Perhaps try some home made fermented food that are less sour? Like freshly made yogurt are really not that sour and good for your gut! I agree! No health, no wealth!
Shocking that most of the foods to avoid mentioned here are the ones everyone recommends for a healthy diet. Are these recommendations meant as a temporary solution to get rid of eczema, or are these foods to be avoided forever, cause they will always trigger eczema? OK, after reading some comments, this is not meant as a permanent ban on those healthy foods. Let's try it. Oh, boy. Garlic, eggplant, beets, onions, radish, ginger, nuts, tomatoes, citrus fruits, kimchi. First, I will cut out the garlic, ginger, tomatoes, onions, which I eat frequently, and nuts. Thanks for this video!
Dawn how do we get iodine? I love the Pink salt but it is not a source of iodine. May I ask what form of Vitamin C is good for eczema? Much love and gratitude for your help Dawn. 🌹
I really appreciate your video and I'm sure it's gonna work, but sometimes it comes to mind the though: should I really stop eating all these foods? Is it worth? The most of them are so healthy (at least what they doctors say) and they are so tasty. Should I stop for instance eating tomatoes therefore tomato sauce, including soups, spaghetti, salads and all these meals that include tomato sauce? There are so many foods that I should avoid. It's weird and it's make me feel so sad. It also make me feel that I'm different from the other people. It's sounds kinda dramatic but I think that people with eczema know this kind of feeling. Anyway, I just wanted to say my thoughts and say a big thank you for supporting us and giving us hope :)
I KNOW! So many food with tomato and I actually love good quality tomato sauce. My approach has been this way, when I am not flaring up, I have it in social settings and maybe even cook some myself sometimes BUT as you can see with my recent vlogs, I have been doing too much "experimental" things eating the "no foods for eczema" and I am suffering from a lot of flare ups. Also because of stress from raising a toddler and lack of sleep. I get what you mean though but when I actually flare up, I think it is not worth eating them 😆😆😆.
I always say this after I discovered that I have eczema and some kind of histamine intolerant and autoimmune disease, that I feel like I can not eat anything anymore and everything is bad for me 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 my life is messed up
It can feel that way because change is very hard. It's not so much that there are no other things to eat but eating outside of what we are used to can feel very very challenging in the beginning. Stress will not help the problem. So try to take it one step at a time instead of thinking about changing everything overnight. I'll try my best to post as much as possible under my "Eczema" highlight on instagram and hope to make videos real soon to help with making easy recipes that hopefully give you more ideas. Take care for now and remember, you've got this! :)

Eczema can also be caused by damp food not just heat food. Fructose malabsorption can also cause eczema. My eczema cleared up avoiding fruit , fructose, sugar (damp foods), lactose also. On a diet high Cheese, nuts, meat , dark chocolate , oats and rice syrup and still clear skin, we’re all different
This video has been so helpful! I flared up from last saturday and it was because I drank hot chocolate and many vegan cheeses which are made of nuts.. it makes so much sense haha! Let's get back to clear skin again instead of dry and a little bit red :D
Hi Dawn good morning from Malaysia. Besides being very informative your videos are also very good for stress busters. If I may say so you have a very pleasant disposition n charming way of presenting. Keep it up. I believe that all autoimmune diseases including eczema results with a leaky gut.. Heal your gut and say bye bye to eczema psoriasis and all other autoimmune disorders. There are lists of food to eat/avoid available on Internet which can heal your gut. I healed my psoriasis by healing my leaky gut. Constipation, hemorrhoids, allergies, sugar cravings, junk food cravings all are signs of leaky gut. I hope this comment helps

You are right about kimchi.. I had the worse outbreak after eating kimchi... will I ever be able to eat these healthy fermented foods .. once the eczema goes away....
May I ask are organic raisins dates and watermelon ok to eat with eczema? Are cucumbers and avacado safe to eat with eczema? Thank you so much for your help and patience . Much love to you. 🕊💗💗💗
mm..coconut amino, some himalayan sea salt? Over time you may also learn to taste the true taste of something and your taste buds will become more sensitive :) You can also try cumin and other dried herbs that are cooling to the system :)
Garlic and onions are actually inmunoregulator food so unless you actually have an allergy to either of them they should be a fundamental part of your diet. Citrus also help boost the inmune system so they should be a part of your diet

