1/3)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 кві 2008
- Ryan Stiles, Sandi Toksvig, Tony Slattery, John Sessions
Authors - The story is "A Shopping Trip to Buy Moby Dick," with Ryan as Cosmopolitan, Sandi as Ed McBain, Tony as a Sunday color supplement gadget catalog, and John as Virginia Woolf.
Tag - Ryan and John start; Sandi and Tony enter later.
Expert - Tony interviews Ryan, an expert on frogs.
The man, the myth, the legend. This is the start of Ryan Stiles.
"Ruthlessly -- what the hell had happened to Ruth" hahahah.
This episode really shows how truly tall Ryan is, compared to later and US episodes, where the main cast is 6 foot and up.
Especially weird when he stands next to Sandi, who's under 5ft (I think..)
Loved how Ryan & Tony played off each other in Expert
"Ryan Stiles, from the Second City Theatre company, who is very very tall." There was even a tall joke in his first introduction. Oh my god.
It's great that they placed Sandy with Ryan- as they're pretty much the smallest and the tallest players ever on the show.
I love how they both kept trying to make it more difficult for the other one to do something ridiculous. It reminded me of the Film Noir where Colin and Ryan kept passing off the job of making sense of the scenario to the other guy.
I love the Tony/Ryan chemistry here!
Also love the little "I think we leave them here" bit at 10:15
Random!
Sandi's "Authors" was brilliant.
I just love Ryan Stiles. He has the best outfits especially his shoes and he always dresses so nice. If I ever meet him, I'll die from happiness.
Tony is so dapper and gorgeous here
Who would have thought the first words Ryan would ever say on whose line would be "I'm going for a... kind of an author of a cosmopolitan magazine type thing."
lol
Man, Tony was *_determined_** to try* & trip Ryan up here, wasn't he? I wonder if they'd worked together before that Tony had such confidence he could keep up with Ryan.
Ryan turnde the frog dance _and_ the Kissinger marriage back on Tony. But Tony kept plugging away.
now it's when i notice that without ryan this show would have never been what it is today. Thank you Ryan
oh I'm so glad right know that I'm not the only one who loves Ryan's hair :D
Damn, it's crazy to see Ryan and Sandi standing next to one another.
Thus the legend of Ryan Stiles begins...
'He walked on ruthlessly. What the hell had happened to Ruth' XD.
haha, "ruthlessly, what the hell happened to Ruth."
Tony was suspiciously enthusiastic to jump into that position
In a great feat for a newcomer, Ryan completely outsmarts Tony in Expert!
"I'm sorry John I ruined the whole party." lol that game of Tag was awesome. =)
I always love Tony in Authors. And by that of course I mean I always love Tony in anything...plus he makes one heck of a team with Ryan!
I've been watching them from the first and it looks like it is his first time. I'm surprised Greg Proops came before he did!
Sandi quickly became a favorite in this episode.
Quick fact: Ryan is older than Tony so they both looked really young. They were about 33 here. I think Tony is especially cute here.
Ryan and Tony! LOL!
I think that there is honestly nothing Ryan Stiles can't do....
I love Ryan Stiles so much. He wears such great oufits and he always looks nice. If I ever meet him, I'll die from happiness.
"OK, I'll lower the side of the cot"
Wow, that was dark from Sandi
A lesson for Clive Anderson: Never let John Sessions anywhere near anything remotely related to English literature or history.
Also, notice Sandi standing next to Ryan!
yay! Ryan and Tony, two of my top fave people ^^
Wow Ryan AND John both o Whose Line at the same time, Brilliant!
Yes, Greg was on twice in season two before this episode! I was surprised to see him pop up (and he was pretty good from the start, too).
It was episode 1 and... Maybe 3 or 4? I've been going through them all so it can be hard to remember.
Yes I love the two of them trying to catch each other out! ^.^;;
"And of course, a penis that not only mows the lawn and changes the baby..."
Oh, Tony! What would the show do without you? :)
Ryan is actually canadian, or at least he spent a while living in canada before he became big. He went to my friend's cottage before I was born and he spent the weekend chilling with my parents.
