ℹ️ About the Episode:
In this week's episode, we pick up right where we left off in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Wolfville is located in Annapolis Valley, which is the wine region of the province and a great place to visit vineyards, enjoy the charming town, and relax. We've been living in the Airstream since February, so we took a 48-hour break to live in a dome. We've never stayed in a dome before, but this one didn't seem like the standard edition. Trish provided a dome tour before Chef Karina arrived to cook dinner. In this episode, we share some thoughts on our planning process for visiting Nova Scotia. We'll go into more detail at the end of this season, but for now, we want to share some resources that have been helpful. We also visit Digby, Nova Scotia, home to a large scallop and lobster fishing fleet and world-renowned for their delicious Digby scallops. We can confirm that the best scallop we've ever had was in Digby! We also fix our water heater in this episode ... again. This time, it was a new problem and an easy fix. We do our best to include these small fixes from the road to remind the community that repairs are an ongoing effort while RVing.

Recipe:
Salmon en Papillote
4 x 5 oz. Salmon fillets
2 Cups Julienne Vegetables
2 Tbsp. Compound Butter
4 Sprigs of Dill or other Herbs
Salt & Pepper to taste.
Procedure:
1. Cut out a piece of parchment in a heart shape. The piece must be big enough to hold the fish and still have room for crimping the edges. Oil the parchment and place oiled side down on work surface. Repeat 3 more times.
2. Place the vegetables on the right side of the heart. Place butter and salmon over the vegetables. Season with salt & pepper and top with herbs.
3. Fold and crimp the parchment paper starting at the top left working your way around to the bottom to create a tight seal.
4. Place packages on a sheet pan.
5. Place in a preheated 400 F degree oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. Package should puff up and parchment should have some colour.
6. Cut the parchment open and garish with sauce. Serve immediately. And enjoy!

As seasoned travellers with much to share, I particularly love and appreciate learning about how Trish plans or does not plan where to go and what to see and all of Marc's tips and tricks for RVing. I also enjoy seeing the sites through Caleb's eyes. And Charlie ...what's not to love about Charlie! KYD has it all. Thank you for continuing to provide great content regardless of where you are or what you are doing.
So cool! ❤🎉😊Trish, I hope Mark appreciates you!
Thank you so much for sharing your trip. This makes me want to get out and travel but since I am 82 years old I stay home a lot. I love watching the youtube channels that travel alot. I hope you and your family have a happy July 4th.
Seeing Charlie roll around at the end makes everything right in the world.
We just stayed in the Tidal Dome this week too and it was wonderful! Highly recommend and we're already planning a trip back in the autumn and winter, especially to enjoy the hot tub. We saw your entry in the guest book, Trish and Marc! :-)
"This was a prison, for kids. I'm not coming down there"!
Another great adventure. I loved the Chef's cooking technique. I need to try it. I bet her dish was amazing. We are foodies and love your food portions. Thank you for bringing us along.
My 50th birthday was celebrated with a trip to the Canadian Maritimes and this series is bringing back so many good memories!
We visited Nova Scotia last September on a cruise and it was very delightful. We had hoped to return this summer, but it didn't work out for us. The people were super friendly and laid back.
First visit vs second visit...totally agree. This happened on my road trip to Yellowstone NP coming from Ontario Canada and driving via Detroit-Chicago-South Dakota etc...there were places we checked off and others we skimmed through noting next time we wanted to see it in more detail. We fell in love with Cody WY and made a point of being there again this time. More things like that. So yes, if you get a chance to go again fill up your cup!
Currently in Halifax heading Cape Breton Island today. The gravel bike trails here are amazing! Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Happy Independence Day KYD! Hey Marc, just a tip, while it will work…it’s better to wrap the tape clockwise instead of anti (unless that’s a reverse thread fitting?). That way as you thread the valve into the fitting the tape is less likely to unwind, causing it to bunch up, and will be drawn into the threads better. You may be able to put a few more wraps on those threads and reinsert this time stop with the drain pointed in a direction you choose. Just tight enough that it doesn’t leak. I travel vicariously through your videos for now but hope to do some real trips soon. Just purchased a 25’ TT and can’t wait to make my own memories. I don’t know the equivalent RV’ers saying but as a sailor, “keep the wind to your back” and “fair winds” 😎….Safe travels 👍🏼
Jumped out at me as well. Looks like it worked but clockwise is better.
I so appreciate that, in addition to all the fun interesting things and places you show us, you really teach and inform us so many of the ins an outs of RV travel.
Thanks again for “taking us along”, and for the joy you impart.
Happy Camping
We loved Nova Scotia! We were there last fall. We got chased out of Truro and headed south to Digby to avoid the hurricane. Loving your videos as I reminisce seeing some sites we visited!
