What a mess. Lots of work and stress for ….not much. Thanks for video and showing me I don’t need no what not!
I wouldn't go just based on this video. If you used better sourcing methods and put a little more time into it (as opposed to a convention) he could have gotten some better deals and made more profit.
As always love the transparency. Keep it up!
I liked your video because it was informative and you were transparent with all the costs. It would be cool to see a follow up video or some context on how you organize and ship all of the corresponding products to the buyers. Thanks again 🙏
Appreciate that a lot and thanks for watching!

There are very few people in the card hobby who are actively as transparent and humble as you are. Your videos are interesting and I appreciate the content. Much respect to ya man.
🎯
Just got into the hobby and already met some shady people. Trike is a breath of fresh air
Really nice demonstration, well done on the moneymaking!
As someone who got back into the hobby in the past 3-4 months, Whatnot was a pretty new experience for me. I was familiar with Ebay and some other platforms, but Whatnot is definitely what you make of it. There are definitely some sellers that will bold face lie about a cards comps or value to raise their profits/revenue. However, if you look in the right places and find streamers/UA-camrs like Trike that you can trust and are transparent there are a lot of good deals to be had. Recently joined one of Troy's whatnot streams for the first time this Friday and got some incredible cards for great value across all different sports. It truly just depends on feeling out different sellers/creators and seeing how they interact with the community, regulars and first time viewers.
Thanks again for the vid Troy, wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving and holiday season!
Really appreciate the kind words, hosting whatnot streams is still kind of new to me so hearing that people enjoy the cards and the experience means a lot. Have a great thanksgiving!
2:24 so how much was that Ronaldo… that’s instantly a steal
I think you bought bunch of my unvetted cards at show in NorCal several months ago. Hope you did well. Really nice guy.
Ive used whatnot its nice and convenient for actual sealed product breaks, i am not a fan of repacks. As for buying singles and slabs ebay is a easy choice (would you rather have 20 seconds to spend 100+ dollars or a couple hours or even days, depending when you find the ebay auction.
Who was the dummy selling you a Yamal rookie auto for $170??? Thank you so much for muting Mojo 🙌🏻
Always a good day when the goat post🐐
I've seen many sellers come & go on Whatnot, only the big brands that have financial backing seem to stand a chance and I would bet their profit margins are slim too
Thanks for the transparency with WN. I would like to see Mojo do ten pushups.
That was a pretty cool video. Keep up the good work man.
Trike always a good dude I trust his word over 💯
Wouldn’t recommend Whatnot or any live selling platform to anyone that’s new to the hobby. Sellers usually hype up cards and buyers that aren’t familiar with comps end up overpaying. You can find deals on better cards on other platforms if you take the time and know where to look.
It depends. I'm not going to sit here and say Whatnot is the best place/only place buy cards, but as you can literally see in this video there was a ton of steals and stuff way below comps. New buyers should still be careful though as you said, there's some rooms where the streamer will straight up lie about the value of the card
@ I’m not saying there aren’t any deals on Whatnot, but I’ve seen a lot of things happen in rooms when I used to be a buyer where I wouldn’t recommend new collectors in the hobby spend time on it. It’s not hard to find the issues that buyers have faced on Whatnot, in my opinion other platforms are a lot better.
@@ThatwasaSTRIKE there are also plenty of issues in other platforms too. Like eBay not dealing with the sellers shilling their own bids and etc.
@@jeremybl4226 100% agree that eBay has problems, but they also have buyer protection. From my experience, I’ve had more problems on whatnot than eBay, however I’m currently not buying from either platform
Whatnot is the worst by miles 😊@@jeremybl4226
Whatnot is hit and miss. I sale on there from time to time. Especially on promotion days. Sometimes I make very little profit considering time and effort. But I have also hit it big also.
I’m sure if I streamed more I could get even better returns. But your brave Trike doing $1 starts on sudden death.
What phone stand is that for the live ?
Well done 👍
lol. I'll NEVER ..EVER buy on whatnot. all I see are cheap off-loaded cards being bought at 3-5x the actual price. hard pass.
