The Decreasing Rarity of Dragon Type Pokemon
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- Dragon Type Pokemon have always been the strongest and rarest type of Pokemon across the series, and tons of legendary Pokemon are given the type. However, with each recent generation, that rarity is diminishing, with lots of new Dragon Type Pokemon being introduced, many of which do not have the typical imposing attributes that Dragon Pokemon are known for. This video essay is all about documenting that decreasing rarity, and a brief look at what the future of dragon type Pokemon could be. Make sure to like and subscribe for more Pokemon content!

LMAO nice
fairies truly yassified the dragons
Fairy is a large part of why Dragon is so common now. The hardest counter to dragon types is pretty common itself. Dragon can't possibly be a threat because fairy types exist, so why keep them behind unnecessary walls if they're gonna get destroyed by a common pokemon.
I wonder what the game would be like if they buffed Ice, maybe gave dragon more weaknesses (Steel or Fighting because noble warriors using swords usually slay the dragons/beasts) or balanced fary so it didn't have two not very offensive weaknesses. Steel and Poison hitting you supereffectively is not a threat at all.
Definitely, and Fairy absolutely needs a redesign! Making it weak to bug would make sense, nerf fairy, and buff bug, that's my personal hope
@@FargusPhil I don’t see why fairy would need to be nerfed at this point, it’s not the dominant type anymore like dragon was before the nerf, if anything there’s other types like steel that are way better than fairy currently
@@Gst-bg1rq dragon type worshipers want fairy to ve nerfed
Ice is also supereffectivr against dragons and nobody talks about it.
@@Andrew-ch3xjI hate Fairy type for mostly poor designs and types which are more needed
I think its worth mentioning that while older dragons have been able to be found in earlier areas, starting with Bagon before the second gym in XY, the new dragons have always remained fairly rare or late game, for example Fridgibax is only on Glaseado Mountain, Duraladon was found right before the final city in Sword and Shield and while Applin is dound pretty early, its unique evolutionary items are pretty hard to get iirc
Not any more, they aren't. You can get Hydrapple in like, the first hour of the Kitakami DLC, and the other two items are even easier to get.
@@RabblesTheBinx hydrapple requires Dipplin to know the tm move from the last E4 member and even then in SwSh, the apples are pretty annoying to track down, which is what I was referring to.
Axew was available earlier than Bagon in XY.
@@nedrostram2360 Both before the second gym though, so not that big a deal
What makes a Pokémon a dragon type isn’t really based on how “cool” or “scaley” it is, because our modern western understanding of a dragon is very different to ancient interpretations of Dragons in different cultures. Such as Appletun being based on a “wyrm” in an apple while also being reptilian like most other dragons and Goodra is based on how weak knights were depicted fighting snails instead of dragons. I just think overtime when it comes to what a “dragon” type is, it’s always been much more what the inspiration for the mon is rather than if it looks like a classical dragon or a dinosaur.

To be fair to winona - she also uses a dragonite in her emerald rematches and a rayquaza in her non-canon DLC PWT team in black 2/white 2. So it's fair to say she's just as much a dragon master as lance is.
I faintly remember an interview mentioning that gen 3 was around the time GF attempted to make more "cooler" designs, and I think that played a role in more non-legendary dragon types. Just by labelling something as a dragon inherently gives it a cooler vibe. Like altaria is an unassuming dragon type that you'd be pleasantly surprised to learn that it actually has that typing. Of course this design principal resonates well with the fanbase and it leads to more dragons being available. Other commenters already answered why is it okay to have a lot of these dragons, which is their intent on nurturing the competitive scene that leads to the introduction of the fairy typing. It might seem necessary at the beginning of the IP's life to create a reputation for dragon types, but it's pretty much unnecessary now that we're 9 generations of games in. Dragons are awesome, more dragons means more awesome
Very well said!
There were no ghost types either but no one cried about it as hard
Meanwhile we are getting less and less poison type when it was almost like gen1 took place in australia
@@powerfulberry237 i mean dragon type obviously stands out more
I like that it feels like they are starting to stop treating certain types as “special” for unknown reason. We still need a good bit more Ice types.
