I once wrote a cookbook for my church fund raiser. I've written technical instruction manuals for work. Friends keep encouraging me to write up my family stories. Too much work! LOL!
I did start a petsitting company I called "Binki's Mom" while employed full-time in the technology business in California.
It was very successful as long as I worked by myself. One Thanksgiving, I made over $1800 for petsitting, mostly walking dog over 4 days.

You're coming up with sources that I never knew existed! My two main incomes are rent collected from my tenants. And investing. I managed to get a 32.89% return for the past year in the market, but flunked every math class above first year algebra in high-school.

You are one busy lady! Anyone is lucky to have you as an employee. I don't have a job now. After I quit my full-time job in my late 20s, I taught exercise lessons, was a babysitter, and later cleaned houses both for clients and for a real estate
company. I made the most money, by far, cleaning for the real estate company. Great video! Love to all, Linda 💕

I used to do product Demos from 1989-1992 when they paid about $6 more than minimum wage and paid up to 30 miles of driving. Now I feel it's not worth my time since the pay is so low..it's about Min wage and I have no desire to memorize any product on my own time. , Set up and do something different for 6 hrs or less per day. For the retired, I think it's great but we need more $ than that. It seems a great way to make extra $ and socialize a little for those who like it.

I have 11 income streams but more traditional descriptions.
Not are all jobs but investment streams and retirement income from a traditional job position. I keep searching for others.
Why? My answer: Why not?? It takes $ to continue to meet goals.
The Beta reader positions are interesting and I will research this. I read an average 2000 pages a month in doing research of huge texts for attorneys and accountants. Averages 66 pages a day and write a report. It’s fun for me!
I have deadlines but it can be completed in libraries or on my laptop at home. Many text are available online. I have a knack for locating the obscure. I am given questions to look for something specific. But I often find out that something is omitted. That is the obscure.
Working with writers would be great fun! Alpha readers are the writers and copy editing people. And an agent is an alpha reader. First readings.
Beta readers are ‘consumers’ or ‘end product’ readers. Fun!
Your list is amazing! I admire your efforts and keep going!
In a few days I will comment in your Social Security video. I understand why you will wait. I took mine at age 62. No regrets. But I am age 75 today! The economy was different 13 years ago.

    • @Stalwart-zy3oo
      @Stalwart-zy3oo 13 днів тому +1

      @JaneM:
I am retired now and have had a career long term. In today’s world, in my opinion, being flexible to meet our continued financial goals as prices keep going up and fewer resources are available to us, it is the ‘bottom line’ we each seek to get our needs met through jobs that are available now. The interview process, screening, drug testing, background checks takes 4-7 months. What do you do as you wait?
Traditional jobs with paid leave, paid healthcare, paid life insurance, retirement plans have shifted to the employee in all job sectors.
As I currently ‘work’ at age 75 as a business consultant 2-5 times a month, I know what financial costs are incurred for both corporations and small businesses to pay higher wages.
To get their needs met, they hire/schedule maybe more employees and pay no benefits. This is a real job market and not everyone can or is suited to do it. So the employee must be knowledgeable to establish their own savings, 401k, do their own investing, have knowledge of taxes.
I have employed experience from a different era where benefits were covered. But the paradigm shifted.
And part of You Tube is a huge outlet as jobs for many creative people, like Money Mom, to make $ and meet her family needs. She is flexible and very creative.
My background is very different and I have personal reasons to not start a YT channel. I do best talking directly to people quietly one-on-one. That’s my ‘gift’ and talent. It’s to help people explore and resolve their own issues. And you can.
Social media is the current venue. But the older established business format is where both my husband and I have flourished and still do.
I am not as flexible to try some of these positions. But I do know from the business model ideas that the paradigm shifted. We saw a major shift after WWI and WWII. Other times it shifted. And Covid 2020 year was another shift in the job market.
I would be interested in knowing your definition of what a real job is? Please share.
You are implying it is more traditional positions: attorney, doctor, teacher, police, fire fighters, many positions to list here.
But in 21st Century we see these positions changing.
Yet they are all paid jobs and fill the positions needed by the ones hiring.
In my opinion only, I am very interested in how Dawn manages her time so well. She is creative and flexible to try something new! I applaud her efforts. She has great organization skills to meet her deadlines. Her personality is outgoing. This suits her. And she manages her funds well, gets advice from her CPA, and moves forward.
Using myself as an example, I did well in a more structured environment. It would not suit me to deal with many personalities. I worked in large corporations only. I pursued that and my MBA was in demand.
And still is because I keep up. I may be a Senior, but this gives me experience that others have not had yet. I stayed engaged.
Today educators and universities are not matching students to the job market. It is disconnected. Universities have their own agenda.
Young people are not getting guidance in the work world maze. So we are seeing highly educated people, student loan debt, and under-employed people coming out of the university system.
Dawn has done a wonderful job to tap into her Texas market.
I live west. So she has given me ideas where to seek other answers.
I choose to continue to bring in more income this way. I am retired. My problem-solving capabilities did not stop just because I retired from one sector.
Skills transfer. And we all have more options available Today than we realize.
Thank you for your list, Dawn! Hope you read this.
      Stalwart (this word means loyal)
