GREAT JOB on your first auction!! You are very personable and it seemed to go really smooth! I am also a newbie on whatnot and my first sale is May 5th at 2:22pm PST and I am nervous and excited too! But it was great to see you do your thing! very encouraging!
Aww, thank you so much Mamabebo! I am certain you are going to nail your first one and even if you don't...it's all about growth and getting better as we go. I think back to this auction and laugh at myself a bit for how "green" I was compared to what I know and do now. Part of the journey 🤙
Thank you so so much for this video. It was exactly what I was looking for to see what the seller is doing behind the scenes during their auction! Thank you Bro!!!
Things I learned from my first auction that you probably already figured out: The shipping is usually $3-8 for the first item then just $1 per item after that so it encourages buyers to bundle. It charges buyers immediately thats why you see the "purchase approved" after every sale to make sure it goes through. Great job and yours looked at lot like my first auction! Ill be sure to follow you!
I appreciate the comment and great ideas, buddy! I love and hate how easy Whatnot makes it to buy and then keep buying. Blessing as a seller, curse as a buyer, haha!
My pleasure! It is pretty scary at first, not going to lie. However, once you get into the swing of things, it's a piece of cake and so much fun! Happy to answer any questions you might have along the way :)

I just got my email that I was accepted and my account is now a functioning seller account, and I just want to say, this video made me 100 times more confident in going live. You did a great job and it sounds like you had a blast. Thank you for posting this, it helped me get them butterflies out my body.

I appreciate the kind words! There isn't much to show. You just meet with the rep over phone and they ask you about your selling history and what you are hoping to accomplish on Whatnot. Pretty straightforward with them just making sure you are a decent human being that has some idea about what you are getting into.
Got excited for you as much as you were counting down. You nailed it for your first one, buddy! For sure! Perhaps next time you should play some New Kids On The Block since you mentioned it 😉
Hey Ronnie! I've been at quite a few of your auctions on Whatnot and follow you there and here (I'm brickhead on whatnot), and thanks for making this video. I am approved to sell and will have my first stream in a week or two. Anyway, the largest thing I was wondering was the combined shipping/how it appears before you pack it, and it looks like a smooth process as far as how it is organized when seeing what items go to whom. Thanks for showing that screen, it helped me out a lot!
Awesome Lukas I appreciate you! Whatnot does a really great job of making combined shipping the easiest I’ve ever experienced as a seller on all of the different platforms. I wish you the best of luck on your first auction and please let me know if you have any other questions :-)
Hello and thank you so much for sharing your experience with what not. I have been wondering what it is like behind the scenes. I am now following you so that I can learn more. Again thank you so much for taking the time for this kind of video. I am a reseller looking for a new Avenue. I’m not the only one LOL
Honestly you probably will and that's totally ok because everyone does. Just have fun with it and go in with the attitude that you will get better every time 👍

This is awesome man! I have just applied to sell Live and would love to do this too! I really hope it works out. I hope you continued to do this because you definitely have a voice for it!
Fantastic Video! I'm getting ready to do the onboard session since I was approved and this helps a lot. I've seen people add items to the auction as it is running if no one is bidding to give a better deal. I don't understand how you change the shipping cost to the buyer live while doing that, since the weight would be more. I will be selling handmade jewelery. Thanks for any info and hope your future auctions are as good as your first.
Glad it was helpful! Shipping cost is based upon the weight you select, so once you pick that for each item, it will automatically calculate the appropriate shipping cost. This will only vary for a buyer if they are in a different country than you, otherwise everyone pays the same shipping rate whether they are in California or New York simply based upon the weight that you select.
You looked like you had so much fun. I just got accepted yesterday and had my orientation.. can't wait to try it out and see how it goes. I've been waiting for this! I will likely go with video games for stream 1 & 2 but then move into action figures because I have a ton.
That’s awesome buddy! It is fun and addicting! I’m actively hunting down more inventory just so I can do more auctions 🤣 Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions 👍
Thanks about to go on Whatnot and wanted to see what other sellers are doing that was great. I too am a seasoned eBayer but I’m really curious to see how it goes there. I specialize in vintage models and think it maybe a good plat form for me, thanks again I’m subscribed to follow your journey.
I hope it went well! You will probably not have many folks in at the beginning and are gonna have to unload some things for pretty cheap to build your audience. But if you have a steady stock of merchandise and stream regularly, you can build that base and get more folks in. I kinda ran out of merchandise to sell so I'm not on there much anymore, but it sure was fun while it lasted.
I admit I haven't watched your whole video but I do have a question, how do people know you're having an auction? Let's say I schedule a auction how do people on What-Not know that I'm having one? Do they search a specific category and then pick from that or is there some sort of self promotion? I don't have followers like The Crazy Lamp Lady or some of the other big names in the You-Tube sellers world. I realize you're new to What Not and thats why I wanted to ask you how it worked or works. I will finish watching your video so I can see how it works. Thanks. I'm sorry if you answered this question in the video but I have to leave thats why I can't watch the whole thing right now.
Great question! You can schedule a show on Whatnot and that will show up on the show list for the category you selected. People can elect to get notified when your show gets live and they will receive a notification. You likely won't have many people starting out but once you make some sales and start building up a reputation, people will follow you and can be notified every time you go live automatically. Promoting yourself on social media is also an important aspect as well to building up a solid following.
The camera I was recording the video on I was using a little shotgun mic. The cell phone was not attached to the computer for the Whatnot auction. You can log in using multiple devices to the same auction and use one as a camera and one to list items like I did.
The first auction was a blast. I will definitely have to keep my 9 year old off whatnot 😂 Maybe you have 18 packages and 17 labels because you aren’t supposed to ship my order…