One of our favorite (and one of our first back in 2017) Harvest Host ever was Henigar's market in Wolfville, NS. Such nice people and a great destination even if you don't stay there. We were up their hill alone in their apple field with views of the water. Magical!
Great episode, Caleb always cracks me up.
Been watching your videos since the first flat tire :) enjoy them very much. We are from the west coast of Canada (Victoria BC) just returned from 7 weeks travelling through the maritimes, we figured out early on that however much time you have there it doesn't seem to be enough. The weather wasn't the best (even locals were complaining) but there is so much to do you can usually work around it. You were a little generous when you commented that the roads were a "little" rough but a small price to pay to enjoy history and people of the region. Looking forward to the rest of your trip, always interesting to see if other people see the area as we did.
thanks
Like always i enjoy your Sunday videos Caleb really makes the videos also very entertaining in the back ground have a Happy and Safe 4th
Beautiful places yall are going through from the Yurt to the camp sites thanks for sharing.
So nice to see that Caleb will be having a little brother or sister!
More excellent photography! That meal the chef prepared has us drooling!
Looking forward to the next video!
Safe travels, y'all!
Bob and Dottie
I love this destination. This place looks so fun. I can’t believe how grown up the kids are. I have been watching from the very beginning of your channel and your videos just get better and better. I’m really glad you guys finally got up to our favorite spot in Michigan -Sault Ste. Marie. You guys are all so awesome. 💖💖
Great seeing you enjoying our beautiful province. Glad you got some sun before the damp weather (good for putting out the fires) settled in. But sun looks to be returning!
One of the things I enjoy about visiting NS is the south shore lilt. Its kind of a light Caper accent and such a pleasure to listen too. I find some of the origin of the names in Cape Breton to be interesting because I associate it with Scotland. But the first European settlers were french so that gives names like Mabou and Cheitcamp interesting meanings.
Another great 🇨🇦 episode …..and Mark see ……Home hardware stores are an amazing place to shop ..and all are locally owned. Enjoy the Maritimes ☀️😎
Was in NS for a work trip years ago and just randomly got off the highway for lunch and it was Wolfville I pulled into, what an awesome little town that I am sure most Canadians don't even know exists. Definitely had a good vibe and I cant wait to go back
Thanks for sharing our beautiful Nova Scotia.
Awesome video! We live just outside Wolfville & are so happy you got to explore such an amazing spot 😊
I love the new way to cut a pepper, I eat so many peppers! And I’m so using the salmon handle trick. So great, I love it! Hope to make it up there some day. Beautiful.
I said this last week and will say it again, thanks for the memories, I lived in the valley for 5 years and really do miss it there
Another amazing episode. Glad to see you are enjoying Nova Scotia despite the 2023 June weather. Looks like an amazing trip is being had. Definitely New Brunswick and Eastern Quebec would make another amazing trip. As always, safe travels.....
You guys are the BEST. I get so energized from your fun and positive attitude 🙂
I love how Caleb seems to be big in cycling now.
We are Okies. We drove to Gulfport, Florida. When we were coming home we stayed in an RV park inAlabama. The people Next us us ARE big fans of KDY. I decided to put my KDY tee. The went ballistic when they saw it. Friends on the road. ❤

Thank you for a great Sunday video! Nova Scotia looks beautiful ❤
Loved the guest chef interaction. Some of my fav clips are when Trish cooks. Would be interested to hear how all the smoke is affecting you.
We have been living in Nova Scotia for 50 years and love it here.. We also had a Charlie just like yours,, same color.. he was with is us for 14 years..Waitng to see your Keji Park adventures
So glad you’re enjoying Nova Scotia. And Provincial Parks are similar to State Parks. Hope you have a great time in Cape Breton and you’re able to experience one of our Ceilidhs.
Food prep is starting to look really good. As soon as we are finished here, we are having steaks that are dry brining in the fridge since last night.
Your channel is the best and just keeps getting better. Thanks for sharing and as always stay safe and God bless love ya Nancy
As a Canadian Maritimer by birth (Moncton, NB!) I am so excited to see your travels through our country, especially the maritime provinces. Although we've not done a lot of traveling through NS, it all looks so familiar. Rural, small, and beautiful. Just the way I like it! Even going back to visit family in the city of Moncton seems too big, LOL! I thought it was so fun to hear you commenting on the meal you had at Carla's, wondering what the gravy was for. It's for your fries! Dipping or pouring on...depends on how much you like it! I hope the donairs you try are the maritime version with the sweet donair sauce, seasoned donair meat, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese (mozza) and MAYBE pepperoni. I was highly disappointed when we moved to Ontario and found out they put pickles on their donairs and the seasoned meat was different, as was the style of bread. Enjoy the beautiful, laid back, friendly maritime provinces. Loving every minute of your adventures! XO
Love your channel and I live in Nova Scotia it is a beautiful province I'm glad you enjoy it.
