    Simple Living
Decluttering is part of simple living for me. Living with less stuff makes life simpler in our house. However, simple living does not mean easy living. Simple living is about uncomplicating parts of your life. By decluttering, choosing your enough, and focusing intentionally on what matters most to you, a life of slow and simple living is possible.
    Slow Living
A slow living lifestyle is sometimes perceived as an antidote to the effects of that fast paced life. Slow living is about balancing the things you want to do WITH the speed of life. Slowing down and embracing slow living is not about getting the same amount of things done at a slower pace. Rather, slow and simple living is about finding balance and living better in our fast paced world.

So glad you are back ♥️. One day at a time, you are dressed washed and upright that’s a big achievement when depressed so your nightstand declutter is a bonus achievement and a sign you are turning a little corner. 💐🌈You are a trooper and I wish only the best for you. Xx See you next time thank you for the motivation 🇬🇧🤓

So good to see you again! For some reason, this video felt like you were right there talking to me - like a friend. I believe you (and Andy) have the best decluttering videos out there. You talk through your decisions and do so with consideration and even a bit of laughter! I will be looking forward to your videos and always know you are encouraging many people.

We have had anywhere from 1-4 people in our circle die each month since last November including my father in law in November and my mom in January just before my birthday. We also homeschool, which has been such a blessing with the flexibility. The overwhelm is at times unbelievable. My home has suffered for it. I have just started to get it back on track. My kids, 10, and 8 came up to me last night and said "is it ok if we declutter our room? It is too hard to keep clean and we can't really play with so much in there." Unbelievably mature of them. So we are taking today off of school lessons for some life lessons. We have decided to go on a full house cleaning tour. We will declutter as we go of the easy stuff. We have inherited several items so those need to be dealt with and decide if we are keeping them. My kids are going to make memory bins since they have so much stuff from my mom and father in law. Its going to be a day but i think its a day we all need. Loud music, laughing, maybe some crying. Definitely love your videos for a kick in the butt on things and your raw honesty. Thank you so very much.

Dear Erica, it is so wonderful to see how Andy is supporting you during such a sad time. It was lovely to see you decluttering together. Grief can be a series of waves and gradually you can get used to riding them, but you need to show yourself kindness and compassion, just as you would to someone else in your position. I’m so glad you have such a supportive husband and wonderful children who love you and bring you joy and comfort. ❤❤

Oh gosh Erica, I really appreciate you being honest about your feelings. It’s OK and perfectly understandable to have been feeling so sad and depressed this summer. I am just getting to accept the passing of my own mum who died at the end of last year, so I feel some of what you are going through too. Take care of yourself. You are doing just great. I am glad Andy is supporting you so well and I am glad to see you back making videos again. 🤗🫂

Oh the dump closet, we have an office/library/shoe room/junk room (when you say it fast it doesn’t sound as bad) that I promise every year to go through. Grief is hard and has no time limit. Continue being gentle, kind and patient with yourself. We are all here cheering you and your family on as you are us. Thank you. Looking forward to this new series. Have a great week. It was fun to see you and hubby do this video together. Love that decluttering decisions are so much quicker. It reminded me of when you moved and decluttered all those boxes and saw how difficult it was to make decisions to let go of items, especially for your husband. Tremendous progress.

I wish my husband would declutter with me. He is slowly realizing that there is just too much stuff in his spaces. I go thru my spaces fairly regularly and talk about the why and wherefores of the process, but he is just not ready. Sometimes I have to choke back remarks when the grand kids ask if they can leave something at our house and he starts to say, to me, that we already have too much stuff. You keep doing what you are doing. This is how things are for right now and your daughter will move past this phase. You are a blessing to each other. Hugs.

As you've shared little bits of your life, I've been so impressed with the sweet relationship you have with your children and your husband. The two of you are raising a beautiful family. How blessed you are to have such a supportive husband. It's very obvious how much he loves you. I'm sure he's been helpful to take up any slack necessary. I'm glad he encourages you to step back into activities that you enjoy. I'm happy to see you again. I pray God will bless you in your efforts, and fill your heart with peace.🙏🏻💗

As a kid I also was scared to sleep alone at night, I think it came from some deep fears, including fear of death, that I never really opened up about to talk with my parents. I recently came across a really good picture book that I think would’ve helped me as a kid to open a conversation about the scary feelings around being alone at night. The book is called “Why do we say goodnight” by Champ Thornton. Thanks for sharing this video with us, just this weekend I started cleaning my overwhelming clutter pile in my bedroom as well, life happens, we deal with it the way we can in the moment, and clean it up way later down the road. Thanks for encouraging us all to keep going, one minute at a time. You’ve got this Érica!!!

😢I am so sorry you are going through this. I am nearing the end of my grief journey with my grandparents, who lived with me. Decluttering to reestablish some control over my surroundings helps with managing my feelings. Unless I am doing their belongings, which is necessary but oh so painful. There is no timeline for grief; do what you need to do to process your feelings.

We are a Samsung family, too, so I feel your pain. Don’t google the song, it’s depressing… it’s been a rough summer for me, too, and the fall won’t be any easier. I checked yesterday to see if you had posted a video. I checked again today and I'm so glad you did. You are an inspiration and we're watching you getting through tragedies and showing us it's OK to not be OK but we need to get up and put one foot in front of the other. I'm so glad you're showing that we need to give ourselves grace.

The dumb closet is an excellent idea!! 😂 Unlike a junk drawer which has stuff that household members use, a dumb closet is both full of stuff that you use, and also stuff you don't know whether you want to declutter it or not..

From my experience it is a useful habit to make pictures of sellable items right away. Even if I don't come to making the ad right away, I can make it later and don't have to prepare everything again for a nice and realistic picture.
Keep up the good work! 🤗

Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Praying for you as you manage each new season of grief, and homeschooling (homeschooler here too!), and life in general. I’ve gotten behind on watching your videos but they were perfect for keeping me company as I got caught up on things on this rainy Saturday. I live not far from you so I know you have rain, too. I hope you and your family are having a good day.

My Samsung dishwasher sings when it is done. Take care Erica. I had to put my 15 year old family dog down last week. While driving home that day, the Lion King "Circle of Life" song popped into my head and played all the way home. Luckily it was a sunny day to wear sunglasses. Because I cried all the way home.

    Thank you so much.
