Nice seeing you bring your lessons from the onion knight run into this one with the farming for elixirs and damage dealing items. True character development. Love tha naming of characters, keep it up! Honestly the white mage run sounds interesting but soooo painful, you'd probably have to get creative with that one (or take ages).
The DS version of Cloud of Darkness is SO. MUCH. HARDER!!! her tentacles are 2 separate enemies and they even attack on their own, you can not ignore them either as the damage they do, will overwhelm you, on top of Cloud of Darkness attacking you herself.
The DS versions of 3 and 4 were really hard remakes (in a good way of course). I remember struggling in at the end of the game. I also remember going to Gamefaqs to try to get people's FC so I can send Mognet and unlock Onion Knight.
The PSP version is also a PORT of the DS one so Lightning and Particle beam EVERY turn even at both JOB class and party member lv 99 for BOTH Monk and Black Belt will do OVER 5000 damage EVERY turn so not even 9999 HP will save you when you DIE on the DS/PSP version in only 2 turns IF you don't END the battle on your 2nd turn with 4x Monk/Black Belts.
I sometimes listen to random UA-cam videos while grinding, but that's about it. Good to see you upload again - it's still entertaining, even if Monks can generally punch everything in the face without any issues.
Just watched your FF3 onion Knight challenge, very entertaining, I personally would love to see more of this content and the length of your videos is fine at 30+ minutes, I just feel really engaged listening to your commentary and I look forward to seeing more in the future
I want to tell you a secret my sister taught me: Call your grandmother while you grind. Your mother will appreciate it, your grandma will love it, and you will feel so much better. Grinding is totally brainless anyway so it doesn't take much to multi task and chit chat.
Came here after the Onion Knight vid and man it is night and day difference. Even a very modest starter job is just so much better than the Onion Knight for like 80-90% of the game.
After FF3 only OK (Onion Knights) i will go for my last playthrough for now - i call it the "T.M.N.T- Run" where i develop all 4 heroes from Monk to Black Belts then to Karateka and finally Ninja to own the game Cowabungaa style 😅🤣😂 plus the Martial Arts gain hugh bonuses on Stamina which increase their HP pool very fast helping you out on overcome the "glass cannon" they are by nature.... Congratz on this run!
While grinding I always listen to Fire Emblem music, specially the premium arrange albums. While not a "self impose challenge" i try to play through older JRPGs with as minimal grinding as possible just to see if its possible, depending if i play with a guide. For example in Phantasy Star 2 grinding characters seems pretty much required because they start at lvl 1, and you don't always use a characters until later in the game.
Good taste! I also listen to the FE premium arrange albums when grinding! I have tried playing through Earthbound series and PSOEp1&2 before with minimal grinding before and it feels like some grinding is required. Would love to go revisit some games and try to not to grind at all.
funny thing about Hien, in FF14 he is an NPC that is an ally to you but his appearance in FF3 is more akin to Amon, who is the reincarnation of Hermes in FF14, a being so troubled he is responsible for the hell of not one but TWO worlds, two worlds that are technically the same one.
My only issue with these kinds of videos is that once you do one challenge, any other challenge of easier difficulty becomes kind of pointless. We’ve already seen that you can do this with the weakest class, so it should be a given that it can be done with all monks. A better idea would have been can you beat FF III with only 1 character as that would up the ante, and you can spice it up by not using only one class type. Just my two cents. Love your content btw.
Do you have any interest in Final Fantasy V or VI? I think there's a lot of potential for interesting and different things to do in both of those games, yes even in VI.
I always thought it was kinda disappointing that cloud of darkness was just like a numbers game, no strategy just brute force out damaging and outhealing
At Hein: yeah, besides their weak magic (even with items), the other big issue with the Monks is lousy magic defense. Prorings definately help, al-though the game only gives you 3 so you have to farm one from a Behamoth king, or do without. Good news is that if the enemy doesn't pick magic often you can pretty easily nuke anything (including the cloud of darkness) from Orbit with these guy's absurd attack stats (just make sure you leave them unarmed or else they do bad damage)
At Hecatoncair: yeah, the baccus wine is a great strat (and one I forgot about during my PR onion run), during my playthrough on translated Nes I saved all of those for the end since they are un-buyable and rarely dropped (save for certain glitches.) Though PR greatly increases the drop rate so they'll definatley make the world of darkness and cloud of darkness much easier if you end up farming them.
Thank you! I like that. I'm going to have to take on FFIII with only white mages, it has been a highly requested challenge. The ability to use magic will make for some creative strategies.
10:29 I watch let's play videos, challenge runs, and listens some music, like right now on working on a Can you beat fire emblem the sacred stones with only Cormag my favorite character in that series, and it's the longest thing I've ever worked on my channel

i have to agree made up personal challanges are alot of fun. im trying to see if i can beat call of duty modern warfare 4 using nothing but a pistol on veteran, it isnt easy but it sure is fun to try
10:50 final fantasy tactics is prone to that. I have a low level vid with cup of life and math skilled toad lol. But seriously general rules: no mana shield, auto potion (lifefont is good enough), teleport, arcane strength (buffs speechcraft that can reliably make minions join or bosses sleep/not have a turn, geomancy and iaido) holy, flare, tailwind speed abuse, orlandeau, blood sword equip swords ninja, graviga/invigoration (graviga 2 shots all bosses and invigoration life drains in 4 shots, and can be a war of attrition with defense boost). Some do single class but that's too much effort let alone chapter 1 is easy to cheese giving everyone black magic to own enemies with less speed to dodge and less hp so fire spam can be lethal. I'd also say to ban rend speed as the game is a joke if you dual wield or have some concentration brawler monk doing that (and ch 2 steel maxes bravery better than orator's praise for monk/reaction attacks).
@@javierpg8386 outside the temple . Ride the boat and try to trigger encounters with Sahagins and any other monster in the water. They have a small chance of dropping Antarctic winds. But be careful not to trigger the fight against Nepto.

I also barely had even like 20 to 30 Elixers which in turn is NOT good enough with Lv 85 to lv 90 party members AS JOB LV 99 Black Belts.
