Thank you for your awesome tutorial! I just bought my Pfaff 1471 yesterday! The seller doesn’t sew. She said the machine belonged to her mother. She sold it to me for $150 bc she wanted it to go to a good home. I am so excited! I drove 6 hours round trip to pick it up. It’s in a super heavy duty cabinet with 4 drawers, to boot! And it has manuals!!! I’m so excited to clean it up and start sewing with it. Before Christmas, a friend asked if I would look at her vintage Pfaff as it wasn’t sewing right. I cleaned all the old thread and dust bunnies out, sewed with the machine, and instantly fell in love with vintage Pfaffs! Then I PRICED them! Holy moly. I thought I was gonna hafta sell a kidney if I ever wanted one. I told my friend that if I’d had ANY idea how expensive her machine IS that I probably wouldn’t have had the guts to WORK on it!😂 Anyway, all of that to say, I really appreciate your tutorial on my new baby!
10:40 this was my grandmother’s! I should have asked her more questions before she asked which is why I am searching on UA-cam so this helps a lot. It did come with the manual and in perfect condition. I have the PFAFF 1469 which seems to be exactly the same as the 1471
I am not sure if my customer who owns this machine has all the cards. She bring me this machine to be served by me. Then I made this video to help and remind her how to use her sewing machine. Thank you for watching ☺️🧵
Trying to replace the light bulb on my 1471 - pretty sure it’s the original bulb and it’s quite dim. Bought a new LED bulb but cannot get the old bulb out! I have the manual, but the thing won’t release! Any suggestions?
It takes a special tool to get the light out. Or you can take your sewing machine to a dealer who takes care of the 1471 and take the light bulb with you. They can take it out and put the new one in it. For a low price.
@@JacquelineJaroffaith the manual doesn’t mention a special tool outside of a small metal bar to push the light downwards - I have that tool and tried it but the bulb will NOT turn to release the two pins. Even got my husband to try. I’ll see if I can get an appointment this week at my regular sewing machine repair shop (they sell Berninas but service all makes). I never had such an issue changing a bulb. Feels like it’s melted into the machine!
@@gailfrohnert4230 It's okay. In the service manual it show a small tube light bulb removal. It's not instructions Manuel. I wish I could help you more then. Telling you to take to a person who knows how to get it out. I have 3 different size tubes that takes the light bulb out.
@@JacquelineJaroffaith actually tried one more time (after taking a break and walking dogs) and this time it came right out! Got the new LED bulb in and it’s a HUGE improvement!! Whew!!
@@gailfrohnert4230 okay, Good 👍😊 Awesome. Have a Blessed evening. So, you know I don't own these sewing machines. I work on sewing machines part-time to help my customers out. Thank you for watching this video.

Awesome, my customers loves her sewing machine too. Thank you for watching 🧵
Pfaff in Baden, Germany, only made industrials for a long time. So when they finally began making domestics, they knew what they were doing!
They have an awesome sewing machine. Thank you for the history and Thank you for watching 😊🧵🪡