Your last 3 comments are you complaining about the hobby. Move on.
You obviously haven’t extensively used whatnot . Your only checking out the famous streamers it seems.
@@Gabedukes419 yeah I agree. I find insane bargains on there but I like people with small followings only really
All this guy does is crap on WhatNot. He probably spent 3 minutes on Mojo's stream and came to a conclusion.
Ya I’m in to a 3k lesson learned after finding whatnot. I’m a idiot
That's awesome brotha. Thanks for showing us how whatnot works
Is there a difference between doing sudden death and letting people bid that adds time to it? I’ve not been on whatnot enough to really make a decision
Sudden death is for the people to try and snipe the card once it hits 0. Once time runs out it’s done with sudden death. The bids that add time to it are just there until someone can’t pay what the highest bidder has put in. If they can, keep fighting for it until someone gives up.
@ thanks! In your opinion what’s the best format you’ve seen?
@ if you want to be a seller you definitely want time to go up every bid to get the most you can. It’s a risk doing sudden death as a seller. But if you buying at you seeing sudden death, take advantage of getting those steals
Good stuff
Thanks for an informative video on selling cards on Whatnot!
I try it for bout a month and loss investment. N went to fanatics instead.
I have a ton of cards id like to get graded but it seems like graded sports cards go for dirt cheap, is it worth grading for 15-25 if you are only selling them for 15-20?? seems like a wild concept to me
You need to examine your subbed cards like a hawk with a magnifying lamp. The smallest imperfection, don’t bother. You need the proper supplies to clean fingerprints etc off cards. You are going for 10’s, and even with your most careful subs you may only get 50% - 70% 10’s. Psa 9’s are selling for the cost of raw (which is really dumb because most raw cards aren’t even 9’s) - PSA 8s on modern will sell at grading cost or below. So it all boils down to how good you are on your pre-grading routine. If you can get a majority of your subs as 10’s then yes it is very much worth doing.
@ thank you for this! That gives some good insight!
Does whatnot have nonpaying bidders like eBay or it’s more legit?
Buying off of whatnot is a terrible idea you will overpay the majority of the time
Whatnot doesn’t seem like it’s worth it to sell on
@@whatt7734 depends how you look at it. If you’re looking to sell things for a super strong price, probably not for you. But if you want to be able to sell a lot of things instantly, it can be really useful
If you think about it he made over $100 per hour
Have you ever had to stop a stream because cards were not selling at a price you wanted?
Nope, for good or for good I just keep the stream going no matter what
Selling and buying cards on what not is a trap. 6/7% fees and you start it cheap in hopes of selling it for more than what you paid for for starting at $1
Those profits were horrible 😂😂😂😂
Second🎉
Yessir!
Bro wasnt the national like months ago lol
You should have went with baseball cards. That sucks. You bought all basketball cards
FUN STRESS😂
@@cesarcruz1622 the best kind of stress lol
First 🎉
You got it!
I appreciate the video, but the numbers are off in a BIG way. You only accounted for the cash you spent and then earned back.
What about the time you spent doing it all. If you account for the time spent buying the cards, then the whatnot stream, the shipping, and more, you are in the whole big time.
Are you?
The question in the video is can I make money selling on Whatnot. Think that's been fairly reflected and the answer is yes even after fees and everything.
Now if someone asked me was it all worth it to make a little less than $200? The answer would be no. Regardless, I certainly don't think I come across in this video as pumping Whatnot selling as this incredible thing where I'm making unlimited money.
@@TRIKESportsCards Thanks and that is 100% fair and correct. I used to live on Whatnot, as a consumer and always wondered how anyone ever made money off of it, as in for a job/living.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
140 bucks for all that work man how do u affird a caneraman and to go to all these shows itvseems like ur traveling around soinning weels and breaking even but u do have a name which goes to shoe u if he csn only make 250 bucks off a stream a lot of small streamer a do way worse
This video was just an experiment, my income is not made up by whatnot streams. I'm making a video soon actually breaking down where my income comes from
