The power of those two moves is lessened in this format in that Annihilape can simply be double targeted, and Last Respects can only be (realistically) powered up three times. The power of these moves only becomes obscene in a 6-on-6 singles format. It's the same reason why entry hazards and stall overall don't work too well in VGC.

I can understand the initial idea of mycelium might. Have it spore someone after an attack to not waste a sleep turn and then use it's speed to capitalize on that.
Scovillain also just... Feels like a middle evolution. I want a third stage where it turns into a three headed Hydra with a yellow pepper and gets it's stats a bit better allocated.
I like the idea of a third stage, and to shake it up the third stage could be two forms, one Physical and the other Special. That way Scovillain lets you play as a mixed attacker and the final stage lets you play as your preferred style.

The big problem with future paradoxes will always be the lack of terrain setters. Torkoal and sun will always be more useful than Pincurchin. If more pokemon got electric surge and surge surfer, then the future paradoxes would be much better. But as it stands, they're fighting with no ability most of the time, and unless you're min-maxed like bundle or as versatile as Valiant, that just doesn't cut it anymore.
I’ve been saying we need more terrain setters for a while now. Not just for competitive’s sake, but also for the sake of availability. Only Psychic & Electric Surge are on standard Pokémon that could be placed in almost any regional dex, with Grassy & Misty Surge being locked behind a starter and a regional variant respectively; and the only other options for terrain setters are legendaries that aren’t even compatible with SV. Up until the Teal Mask released and made Galarian Weezing available via Home, the only Misty Surge Pokémon was the unusable/boss-only Ruchbah Starmobile. I suppose we got a “sort of” terrain setter with Arboliva & Seed Sower, but that’s just a lesser form of Grassy Surge since it requires you to get hit for it to activate. I do feel like Hisuian Voltorb & Electrode should’ve gotten Seed Sower as an ability over Soundproof though; it’d give it something interesting outside of its typing and it works with the lore since they spread seeds when they roll around.

The only change Wo-Chien needs it's to get it's type changed to poison/dark (It's a rotting pile of leaves) and keep it's utility movepool, that's an awesome defensive typing that would give it real bulk

Iron Thorns is still pretty under the right circumstances. If its attack was just a bit lower, it could make use of booster energy to be a better late game sweeping T-tar. However T-tar having access to the defense boost from sand, sand for free chip, resistance to dark, and knock off is just too good to pass off in exchange for the slightly higher speed and lower bulk of iron thorns.
Thorns can boost speed, but he needs to at the cost of 23 Atk IVs with a Timid Nature. Which sadly really hinders his damage, but I guess a kinda fast Rock Slider in something like doubles might be fun but at that point just use any of the other fast Rock Sliders I wonder if we had more Elec Terrain setters if would help the weaker future paradox mons like him
@saltator8565 I didn’t even bring up typing. Thorns’s stats are just too similar to its base form and it doesn’t gain anything from being an electric type, and quark drive is a patently worse ability than sand stream so thorns will forever be in its base form’s shadow.
I was an Iron Thorns fan the moment I saw its shiny. It’s pretty much the only Future Paradox mon to rock the monochrome look, it really fits the Mechagodzilla look and it makes me so bummed its bad 😭
Toadscruel could have been a interesting mon in sun. Iron thorns and all of the paradox mons should have gotten another ability. Iron thorns setting up electric terrain would have been insane and vital in higher tiers. I actually lost to a scovillian the other day but I was caught off guard by it.
Toadscruel should have been a physical attacker and sleep powder to truly give it a way to distinguish itself from tentcruel. Toadscruel’s sugnature ability is just too weak to pass up in exchange for the ability to status Gholdengo and Garganacl.
Early on in SV I had some success on the ladder with Tera Bug Loaded Dice Iron Thorns. I used a D-Dance set with Rock Blast and Pin Missle. It was fun but I doubt it’d hold up today
Terapagos feels like it was tailor made for VGC. Lack of speed can be addressed by Tailwind/Trick room and nobody likes switching into a specs tera starstorm. Also the fact that it can erase weather and terrain once in battle is of critical value in VGC meta.

Honestly Terapagos's middle form isn't that bad thanks to its ability. It can actually make itself tankier for set up, then sweep when you use the upgraded form. The main issue is that it's a Tera sink. You use it and rest of your team can only use it in the most niche of niche scenarios otherwise you're left with what would be a Pokemon at a powerlevel to regular legendaries.

I think terapagos would have been really cool if each form was it’s own evolution. Like baby form, middle stage, and Uber full stage. Or went to it’s tera form with an item called like “terra shard/orb”. Which is probably what they’re going to do in gen 10

How to fix terapagos: Make its tera stellar form not take your terastilize slot. (considering its the pokemon who causes a phenomenon, youd think itd have enough energy to support double terastalizationg in one battle.) Also give it 90 speed, take some stats from its attack stat. Kyurem white and black: Make turboblaze and teravolt give the pokemon +50% for fire and electric moves. This would buff zekrom and reshiram too, making them much more viable competitively, and the kyurem forms would have stab on the fusion moves. Scovillain: Swap its attack and HP stats. Considering its mostly a support mon, id say it makes sense to have high HP instead of high attack which it doesnt need. Also givie it heatwave Iron thorns: Swap its offensive stats, give it meteor beam/rising voltage and give it at least 100 base speed. Rock electric isnt a bad typing offensively specially with all the coverage it gets. Its biggest issue is being slow
I personally think Iron Thorns is better than ppl give it credit for, in draft league format in particular this pokemon is a menace, when u can only have one or two pokemon that can tera on every team and this guy is sitting down in 8 or 9 points, he becomes a great choice with his amazing bulk and sweep potential. The move pool is actually pretty good with a lot of really solid coverage options, and with tera getting two dragon dances up with this guy is pretty doable which lets you run Thunder Punch instead of that shitty supercell slam. I've used Iron Thorns in a very high skill level draft tournament and he was amazing
Pretty much the Iron Thorns only set i've made work, barely at that, is Tera Bug with Dragon Dance, Loaded Dice, Rock Blast, Pin Missile, and Supercell Slam. And it relies on a Pinchurin offing itself with Memento the turn beforehand. Either bait an enemy EQ to pull off an easy Dragon Dance to then attempt sweeping with a move that's normally a joke (Pin Missile lol). It is extremely inconsistent and dumb, but it provide A function, even if said function is complete jank and completely invalidated if Tera is ever removed.

Like if they wanted them to not be a fast spore setter, then make the ability do something like double the damage of the next attack after setting up spore, that way, while the spore is slow to set up there is a payoff for that negative
Bolt Beak would've done a lot for Iron Thorns since his speed after choice scarf already makes it a threat. Plus in an electric terrain team would further boost his attack and the damage of bolt beak

honestly? Palafin. its gimmick seemed super cool and fun but it ended up getting itself banned immediately without even being relevant in ubers. i wish it was worse so it could be way better

here's a way i can nurf that gold pokemon's ability (gold as gold) change it's name to pure gold and make the user take double damage from fire type attacks
i'm happy that toedscruel does not get fast spore
but i'm just thinking... why is it a grass ground type
if it was a pure grass type, it would just be a better typing defensively
and with its 80 base special attack, it can't use the upside of ground type's offensive potential
so its just a support pokemon with a garbage defensive type🥲🥲🥲
