      I couldn't be happier with the way it's running right now. I think a large part of that is having the valves adjusted correctly at long last, as the biggest improvement from everything I've done over the last few days is that the bike doesn't feel as buzzy and feels rather smooth

    Would be interesting if you could reset the A trip metre to see what the avg fuel consumption looks like now.

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  Місяць тому +1

      Yes, I'm planning to do exactly that. I wonder if the ECU knows it's squirting more fuel in now? I don't know how it's actually calculated, so I wonder how it's going to reflect.
      I get on average 300-350 km per tank so we'll see if that range has been dramatically affected. I've still only ridden the bike for about 40 minutes with the new injector, so time will tell.

      @@NicksBikes It knows at least over the Lambda Sensor wich it needed to get Euro 5 Emission approval and will regulate the Fuel flow over it. So anything you think you feel is pure imagination at least on this bike. Maybe not directly the ECU has first a bit to learn but after an couple of km. If you want to generate pure torque you have to re sprocket it to something like 14/47 to stay in an realistic Dimension but you will loose Topspeed and you need an other length in your Chain. Calculate wisely because these experiments can become expensive very quickly. An normal Ballpark for the CB is around 16/42 for Topspeed on older Models wich isn´t relevant for you because ECU says FU and around 14/47 for Max Torque and alone this tiny Changes are roughly 20% difference in between but is enough to bring it over the Torque of the CB-R 125. Not that you will need it i drove both CB-R the newer with 15 HP and the older one with 13.8 HP and both are an Disapointment against the CB-F and not worth the money. If i would consider today an 15 HP Bike than the GSX-S or GSX-R from Suzuki the R125 from Voge , G1 from Zontes and with an bit of Goodwill RX, RS or Tuono from Aprillia but this are exept the RX only for Optics. Anything else is to expensive for what it is specialy Yamaha and KTM but also the CB-R

      @@mariokuppers5686 I'm just happy that the bike is running as smoothly as it is, and I've spent my day re-watching some of my first riding videos and there is a definite and marked improvement on this bike since then. Chalk it up to the engine breaking in, if you will, but all my maintenance over the course of 12,000 kilometres has paid off, as it's running far better than when it was new

  • @ripmax333
    @ripmax333 Місяць тому +1

    If it feels better at 80km/h in 5th and then accelerates without issue to 90km/h I would be happy but If I had the right tools I would like to experiment and remove that catalytic converter at the front piece of the exhaust pipe. I would cut as close as possible to the welds and install a sleeve and welded it up, I think the engine will accelerate faster breath better. The stock exhaust sounds right for my liking as its not obnoxiously loud and perfect for going into country lanes without upsetting anyone.

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  Місяць тому

      @@ripmax333 I thought about that, too, but I'd want to buy a second stock exhaust, but that's currently about $350 that I don't have to spend. I do wonder how restrictive the stock cat actually is, because I've seen videos of CB126F's with a full Black Widow exhaust that's pretty much a straight pipe with a muffler that doesn't seem to add much more than noise. I did try to order a cheap pipe from ali express, but of course it didn't remotely fit. The header was way too big and the bends weren't even close 🤦‍♀️

    • @FCorneil
      @FCorneil 17 днів тому +1

      @@NicksBikes Hi Nick, the Black Widow end pieces are horribly loud, but I have been curious about their de-cat front pipe which they sell separately, not sure whether it is a straight fit to the stock end piece. The de-cat seems like it might combine well with your airbox mod, in theory. Downpipes they call them on their website.

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  17 днів тому +1

      @@FCorneil The stock exhaust is a single unit from manifold to tip, there's no way to change it without cutting and welding.
      Incidentally, I've bought a second hand muffler for the sole purpose of cutting up to see what's inside

    the only realistic way to increase perfromance would be to somehow start saving weight, weight is key for small engines

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  Місяць тому +2

      But I don't wanna go on a diet!!!
      I honestly don't think there's much to be stripped out on this bike, as it only weighs 117 kilograms, so the biggest impact on performance is going to be the weight of the rider. I reckon 18 year old me, at 64kg, would've had no problem with this bike, but 40 year old me, at *REDACTED* does not have much hope of weight reduction ;)