I can't stop looking at how tall Ryan is!!!
god...when ryan took off his jacket i think i almost fainted. that shirt looks amazing on him!!!...
oh, yeah, hilarious show, and all that ;)
And I now ship Tony/Ryan. Excellent!
Tony's joke at 4:21 literally made me spit out my drink back into the cup!
Cool! Ryans first show! in a mullet and i never knew they played freeze tag on whose line!
i've never watched alot of the earlier series of the uk version! good stuff!
I know what you mean- it's mad, he's about a foot and a half taller than her!
The Production Team must have tried to take advantage of this...
Flagfalls He said 'nowadays there's a cure for that.' I guess he was using a cheeky bit of word play!
Little lovely Sandi's debut too
Henry Kissinger was considered old in 1989. He died this year.
@Coshka77 i love when they stand up and we see clearly the difference of height between ryan and sandi
RYAN! NO FUNNY SHOES YET! Hahahah awesome he's in an all-black suit how handsome!
...I do believe Sandi did a Firesign Theatre "Nick Danger" reference there. ... Awesome.
Ryan is so tall that he made other contestance look like kids... LOL
He's got a duel citizenship I believe, because he was born in Seattle Washington, but moved to Canada when he was young. He lives in Washington again now.
I seriously could not agree anymore ^^
:D
jeez i miss this show
@BOWIEGIRL30 They play it on Drew Carey's Improv-a-Ganza. Never fails to deliver some good laughs - after all, at each of the 20 tapings (making up 40 episodes) it was the first game played. And it was a good way to get the partially-inebriated audience at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas in the mood for some improvisational comedy! :oD
Ryan Stiles is so good looking. I love his reddish hair and the little gap in his teeth, and his deep set eyes and his thin lips he's just gorgeous!
Tony said: and not only a p*^#$ that mowes the lawn, and changes the baby :
LOL!
Ryan's first episode!
Nearly twenty years ago.. Wow.
Am I the only one who thinks that Ryan is about the only man in the world who can pull off a mullet?
Lol, mondo mullet on Ryan.
"...but they can cure that now."
This is the very first show that Ryan was in, isn't it?
ryan's mullet...
Yeah Ryan!!!
Oh god ryan in a mullet
why is the opening a minstrel show?
Was this the first episode with him in it? Because I looked through youtube and it only has from 1x01 to 1x13 and then 2x01 to 2x04 has no Ryan but this one does
?
I find it funny just seeing Sandi and Ryan in a scene together because of how tall Ryan is and how not so tall Sandi is.
Erin
Day mullet.
Wow Ryan is so young :D
this is his first apperance yep :)
Ryan 25+ before comedy career starts. Ryan did fish cutting, then went to Second city "School for Comedy" The College of comedy. Not an English major, pre-law, civil engineering major, or biologist. Comedy All the way.
what year was this done?
Are Ryan and Colin both from Second City in LA or is Colin from The Second City in the Old Firehouse in Toronto?
also Tony the Parascope was awesome!
Greg Proops was on it before Ryan? I always thought it was Ryan first, ah well.
Holy crap Sandi looks so different.
7:55 Ryan and Tony joined at the pelvis? Yes please!
Lordy me, aren't they all young!
6:57 The letter h!!
great!
btw, doesn't anyone think that ryan looks a bit like hugh dennis?
i dunno
the crowd is so quiet
RYAN!!!!!!!!!
@ringpickupthephone everyone says:back off,he's mine
@KollaDudurin yes.
funny isnt it he looks so young
tony slattery
What's up with Sandi stealing from Firesign Theatre?
That blackface intro still creeps me the hell out...
Have Ryan Stiles?
it's called a mullet
@ErnieandBert1 P.S. "Please join me as you know it takes two!"
I agree with you. "Authors" seemed to be tailor-made for Sessions. But sometimes he would ramble on & on, making it very tedious. I also liked his wit & intelligence. I think people disliked him because he was too cerebral. It was the days before WLIIA became flooded with Americans.
no collin :'(
John Sessions epic fail in the Tag game.
yes kinda
John sessions? I don't get it.
Well, not the only person, as I am a woman, haha.
John Sessions looks sooo scary
What did Clive say after "My grandfather caught Moby Dick..."?
1988
if you're old.
Ryan does not look 29 or 30 here