So I just got approved for live selling! I am mainly a comic book guy but I invested in a ton of sealed lego sets over the last 28 months or so (substantially discounted). Can you tell me how the shipping works on WhatNot for these big sets?
You bet! Shipping will be whatever it costs for the first item and then a dollar for each additional item that someone buys during the same auction. What a lot of folks do is sell lighter things earlier in the show like a Minifigure so the shipping is $3.50 and then sell sets later when the shipping will only be $1 if the buyer purchase something earlier in the auction. It’s a solid formula that has worked well for me in the past. Best of luck and let me know if you have any other questions!
I keep coming back to this Chanel hoping there will be more Lego content but there never is……. That’s why I come back and watch these videos it’s almost as good! Go back to Lego!!!!!! I remember watching this when it came out and I love it and still do ❤

Hey Theresa, great questions! That’s exactly what I do. I use my phone as the camera for the show and on my laptop, I activate the listings. Definitely not a silly question as I was wondering the exact same thing. I’d recommend doing a shorter auction the first time (an hour or less) that way you don’t get overwhelmed with the amount of shipping and packaging that follows. I’d recommend doing a shorter auction the first time (an hour or less) that way you don’t get overwhelmed with the amount of shipping and packaging that follows. If you have any other questions at any time, don’t hesitate to reach out!
@@soldbyronnie Thank you! I appreciate your help!
@@theresabowden9317 my pleasure 😊
Do you still sell on there?
I do not just eBay now
Any reason why you quit?
@@sueellenmcgoey6095 I sold all of my inventory and wasn’t having much luck buying on eBay and flipping on whatnot after the first couple of shows.
@@soldbyronnie sorry to hear that.
Been on eBay since 2000. Summer is always slow.
@@sueellenmcgoey6095 oh, I still sell on eBay just not on Whatnot 👍
Are you still on Whatnot?
Nope, haven't sold on there in quite some time. Everything is on eBay or TCG player now for me.
how did you instantly have viewers starting your first stream
When I joined Whatnot, there weren't many LEGO streamers approved to sell.
you will be fine its easy
Damn they really spammed every UA-cam lego seller to use that platform.
Yep they are definitely investing in content creators for sure.
I can't be attending too many auctions or I'll be in trouble
Haha I don’t blame ya buddy! It was awesome to have my first sell on the platform to you. Thank you so much!
yay pearl jam
🤘
My first auction, I stayed for 2 hours and had 6 viewers on at the most 😢. people pop in and out just to check if you have giveaways. bunch of free loaders😑
@@raykupal that was definitely my experience later on down the road. My auction was when Whatnot was in its infancy, so there were tons and tons of people buying not nearly as many selling
what not sucks
What do you not like about it?
Did you lose your Whatnot account? I clicked the link to follow you at Whatnot and it said the page you are trying to view was not found.
Odd. I still have an active account. Here's a link to it: www.whatnot.com/user/soldbyronnie
May I know the name of the lights you use that are side to side of the table?
You bet! They are generic non-brand name lights. Here is the link to them on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DFMFQJ6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
