It’s hard to get into Seinfeld just watching clips. The beauty of Seinfeld is how each episode is constructed, and how the jokes keep repeating and building in each episode.

I wouldn't do the top 25 if I was them. I'd just watch all the episodes in full up until season 7, the last two seasons were crap and unwatchable. Seinfeld was a cultural phenomenon but I would've picked better scenes than the ones they just saw if I had to pick a top 25. If they could watch only one episode, it would be "The Contest" of course, it's a classic.

Correct. Although I think that with so many people watching "Family Guy" best-of-snippets, the assumption is that any sitcom can be judged by 10-second clips. Very untrue of Seinfeld, you have to at least watch the entire episode to figure out what's going on.

    • @ElizabethT45

Seinfeld set the bar for 90’s & up comedy. Even set the bar for Friends. Every modern day comedy series was built around how Seinfeld delivered lines & jokes. One thing that made Seinfeld so great was how the dialogue in the show felt so real, like a real conversation.

Could take 8 hours to download a single song. Another interesting thing to see is how people got around without constantly being in touch, like the one episode where they try to all meet up to see a movie and the struggles of getting everyone together in one place, is something that kids today cant relate with.

Seinfeld is intellectually funny, as you're not going to get it from just clips. You have to watch the full episodes 😊💜

I wasn’t into this show when it first came out. But everyone I knew including my fam watched it. Then one day it was on in the background and I overheard the guys talking about “a show about nothing” and I couldn’t turn away ..suddenly I “got the show” and laughed my assoff at every episode after. As the show progress the situations get more and more ridiculous and the way every episode gets wrapped up is sheer genius

I fall asleep with Seinfeld on every night 😂 it's familiar so I don't feel like I'll end up staying up to see what happens (I need to have tv on to fall asleep), it never gets old, and everything in life can remind you of an episode!

Yeah I think you need to watch whole episodes. And it often mimics pop culture moods , ironies ,events , popular movies and such of the time. So sometimes might not be as good to someone who doesn’t know what the episode is relating to. Hope that makes sense. Was one of my favorite shows

Aww so cute you gave it a try... You so serious thou... These clips don't make much sense though if you haven't watched the entire episodes. The stories and characters build up masterfully. I watched all seasons all epidodes many times and never get tired. I love Elaine's character ❤️

My wife is from the Philippines and had never seen a single episode when she arrived in the US. I gradually introduced her to it, and now she can probably provide a lengthy description of each character. Her favorite episodes are "The Scofflaw" and "The Conversion". I agree with many other commenters here that to truly appreciate the show you need to watch full episodes over time. The characters are addicting, and the humor has many levels!

The genius od Seinfeld was how tight the writing was. They would start with several different storylines, and at the end all the storylines would converge in some hilarious way. You need to watch a full episode.
A few of my favorite episodes -
"The Hamptons", Season 5, episode 21.
This is where the term "shrinkage" came into popular texicon.
Or "The Marine Biologist" season 5, episode 14.
Or "Soup Nazi", season 7, episode 6.

Going into it thinking that this is the best sitcom ever then you are already expecting to be amazed but the beauty of this show was that it was, like they put it, "about nothing". Also, I have noticed that this show is mostly appreciated by New Yorkers.

Yes do part 2 and 3… when you get to the top 10 you’re gonna see why people loved it so much. Also.. just seeing the clips on some of these, you don’t get what the episode was about leading up to the clip to understand WHY it’s funny. It was also the 90’s and comedy was completely different than it is today. There’s sooooo many episodes that were my favorite I can’t even name them all. Kramer (the tall guy) was my favorite! His scenes were the best!