Wolfville was a great town to grow up in :) so glad you enjoyed your stay there!!
Looks like a wonderful time! Glad you had fun and thanks to the chef, I have a new way to cut peppers. Thanks!!
Hey. Sorry our weather has not been friendlier to you guys. Hopefully PEI will be better. But as of right now, we are in the middle of a heavy rainfall warning. Good luck. Not sure when you guys will be over here, but I'll keep my eyes open for yas!
We stayed in that inn you showed in Wolfville for 3 weeks, loved it.
Marc. If you use a little less Teflon tape, you will be able to get the pressure relief valve on your hot water tank pointing down. It looked like you went around three or four times, and you really only need one or two. Reducing that will allow you to thread it a little further and get it pointing down.
And apply clockwise. Sorry, nitpicker here. You guys are great.
Great video as always but I noticed that you were wrapping your Teflon tape around the wrong direction. Wrap in the other way and you’ll find a lot less chance of leaks and make sure you pull it tight to get in the threads better. Safe travels.❤
Put the pipe tape on the way it screws in, roll it on clockwise that way the tape doesn't try to come off when you thread it in
Marc is just putting his inner Albert Einstein 9x10=91 story into another cinematic masterpiece
I can't wait for the next Easter egg
Hi you all......now that is a holiday. Beautiful salmon meal, and service, and a great dome where you can see the night stars and under the protection of Star of David, my dears feel protected and safe, and bless your travels. We love you All and enjoy your videos. Carolyn from way out in British Columbia. Loving you.....
I won't never get my husband across the border so I will live it through yall. Be safe. Happy travels.
My wife and I went on our first road trip, but by car. Drove from Pennsylvania to Orlando Florida. What a trip. Enjoyed it immensely. She has been trying to undo a seed she planted 7 years ago be bring me into an rv dealership. Totally unplanned on her part. I have been wanting one since then. Hasn’t worked at all, but has shown some limitation on driving habits. For example with an rv sometimes you cat just go down a unplanned road. Because there might be some impassable section.
Love your videos.
Rode the 57 mile Celtic Shore trail in Cape Breton today. Caleb and you would love the views and the great gravel surface!
Loved this Sundays video and your camping adventures in NS🇨🇦 Happy Camping and Safe Travels as you continue your journey.😎
Charlie is a such a love bug cutie pie.....🦮. Nova Scotia gorgeous all around -- an amazing adventuring touring which shall never be forgotten (Dome glamping extra good) ❣️. Roads to be turned with hill slopes being devine. Can't wait to see more developing discoveries with discussions .....in this lovely country🤳🌄
I love, love, love this trip! Thank you for taking us along ❤
Happy 4th! Beautiful NS. Safe travels!
You guys need to visit Bayside Campground in PEI. There is so much to do here. This RV park is central to everything. Brook Trout Fishing, Beaches, biking and way more.
This is hilarious. I just watched my first video on your channel this week while planning a trip to Arizona and today see that you are now in my home province! Amazing! Hope you are having an awesome trip!
Wow. Welcome! If you need to find episodes based on location, we have a map keepyourdaydream.com/map
going to miss Caleb when he goes off to collage, keep the clips coming
Always enjoyable.
Made me laugh. You have 2 sections of sewer hose. If you travel enough you will find those wonderful sites that were laid out by people who have never seen a RV much less lived in one. We were in one where I could just position so the power cord would reach and had to use 4 sections of sewer hose in the outher direction. I had to ask the office where the water bib was. They sent some one to show me the "Obvious location" across a ravine on the back side of a tree. I was glad I had extra water hose.
I agree on your statement about visiting places. My version is "Your first visit is so you can plan your next visit" There are always more once you are there to see and do.
The dome was so cool! Definitely going to try the salmon recipe, it looked amazing. Loving this series. Continued safe travels!
Now that was super nice thanks so much for sharing with me.
Come to St.Andrews by the Sea, and be sure to visit Canada’s chocolate town, St.Stephen, New Brunswick. Located on the Maine border! Also, take a free ferry ride to beautiful Deer Island and Island hop while you are there! Hope to see you around KYD!!!🇨🇦
Welcome to Nova Scotia, maybe we will run into you on your travels 😊
Hey you guys need to visit Newfoundland, it is a very beautiful province. I am prejudice because it was my birthplace.
Love your videos, keep them coming.
Great video yall.
When you DO do New Brunswick, do the Fundy coastal route, Sackville to the Memramcook valley, up to Moncton, then down the Petitcodiac river valley to Alma, Fundy National Park, the Fundy Trail, St. Martins and then via Saint John to Saint Andrews-by-the-Sea. You won't be disappointed.
