    Thanks for the tutorial, I’ve been wondering how to figure out the yardage of the pre cuts it would be great if you could go through all the cuts and give the yardage’s of each.

      Hi rayma, thank you. I’m posting a website that has a very helpful picture that explains how many of what size to create the quilt you want. www.anitagoodesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/How-Many-Blocks-Do-I-Need.pdf

    The seams would nest better against each other if the seams were not pressed open. Pressing the seams open also weakens the seams of the quilt.

    What happens on the back, you don't leave it like that right? Trying to learn how to make a baby quilt

    • @alyciacole1163
      @alyciacole1163  7 років тому

      maxi1049 This is just the finished top. after this is done you would add a layer of batting and then the backing and quilt all the layers together. And then your last step would be to add the binding

      Alycia Cole Aww, you are so sweet for helping. So, do I need a special foot for quilting, or just make some straight lines through it? And I'm watching videos on binding. I'm 68, just learning to sew, was raising kids and working. I made a rag quilt, not too bad, but all the snipping was too hard on my arthritic hands. Thanks for all you help. Another fav lady to watch has been SewVery Easy. But I can't seem to cut my squares same size either, but I want to sew dang it! New great grand due anytime!

    • @alyciacole1163
      @alyciacole1163  7 років тому

      maxi1049 No problem, im here to help :) It will get a little easier once you get a little practice in. If you want to straight line quilt it you can use your regular walking foot. If you want to free motion you would need a free motion foot. If you would like to find my Facebook page you can send me messages if you ever need any help. facebook.com/padmesplayhouse

      Alycia Cole I'm going to see if I can find your page, you have no idea how I've struggled, lol I just got a walking foot, now I would love to have the quilting foot instead of just straight line, now I'm really excited! I'm going to my granddaughters wedding, but when I get back, I'm going to start the baby Quilt. I retired once but I pet sit to supplement my SS, so I'm gone a lot in the summer, but things will start to slow down. I'm just really excited now, thank you for your kindness, I'm positive I'll have questions, lol God bless, going to find your page❤️

    When you stitch in the ditch so you do it with your backing or with your backing off or with just batting on?

    • @alyciacole1163
      @alyciacole1163  6 років тому

      Vivian Steward when i stitch in the ditch it is when the entire quilt is finished and sandwiched so i have both the batting and backing on

    Why are you talking a lot but saying nothing please when people watch a tutorial get to informing teaching don’t just stand there and talk about nothing . I stopped your video simply because you were over talking and not demonstrating anything and didn’t seem to be on point . Practice with your family first see if you can keep their interest before doin* another video
