Dude yes! I beg of you to do a full series of the sly trilogy. It is so good. Everything from the stories to the gameplay. The games get better and better. The end of sly 2 might have been the first time I’ve cried from a videogame story as like an 8 year old kid. Sly is the raccoon version of Nathan Drake. Bentley and Murray are annoying but their story and character arcs are nuts. This trilogy would follow up the TR trilogy nicely. Please play it bro 🙏
I’m here watching because I grew up with these games. This game specifically is the first game I ever played. So I am now trying to show as much support as I possibly can for this game, And anyone newly experiencing it.
Great video! Just FYI- the coin counter resets when it hits 100, and you get a second lucky charm. You can have up to 2 charms at a time, the first one is silver/white and the second one is gold. If you have 2 charms already you get another life for every 100 coins. You don't lose coins once you collect them. The clue bottles are also important to get additional abilities, you can go back to any level you've already completed just by using the map.
Heya Apex. Glad you're liking this! FYI, I think you can customize buttons with this new emulator so you can flip the analog direction to be non-inverted if you encounter this in future back-compat PS2 games.
Even these decades later, this game is still so fun for me, its been too long to remember 2 and 3, but i remember 3 had pirate ship battles and i loved that level
Yoooo I loved these games! actually preferred them over Jak and Ratchet. Something about sneaking around all the interesting locations was really appealing I always called it Sly Cooper, dunno why we went with Sly Raccoon lol. Hope you enjoy! Also when you get 100 coins you get a Lucky Charm and the count resets! if you already have a gold charm (aka 2 extra hits) you get an extra life instead
yeah seems like everyone calls it Sly Cooper haha, I can see that aspect too with thievery and stealth compared to Ratchet. Still never played Jak either though
Ah, my whole childhood... I have 100% the classic trilogy. Am a Sly cosplayer, pretty much an addict of this series - can't wait to see what you think of this series man!
This is the first game I've ever personally played, and the series itself still holds up as one of the best in my personal opinion, so i very much hope you enjoy them! Sly 1 isnt the best but its still such a fun game imo
@@thehound55 also a little tip if you run low on lives go into an area and come back out bc in the hub area you can grab the lives and when you go into an area and come back out everything respawns
First time im seeing your channel but if you play this series youll have another subscriber lol this series was my favorite from childhood. Sly 2 was my personal favorite ive played that one a hundred times😂
The only thing I feel sad about when I watch Playthru’s of games like this is what ever happened to the days of just randomly trying different buttons to see what happened or exploring other parts of the levels, even if they weren’t part of the main path just out of curiosity?
I played this game on PS4 iirc. I loved it! I had a PS2 back in the day but never had these games.. or most platformers. I think the only native PS2 platformer I played were I-Ninja and Psychonauts (which was amazing back then).
I will give you one pro tip for this first game. It is beyond worth your while to get all the clue bottles and all the saves as you come across them to help you on your journey through the game. I can guarantee that you won’t find all the abilities to be useful, but I can guarantee that several of them will be. For this reason and sense most of the abilities are unlocked automatically in a certain order, no matter which vault you get them from. You do have to get them all in order to get the ones that will be very useful to you. lastly, unless you’re planning on 100% thing and platinum in the game I can tell you as well that it’s not worth your time to go back and get them after you’ve completed the entire game. they’re really only useful to you if you get them as you work your way through the game. Some of them can be helpful for completing the master teeth sprints if you plan on doing those as well, but still probably not as worthwhile or worth your time for that reason to go back and get them after only worth it if you already have them from getting them as you work through the game.
Once you collect bottles, the hour with you forever, even if you get a game over so if you missed any in previous levels, you can just go back and get the rest of them without having to collect all of them again.
Sly Cooper is a classic trilogy. All 3 games are worth playing if you like the first one. Its a super creative world with great characters and quality writing. Its a reminder how much better and more professional the writing and game design was back when video game developers were hired on merit. Sucker Punch is still one of the best studios on the planet. This was their first game & franchise. Id definitely enjoy seeing it played through. It gets even better in the second game, if you like this one.... Cheers!
32:45- 32:49 yeah but if you would’ve gotten all the bottles from the previous two levels, or at least one of the last levels, you went through and open the vault, you would then have an ability that makes some of those guys easier to hit quickly.
i’ve played the original trilogy done by Suckerpunch (not the 4th by Sanzaru because everything i’ve seen just makes me not wanna ever play it) but the original trilogy is soooo good. Sly 2 is my personal favorite.
This game was a solid 10 out of 10 hope they remake it and bring it to the new console because there so many people who will enjoy it for the first time
You should definitely check out Tomb Raider Legends. The game is kinda easy comparing to the classic TR games, but it's fun and pretty short too, maybe 3-4 hours.
Sly was the first video game I ever played reason for my UA-cam name and my social name best video game franchise ever in my opinion platinum them all on ps3 not sly 4 tho
@@thehound55 i really enjoyed the bits I played of them, I think the 3rd one is his favourite of the series like he had them all on PS2 then when they released the collection (basically a remake) for the PS4 he got that
100% want to see this continued! This is my whole childhood.

Nice one man, I’m interested in playing more for sure so will see how the audience reacts! So far so good🤝

I could probably play the second one with my eyes closed. Sly 2 will probably always be my favorite videogame.

Sly Cooper is one of the best game series till this day! Have a blast mate!! All 4 games are amazing.
Cheers mate
I'm excited to see some more of sly Cooper apex

Yeah I did it in this video shortly after! Cheers man
Sly Cooper was the first game i ever played beginning to end, im happy to see more playhoughs of these games
I recommend getting all the clue bottles in each level. You get a new ability or upgrade each time.

Omg yes dude! I didn't think I could be happier than the tomb raider series 🎉🎉🎉
Haha let’s go
Sly was the first video game I ever played reason for my UA-cam name and my social name best video game franchise ever in my opinion platinum them all on ps3 not sly 4 tho
Damn you’re a beast
i played parts of most of them but my brother has completed all of the sly games he says they are his fav game franchise of the games he has played
Nice, I'll try get on your brothers level haha
@@thehound55 i really enjoyed the bits I played of them, I think the 3rd one is his favourite of the series like he had them all on PS2 then when they released the collection (basically a remake) for the PS4 he got that
It's legitimately painful to me that you aren't grabbing every single clue bottle.
I go for pretty much every one after this vid tbf hahaha
Never seen or heard of it until now never even played it either I saw your thumbnail and so I was curious as to how it goes, seems like fun actually.
For sure
Sony would add Sly Cooper to PS Plus premium after I cancelled my subscription 😭
Hahaha damn it
You can buy it without needing ps plus premium. It cost around 10€
2002 or 2001
Try Tomb raider legend ps2
Will be playing that after completing 3 I think