Wow......Schnitzel and Scallops, I am so jealous. 🙂
My grandparents are from New Brunswick and the last generation to live in Canada before coming to the US, so I’m loving seeing this area! ❤Hope to get there in the next year or two to see it myself!
Wonderful video!!! The dome is just beautiful 😍 …. I would totally love that experience!….. Lisa
Man you guys are good parents. I would have made Caleb sleep in the trailer lol 😂
We stopped in Truro and ate at the Nook and Cranny on Prince Street. My husband ordered the blueberry batter fish and chips. He said it was Delicious! While we were there someone asked where we were from. They saw our motorcycle parked outside. He asked if we were going to visit Peggy’s Cove. Had he not asked, we would never had gone to visit this beautiful spot. I recommend going after 4pm. That’s when all of the tour buses leave. I love what you both said about coming back a second time. We missed a lot on our first trip and we are excited about going back to see all of the in between places that we missed. Side note: We are all going to terribly miss Caleb when he continues on to his next adventure. He is such a great kid.
HAVE A GREAT 4TH!!! You guys inspire me to GOOOO
Also went to Peggys Cove and visited the memorial to the Swissair flight 111 that went down off the coast of NS in 1998. Stayed at Wayside CG in St Margarets
Glad you are enjoying Nova Scotia, my home province. I hope you have time to go to PEI. It is also gorgeous.
Awesome views and the food looks phenomenal! We are heading to Deep River, Ontario next spring to spend a month or so mooch docking off family! Will definitely try to hit NS one day!
My grandfather was from Digby. I haven't been back to Nova Scotia in a long g time. But I will be back soon. I am from New Hampshire.
Beautiful. Thank you. Blessings
Love the channel and all the episodes. 24:21 wrap your tape so it doesn't unravel as you put it together.
It's a grilled packet of love! That meal looked so good.
I just subscribed to put you guys up to 500,000 subscribers! Congratulations!
Whooo hoooo, happy early 4th guys!!
Awesome, beautiful location with fresh salmon 😋 Safe Travels ❤️🤍💙
I attended Acadia University back in 86/87 , Woodville, Nova Scotia. I'm from just up the road in New Brunswick. I have to say there were a lot of Americans at Acadia University.
Love the show tonight what fun yall are having love the food she made for y’all have a great time … happy fourth ..🇺🇸
So loving this trip especially seeing Charlie. Plus the food looks amazing as well as the views. The weather seem to be real nice unlike the heat wavy we have been dealing with here in Texas. Looking forward to next week. Safe travels and Hugs to Charlie. So happy Calib is with y'all for the trip.
Happy 🇨🇦 Day!
Hey guys. We have been following you since mid season 1. If your still in Nova Scotia we have 15 acres behind our house that you can boondock in the Truro area.
We drove near you today on our way to the PEI. I wish the ferry was working! We've got a site lined up to ride the tide and then we beeline west. Thanks for the offer! Beautiful province.
i saw a quick glimpse of the cone of shame!! hope Charlie gets better
Can I live with you guys?😂 …. I love everything about you all. Thank goodness you share your adventures with us! Blessings and Joy ♥️🙏🏻
Happy 4th of July KYD......
🇺🇸🎇
Marc, you are never going to believe this. The first time that I heard the following information... my jaw dropped open in disbelief, and my response was, "That's impossible; you're making that up!" But, there is, in fact, a "correct" direction to wrap teflon-tape around the threads on a plumbing fitting! And, you my friend, wrapped it in the wrong direction! 😢 You want to wrap it so that it winds the tape tighter into the threads as you tighten it down. If you go the opposite, it actually loosens your wrap as you tighten it down. I'm sure there are UA-cam videos detailing it more thoroughly. Oh, and judging by the preview of next week's video, it looks like Trish's *World Famous* "Alaska boots" have made the trek to Canada!! So close to half-million subbies!!!
I know... in my mind, I thought through the direction and thought that was with the threads. Righty tights, lefty.... fail.
About the hot water tank safety valve: I only watch once but I think you wrap the Teflon tape the wrong way. Also a couple wraps are sufficient.
The best donair, voted in Canada, is in our little town of Cochrane, Alberta!! "Donair on the Run"!! Yummy!!
Trying not to be to picky, but it would be better if the outlet of the T&P valve was pointing straight down. Great video and safe travels.
Great video I loved it my dad was born just north of Toronto and I have been thsre when I was young
North Toronto (lived there) to where this was filmed is like a 3 hour flight
living in the geodesic dome my father built in the early 80's central Fl, Like living in a giant igloo and pretty much hurricane proof, definitely different lol
Loved Novia Scotia❤