We literally just got 2 of the most broken ice types this gen and an entire rework to hail
@@Magic_Icearticuno won a regional
So we are in a stable point with ice types
Now they just need to give bug a buff so it isn't inherently worse than other types
@@Magic_Ice I didn’t say more good Ice types, I said a good bit more Ice types. As in, just more of them. It is still a very rare type.
@@colinbrown74 and honestly they should stay rare. in nature ice is an incredibly rare thing, only happening during specific parts in the year or only at the far edges of the planet. It’s not as common as water or ground or plants. It should be rare because ice is incredibly fleeting and fragile. If it was super strong and common then it would lose any thematic connections it has to ice.
See, the opposite happened with Phoenix in Monster Rancher. In Monster Rancher 2, there were a few Phoenix sub-breeds you could have access to, but in Monster Rancher 3, there WERE no sub-breeds. When they returned in 4, there are no Phoenix sub-breeds for other monsters, and the Phoenix itself had 2 in its main breed. Very lame if you ask me. Phoenix isn't even as good as dragon types are in Pokemon.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if we took a step back and had more non-dragon type legendaries.
If we got a dragon starter then we would need a fairy type starter.
Really, you'd need all three starters to be dragon-type
But since dragon attacks are only strong against dragons and nothing else you couldn’t form a balanced triangle that way
All three dragon types with second typing fire/water/grass
@@duyanhpham9227U could if u play around with the Dual types like the Gen 4 starters. Or just save the trouble and put a Dragon starter in a legends game since the starters don't interact with each other at all.
We did technically have a fairy starter. However the issue stands that the first three starters have to have some relevance to the first half of the game in terms of gyms.
Alolan Exeggutor gained the dragon typing cause it was based off of being a palm tree that produced DRAGON fruit. Be like if they gave Yanmega the dragon typing for being a DRAGONFLY but for whatever reason chose not to
I know there’s lore behind it but I mean it’s still a pun which is way goofier than previous gens
Yes but dragon fruit has no draconic traits does it
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not the dragon fruit but the Dragon (Blood) Tree it's based on, which has veins that resemble "dragon's blood" supposedly. More draconic and a cool way if incorporating the type.
It is because the Japanese word for dragonfly doesn't has dragon in it.
Yanmega is a bit if a sting, still one of my favourite designed pokemon of all time and great fun to use but yeah, it evolves into a big dragonfly when it discovers its ancient power and becomes..... another bug flying
Gen 9 has a lot of dragon types but not bad ones. With 2 legendries. a dragon connected to that legendry's. a special 590 base stat paradox form. 3 legendary paradox forms. 2 cross gen evolution one of them has the stats of a pseudo legendary. And a strong gimmick pokemon

The super rod isn't really a late game item, its a mid game item that the player can actually obtain earlier than expected. And theoretically u have unlimited amount of time in the Kanto safari zone because the game doesn't count time, it counts the player's steps.
I suppose so, but I'm thinking of it in the context of when the game's released and we didn't have the internet as a guide to know where everything was.
You get an unlimited amount of time in the safari zone, you can fish for dragonair till your heart’s content
It's based on steps.
Fun fact, in the same game where you can get Noibat early game (USUM) you have a 1% chance to run into Bagon on ROUTE THREE. Furthermore, that Bagon has a 1% chance to SOS a level 2-3 SALAMENCE. Meaning its possible to get Salamence on route 3 in USUM
I remembered halfway through editing lol, wish I’d had it in the script cause that was insane
Me, buying Game Corner coins until I had enough to buy a Dratini in Pokemon Blue.
I remember when Dragons were so rare starting back in Gen 1 that it wasn't until late Gen 2 when I figured out their weakness when I visited Earl's Pokemon Academy in Stadium 2 to learn more about type matchups.
Nowadays you can't go 5 steps out of town without tripping over a Dragon, in some cases literally like with Applin
Hahaha you went to school? Nerd
I don't get your point considering the fact that there are a grand total of 15 non psuedo/legendary dragon type species
Most pokemon typing were rare in gen 1. even ghost type were rare.
Banger video! Loved hearing your perspective.
I think Dragon-type in Gen 1 was a gameplay balance addition moreso than a special, legendary type to show off to your friends at recess.