@@dawnforlife If my daughter touches mango skin, and then touches her face she gets an itchy rash! She used to eat mango off of the skin and realized her lips were swelling and got itchy. If she eats peeled mango she's fine. What is on the outside of the skin, that is not in the fruit? Is this a natural allergen or pesticides possibly? Though we used to try to buy organic, now she avoids mangos altogether. Not worth the hassle. Cashews cause itchy skin as well, on me and my daughter. Are they really related to the poison ivy plant?
Hi Dawn. Are gluten free oats safe to eat? I have been having that with shredded coconut and a couple of chopped up prunes. What alternative milks are safe to drink? Oat milk? Thank you for your genuine interest in helping others. Much appreciated!
@@dawnforlife Thanks Dawn! Yes, I do soak the oats overnight and they are gluten-free and organic. Raw milk is a bit hard to get here, so I thought oat milk would be the safest option. I avoid soy/almond milk etc.
Eat gluten like oat, oat milk, or bread, is make eczema flare up. I don't understand. You said go ahead and use it. Go back and do research before do video..
Hey Beki, I'd suggest organic almonds soaked for 12 hours, rinse, blend and strain for creamy homemade almond milk. If that's difficult make sure to get organic almond milk with just water and almonds (no oil or preservatives/flavouring). Always in moderation when it comes to nut based items if you have eczema. :)
Hi im new to the channel, I found it interesting that you mentioned meat as being a poor food choice. Based on the paradigm shifting work of many researchers and medical doctors helping patients in supervised medical care, it appears the carnivore diet (meat based) has significantly ameliorated and in some cases fully resolved such autoimmune/inflammatory conditions such as eczema. Have you heard anything of this?
Hey Austin, no no no, don't get me wrong! hehe I'm not saying meat is a poor food choice. If you've seen my other vids or follow me on instagram, I always advocate for whole foods over processed foods and when it comes to meat, it is important to know where it comes from and how the animals were raised. Organic, free range, grass fed meat are very healthy, depending on our body type. As for my own experience, in terms of healing my eczema, I followed the Ayurveda way, where meat is categorised as "heating" and since eczema is also "heating", my experience of avoiding till it is cleared, helped me heal. At the end of the day, I think we have stick to what works to heal AND then it is important that we will heal to the level where ALL food groups can be in our diet without problems. Real food of course :)
Beef, lamb, reindeer and other red meats, as well as pork all make eczema worse. Alternatively, organic and free range TURKEY is shown by doctors trained in BOTH Chinese medicine and western medicine to be ok for people who have eczema. Definitely not cured turkey though - animal based nitrates and nitrites are problematic. (no immediate reference available, but I can look for one...) Whole-food, plant based diets are best. Check out nutritionfacts.org. Also not mentioned to be beneficial are true whole grains - not previously milled. When the fiber from whole grain reaches the large intestine (colon) they feed good bacteria (probiotic) in the most natural way. You don't need to buy probiotics, your body will do the job by itself. Again, check out Nutritionfacts.org.
@@dawnforlife Solid reply, I appreciate that you've taken the time to respond. What you said makes sense, I am new to the Ayurveda way. Thanks for clarifying.
Foods high in salicylates are bad for eczema. For example peppermint is very high in salicylates. I started drinking peppermint tea several months ago. Within a month I had a bad eczema rash on my right hand. I stopped drinking the peppermint tea and the eczema continued to subside until gone a month later.
Take neem leaves and put it in hot water fr 10 - 15 min then let it cool then take bath in it . ....i will try and let u know guyz they say neem tree leaves are very effective
There are many more food out there and if it doesn't cause more flare ups, you can totally have it in moderation and when you are healed, you can have them all again :) This is just a guideline from my Ayurveda knowledge. You find what feels good for your body. No hard rules. :)
Actually one citrus fruit, that is oranges actually help in treating eczema but if you eat it out of season it could trigger your eczema I'm not a professional or something but this is just from my experience and my doctors also say the same , plus I also googled it.
Vitamin C in citruses definitely helps our immunity and skin, if it does not trigger. I guess it makes a lot of sense since when in season, oranges are very sweet and very sour when not in season. :)
Hi Dawn , I just want to ask you do all types of eczema involve itchiness ? I ate a citrus fruit then applied a new lipstick, then my lips turned dry, scaly, swollen a little bit and hot 🥵 without itchiness!!! Is this eczema ?
Hey Naif, sounds like an allergic reaction. Most probably some ingredients in the lipstick that you are sensitive to. I had a same reaction to a lipstick that was even rather natural in ingredients. Mine took over a week to go away with pure vit E as moisturiser.

If it is fresh raw milk and yogurt made at home from raw milk, should be very good. Other than that, if it is low temperature pasteurised, ok. If it is pasteurised and homogenised then definitely not good.

That doctor makes lots of sense. He talks about fasting and SOS diet.
Much love. Stay health. It is our only true wealth. The foundation to life. 😘

Damp inside the body can indeed be a cause for skin problems such as eczema
My eczema cleared up by eating a high fruit diet. I had 20 years of severe eczema. 10:31

What kind of meats to avoid with eczema, and which ones are good to eat?

Hi avoid chicken as its high in histamine and cause itching 👍 not sure about the other meats but yep thats all I know 💖
Avoid chicken, seafoods such as shrimps, Crabs, lobsters, Squid.

mm..coconut amino, some himalayan sea salt? Over time you may also learn to taste the true taste of something and your taste buds will become more sensitive :) You can also try cumin and other dried herbs that are cooling to the system :)
Garlic and onions are actually inmunoregulator food so unless you actually have an allergy to either of them they should be a fundamental part of your diet. Citrus also help boost the inmune system so they should be a part of your diet

Soooo, what about the mango?
Organic mango in moderation is fine. :)

More important that oats are organic and when possible use whole oats and pre soak them :) RAw milk is great if you can get your hands on some :)

Would you suggest avoiding almond milk?

(no immediate reference available, but I can look for one...)
Whole-food, plant based diets are best.

Btw dawn. What do u think of petai? Do u think i should avoid petai?
Petai has a bitter taste, which makes it cooling. Go for it! Yum! hehehehe
but usually it is cooked in chili or with anchovies..both of which..not great for eczema..so...unless you like it the way it is :p
Foods high in salicylates are bad for eczema. For example peppermint is very high in salicylates. I started drinking peppermint tea several months ago. Within a month I had a bad eczema rash on my right hand. I stopped drinking the peppermint tea and the eczema continued to subside until gone a month later.

Hi Dawn, is cantaloupe ok to eat for people with eczema?
Yes ok! :)
Actually one citrus fruit, that is oranges actually help in treating eczema but if you eat it out of season it could trigger your eczema
I'm not a professional or something but this is just from my experience and my doctors also say the same , plus I also googled it.
Vitamin C in citruses definitely helps our immunity and skin, if it does not trigger. I guess it makes a lot of sense since when in season, oranges are very sweet and very sour when not in season. :)

Avoid Citris fruits , avoid sour eat sweet fruit
Avoid Nuts / seeds (sunflower ,flax and pumpkin is good )