You can find some dragons throughout your adventure, like Charizard, Gyarados, or Aerodactyl, but then Lance pulls out a monster that resists Grass, Water, and Fire. In one of the final fights of the game, your ability to determine the weaknesses and resistances of newly encountered Pokémon is tested.
I personally just don't think GAME FREAK was stingey to maintain an image of prestige, or at the very least, this wasn't considered before gameplay considerations.
that's a really interesting way of thinking about it! I like your interpretation a lot!
I miss the status dragon type had before Fairy got introduced.
They needed to be balanced tho
Dragons were way too strong. Fairy Made Sense...
@seegurke-bd3yr I don't think the typing itself is strong. To me the problem was GF couldn't stop slapping the Dragon type onto every legendary and Pseudo.
@@devilrider39000000 yeah that's right i hate it
They could have made Steel and Bug super effective on and resist dragons.
It’s interesting to note that the “Dragon-type renaissance” of Gen 6 was actually very intentional as a response to the Gen 5 competitive scene. They said in an interview that Fairy-type was introduced because Dragon-types were getting to be unfairly overpowered compared to the other types, and they wanted to balance that out. I can imagine that making it more commonplace amongst the types probably went right along with that.
Also, as for what kind of Dragon-type I’d like to see in the future, let’s just say I’m working on a Dragon-type Fakemon that I absolutely love but I know Pokémon fans will hate.
I think about Dragon Type as being the "powerful" type. There are several pokemons that are dragons who don't have that typing so it certenly means that the typing is kind of missnamened
I can totally see that, mons like goomy and applin definitely break that mold though
7:55 what if there was a route 1 bug that first evolved at level 15 to a pokemon with beedrills stat total, but then at level 60 evolved again into a bug dragon type, and you learn that it’s actually the game’s pseudo legendary the whole time
that's actually an insane idea, very creative!
It's not just dragons. In gen six on, a lot of tge design philosophy of Pokemon feels really different. The longer the series goes on, the more ut feels like they don't really care about a Pokemons identity, only about hype
What does this even mean, how is a Pokemon like Avalugg, Clawitzer, or even Shiinotic considered hype?
Fun fact, the ice type is (as of gen9) the type with the least amount of pokemon
6:51 you say that the evolutions of old pokemon are the only new pokemon introduced with the dlc. The Poltchageist family, ogerpon, the lousy trio, terapagos, and pecharunt are not dragons and they were introduced with the dlc
I meant to specify indigo disk my b. I guess terapagos too but its legendary so I guess I didn't think of it since we knew it was coming
Bug Dragon let’s go! 🔥
Just wanna say i discovered dratini within my first playthru of yellow but never got to levelling it to dragonite due to child me not knowing grinding
It’s kind of crazy to think that all of the newer types (Dark, Steel, Fairy) have been added onto starters. But no Dragon (excluding Mega Charizard and Mega Sceptile).
I’m kind torn on this. On one hand, I do like how many Dragon types have been restricted to the mid, late, and post games as to keep you from catching them early and stream rolling through the game. I remember playing Y and only using the Gible I caught. It was over level 90 by the time I reached Diantha. And with Violet, I caught a Bagon early on and used Salamence to basically sweep the game. That’s basically what’s happening right now in my play through of Gen 7 too. I really don’t think they should have been available so early. But I’ve always been fine with things like Noibat being available early on because it’s really weak until it evolves. Even after it does, it’s still pretty weak for that point in the game and just relies on its speed. So yeah, Dragons being held off on usually makes them feel worth the journey.
On the other hand, I’ve wanted the first gym to be a Dragon one for a while. Between Gen 5 introducing a gym with multiple leaders to put you at a type disadvantage and Gen 6 introducing the Fairy type, I think having a Dragon type gym first is a cool idea. It resists all of your starters’ STAB attacks. And if they made it start in an icy part of the region, it would teach you that you have to catch mons if you want an easy win. I’d want then to make it that at least one or two Dragon lines would be obtainable after beating the gym leader so the player could wield them for themselves. But maybe not psuedo legendary strength quite yet. More along the lines of Noibat or Horsea.
Idk. It feels like Dragons have become less of an award for making it far into your journey and more of an handout just to further lessen the difficulty of these games. I think Game Freak’s been having a little difficulty in finding the right balance between making the games challenging and making them quick to get through ever since they moved the the 3DS. And that’s impacted the lore of some mons and types.
In Alola you can get a Salamance with a Level in the single Digits via SOSing.
Its a wyrm....also eternatus is literally meant to be the corrupted hand of god he is awesome.
Yup I absolutely know why they’re dragon it’s just that they are goofier than previous dragons.
Serperior Fan? PERRY the Serperior Trainer?
They were rare because they were invincible - now since everything can kill them there is no reason to keep them rare
They were never invincible lmao. Dragonite, and for some reason like 80% of all pre gen-4 dragons were 4x weak to ice, a common attacking type.
I like that after they made Dragon-types more common, suddenly there were very few new x4 weak Dragon types. So far, they would have been the Deino line after Fairy was introduced, the Noibat line, Zygarde, the Jangmo-o line, and finally the Applin line, though Appletun gets Thick Fat to reduce x4 Ice weakness to x2 Ice weakness. Ice just isn’t as much of a weakness to Dragon-types overall across the board.
Even then, the Deino line has Zweilous and Hydreigon, powerful attackers, Noibat line is supposed to be frail in return for speedy Boombursts, Zygarde is supposed to increase in strength, Kommo-o is supposed to be a set-up sweeper that has at least one major weakness, and the evolutions of Applin save Hydrapple are supposed to be a bit middling.

@@illshado very delusional way to look at it
I’ve held this idea for many years, that they could easily do a starter trio where all of the final evolutions gain the dragon type, and it’d be cool as hell. Or maybe make the pikaclone Electric/Dragon. The early route bug tho is also a fun idea. I hope don’t make TOO many dragon type Pokemon but I’d love for them to bring the type into roles that they haven’t touched yet
Thank you to whoever liked my comment and made me realize I said fire instead of dragon
Gatekeeping so many strong mons behind the dragon typing was one of the reason why fairy was strong from the moment of its introduction. If fairy only counters like, bug, no one would give a shit. It was clear that dragon was a very unbalanced typing and the devs had been trying to undo that over the years.
TBH, I feel like they could’ve gotten away with making Grovyle and Sceptile Grass/Dragon considering that Starters can’t be caught in the wild and requires trading to obtain outside the one you chose.
Also it’d be cool if we had two pseudo-legendaries like in Gen 3. One could be a dragon type like expected and the other could lack that typing. Like a Water/Dark hippo, a Grass/Electric evolution to a regional form of Deino based off the Potato, etc.
You know what even rarer than Dragon types? A pure flying type, which there's only 3 of them. Tornadus, Rookidee and Corvisquire.
I'm glad dragons aren't rare. It was stupid to treat them as barely there in first two gens the way they did
100%
@@FargusPhil I think Gyarados, Aerodactyl and Charizard all should have been dragon types from the beginning. And they should have introduced at least 4 dragon type evolutionary lines in Johto
I'd prefer they keep the boatload of dragon types to a minimum to keep them special when they're introduced, that also goes for pseudo legendaries. Since gen 4 we've had pseudo legendary dragon types the whole time. I'd wish they'd give us some more cooler ones like Tyranitar who lasted a LONG time in competitive and Metagross who just looks so cool for a Steel/Psychic type.
Unless the next gen's pseudo legendary is a Bug/Dragon type, I want something different.
I think Gen 3 was where the shift took place, Gen 4 showed the problem with adding more overly powerful dragons and Gen 5 with making too many of them to the point Fairy Type had to be introduced. Fairy Typing itself demoted the 'rarity' of older Dragon Types as they lost a lot of things that made them unstoppable: Dragon Spam. Which is why many of the broken Dragons go for Flying SPAM instead or get outclassed.
Again, short summary:
Gen 1:
- Dratini line: hard to obtain, hard to train, no STAB balanced out by the wide movepool of colorful weather manipulating moves and Agility + Wrap + Hyperbeam
Gen 2:
- Kingdra: powerful dragon that can only be obtained through trade and a very specific item, has only 1 weakness, no Dragon STAB worth using as offensive Dragon Type moves are still not good
Gen 3:
- Flygon: fast powerful dragon with good STAB coverage balanced by the lack of physical special split and limited physical coverage, has ok special movepool, great typing, great ability. Way too easy to obtain for the amount of power you get
- Altaria: easiest dragon type so far balanced by awful offensives, can run any type of offensive set due to good movepool of the dragon type
- Bagon line: balanced by the lack of good physical stab, still good offensive movepool, great defenses especially through Intimidate, first competitively notable Dragon Type
- Lati@s twins: roaming post game legendaries which take planning to catch, massive Special Attack allowing them to take advantage of their massive special movepool, balanced by bad iv glitch (except when optained through South Island or Emerald)
- Rayquaza: held back by the lack of good STAB to fully take advantage of it, MEWTWO stats, high level, hard to reach, amazing movepool, good ability to check 2 Pokemon that will define many tournaments where Rayquaza will be legal
Gen 4:
- Gible: balance? What is that? Outrage got buffed to 120. Physical Special split happened, thus Dragon Moves have powerful physical moves. Insanely fast. Very accessable. Pretty low Evolution level for Pseudo (perhaps the earliest evolution level of all pseudoes?), insane speed, Dragon and Ground have near perfect coverage... with Fire it is perfect... can you guess what coverage Garchomp has? Can learn Sword Dance. Can slap Special Moves because its lowest stat is still 80 base Special Attack and it learns a lot of high base power special moves.
- Dialga, Palkia and Giratina: Do I need to mention anything? Their stats are in a way they can pretty much any set. Dialga and Palkia have insane coverage and high base power moves. Their typing at the time give them amazing defensive utility and make them hard to kill. Giratina offers great utility due to its Ghost typing and Shadow Sneak.
- Arceus: Unobtainable through normal gameplay. In Dragon Form, it offers waste coverage, amazing stats taking advantage of Dragon Types massive offensive capabilities as only 1 type resists it and that type is weak to Ground and Fire (types for which Arceus has high base power coverage for on both attacking sides)
Gen 5:
- Axew line: Insane mid game Pokemon, seemingly balanced by the lack of Fire Type moves, easy evolution requirement for the power you get, needs only 2 moves to break through everything, has great support moves in Dragon Dance and Sword Dance, good speed, highest non-legendary attacking stat in 147 at the time
- Durridigon: 1 stage slow dragon type with great abilities for any role you want to use it for.
- Deino line: takes the most investment to get the final form, has stellar coverage, really fast
- Reshiram and Zekrom: Perfect STAB coverage Reshiram with an ability that even Heatran makes it impossible to stop and the Kyogre and Lugia Killer Zekrom. They would fall off later generations but their high base power moves and dragon STAB carry them pretty much.
- Kyurem: Balanced by awful Ice Typing making it weak to common types, 2nd highest stats in its fusion forms, delivers the highest amount of Dragon Damage (except to Outrage from Hustle Zweilos)
Up to gen 5, dragons are too accessible, have high base power moves, barely anything can switch into them due to few pokemon resisting Dragon. If only a handful where Dragons and didn't have so many advantages, then DragMag teams wouldn't be a thing. To justify more 'lesser' dragon types to exist, Fairy Type was introduced. Now Dragon is no longer a 'rare' type
I do think that dragon types dont have to be inherently rarer, now that they arent being balanced around being an inherently better type than the rest
I don’t think that fairy type is really to blame for Dragons downfall, I just think a lot of people treat it as a scapegoat when truthfully Dragon is still a great typing in the meta.
Fairy being immune makes sense and was reasonable to how powerful Dragon was, especially considering that the majority of Dragons have a crazy good movepool that works around the fairy immunity anyways.
I support “special” types, but I don’t think the only Special type should be Dragon, I just think the reasonable fix is to just ALSO have Fairy be a special and rare type (which makes a lot of sense to me anyways considering that fairy = magic and myths anyways)
Fairy is a strong type because of its general lack of resistances that make it a good jack-of-all-trade special type that can hit most types for neutral.
I once drew an early game rodent that e at roughly level twenty turned scaly, idk why, and was dragon type
That's Awesome! I love fakemon ideas that do things we've never seen
And a couple of days ago I drew a hamster with a metal ball, first steel normal mon, and it's called slamster
What would be kinda cool is if there was a main series game where the region had nothing but dragon Pokémon. The starters, your rival, the gym leaders, everyone had different dragon Pokémon throughout the whole game. Except for the final gym leader and champion (maybe even an Elite 4 member), they would be from another region and all use fairy type Pokémon. I feel like that would make that game pretty hard because everyone you face off against would be evenly matched because you both have counters to each others Pokémon. And the toughest battles would require some serious strategy to get through
Could you do a video like this but about the Steel type? (That's my fav type)
Charizard not being a dragon type is due to the fact that it would be incredibly unbalanced for the starters
True which is why it makes it unlikely we’ll see a dragon starter unless they make the whole trio to where they’re primary type is neutral on each other, which is hard to envision
I especially liked Cyclizar. A modern version of Koraidon, yet not as futuristic as Miraidon. Not powerful like them too, as it looks like the motorcycle one can use for daily utilization
Too be fair, Gyrados should have been a dragon type in gen 1.
And you can even make the argument for the starters. Charizard (Giant flying fire lizard), Venusaur (Dragon toad looking guy) & Blastoise (Dragon turtle).
The addition of fairies and the obnoxious amount of dragons 4x weak to ice and fairy moves has HEAVILY injured dragons overall
Because there is an unwritten rule in monster game franchises that dragons.should have a special place in it.
I don’t think adding more dragons was the problem, but rather how with the open world you can just find tons of them just hanging out in groups. It felt kinda odd in sword and shield to just bike up to a Salamance, throw a quick ball, and leave.
I feel like this applies to fully evolved Pokémon being wild in general.
It's more of a rarity to find actual good bug pokemon
LMAO kricketune fans in shambles
I wanna see a sea lion that is a dragon type and it can turn into a giant leg that kicks you
5:04 you can catch a garchomp instantly by sequence breaking in sv
Which is nuts, cause as of gen 9, ice types now have the least type of Pokémon (sitting at 58) which makes up exactly 5.66% of the total Pokédex.
I really wish dragon and fairy types were rare.
Normalize dragons being common, think about those players who want to do a playthrough only with dragons but couldn't find any since the only ones are in the late game.
I love how open-minded this is, embracing the weird and quirky, assuring that nothing about them is “ruined”
Thanks! I love the way that dragon types have been evolving
Spending an hour in the safari zone for Dratini or maybe dragonair smh yall new players dont know 😂
Honestly I believe that most of these mons pre Gen 3/early Gen 5 were way too rare despite being balanced by the fact that their super strong final forms require late game levels.
They would make a perfect parallel to bug types being early game mons that evolve quickly but fall off late to mid game. Vs. Dragons and pseudos who are powerful late game but are borderline dead weights early game.
It's why I loved trapinch, gible, and noibat. But left constantly frustrated with mons like beldum, larvitar (Ik not dragons but still applies) , and deino.
It would be interesting to hear stories about players ditching these mons early on because of how bad they started out only to run into a npc with the ditched mon's final form defeating their team
In gen 6 when i encountered an Absol and Bagon in the same area, I lost it thinking they were rareish but then I looked up Fairy types...
nice video. off topic but im guessing you used capcut to edit the video
Yeah I mean, I would assume there would be more dragon types as more games came out.....
You forgot Salamence in Alola. It can spawn on SOS for Bagon as early as one of the paths of the first route.
Artificial scarcity by low encounter rates was one of the worst things in the old games good riddance to that shit.
Pokmeon that take so freaking long to reach the final stage that by the time they do the game is practically over is also very stupid don't miss that at all either.
Isn’t Bagon available on route 3 in Pokémon Sun & Moon
It is! Realized it during editing after writing the script but I threw in some b roll of it right at the end. And you can SOS to get salamence too at like level 10 or something which is insane
The franchise desperately needs to use generic Pokémon far more often. We have dozens lines of generic birds, of bugs, of mammals, of fish, of reptiles, and even quite a few generic rock and elemental Pokémon.
We could have an 400+ Pokémon that are just the generic mammal/bug/fish/bird/grass/rock Pokémon.
Seeing other Pokémon could be more of a treat with only a one or two an area initially. Dragons and legendaries could be things that exist at the bottom of late game dungeons or tied to plot.
Even ghost/steel/psychic/dark/fairy should be less common.
But Gamefreak is too inept and won’t do it. They’ll take the short term excitement and shove powerhouse and fan favorite Pokémon everywhere, demystifying them along the way.
Anyone else get like 1% bagon with the 1% salamance joining in to help back in sun/moon?

I don't mind fairy types but they gave them to many resistances. They should make it at least weak to dark and grass types immune since fairies tend to get whooped by evil in fairytails and tend to live in woodlands.
Bug and Ice should resist Fairies.

Dragon type used to be the best type by far.

I disliked that pseudo legendaries are so easy to find in this game. The only rare one was the baxcaliber line. Originally they were supposed to be super rare because they were really strong. Now there are mass outbreaks of them every couple of days
I’ve been thinking this as well, it bothers me a lot honestly. I also think it’s crazy that you can get I think every pseudo, which makes them feel way too common for something that is too powerful
2 of the pseudo lines were locked behind DLC’s for SV and SWSH also I think with Dexit ppl are more happy to see all the pseudos in the game. Ig it just boils down to personal preference. I personally like all of them being available.
I honestly don’t like using dragon. Mostly because it only is super effective against other dragons which are really rare in play throughs.
Wait what Charizard was always dragon i thought u could learn dragon moves
I’m tired of all these pseudo legend dragons. Like damn man, let it go! I want more pseudos like Metagross!
Same! Though tbh I like a lot of dragon pseudos, I’d love to get both a dragon pseudo and non dragon one every gen
You said you’d explain why!
7:12 Tatsugiri doesn't have the same type as Eternatus
They’re both dragon type!
@@FargusPhil Oh, I thought you meant literally the same type completely! Maybe Palkia would be an even better comparison (lord of space and sushi)
Wait till you hear about how common Eevee is.
Or being able to catch starters in the wild.
Did u know birds are reptiles and they have scales on their legs could be why altaria is dragon type
Since This Video 📹 is About Dragon Types 🐉. My Favorite Legendary Pokémon & Favorite Dragon Type 🐉 is eternatus 🐉💀 The Poison/Dragon 🐉💀 Type Monstrous Legendary Pokémon. As eternatus 🐉💀 Have An Amazing Powers, Lore/Origins, Can Warp Spacetime Like The Creation Trio & Facts: Gen 8 Never Gotten A Third Version Like Gen 6. So Pokémon Legends: Eternatus 🎮 Needs To Happen. And eternatus 🐉💀 is The Third Legendary Pokémon For Gen 8.
This is Going To Redeem eternatus 🐉💀 So Much & Gives it The Respect it Deserves. Without A Doubt One Of The Best Legendary Pokémons Ever.
I like the video but your narrative is so flawed xD. Psychics were way stronger in Gen 1. Ther was also only 1 Ghost Line (3 Pokemons) and 4 ice Pokemons (if im not forgetting anything. Are Ghost Pokemons as mythical as Dragons ? Im sry but you are hyping this up way to much xD. And i never felt like i encountered a legendary when i found a dragon. Otherwise cool video. But you are way to dramatic.
My fav dragon is dragonite and from 3rd gen is flygon!!! 🔥
I’m sad you never mentioned ultra necrozma since it’s dragon
Ah I know I love ultra necrozma, it’s so insane. Couldn’t fit in everyone though 😔
Dragons are the main characters and fairy type shouldn't exist.
They came from your mom! 😂😂😂.............sorry.😞
🎉🎉🎉
I really hope they give us a different type of sudo legendary Pokémon we only got Meta and Ttar everything else is literally dragons
From the cool kids 😎 to the cool kids 🤮
I'm so sick of dragon pseudo legendaries. Baxcalibur doesn't even feel remotely legendary compared to something like Ursaluna; an ancient bear that is an apex predator and tank. Especially something like blood moon Ursaluna feels just straight up legendary
