Wow. 4 hours... simply unbelievable. It would've taken me 4 weeks to get the squad painted, and not at that level. Great video, as always! Truly inspiring.
It really is a matter of trusting the process and taking shortcuts wherever possible! There's so much work that Marco is able to do with an airbrush that I would probably have to use a regular brush for... guess I'll have to practice my airbrush precision!
Sooooooo I started playing KillTeam 😋! I needed to add a more mainstream title to the roster of indie skirmish games I play and the channel was lacking a sci-fi offer, so the new edition landed with a perfect timing! Now that I don't have to "worry about" painting competitions until the end of March, expect to see a variety of games and warbands 😉😁
Yes! Marco! I love this work. So happy you are dabbling in SciFi! I'm still holding out for a Tyranid but this one is so good. I really loved the commentary on picking an unsettling colour palet instead of a complimentary colour palet. Thank you for your teaching and I'm really excited to see more 40k work from you!
Thanks for bringing back the high quality speed painting excellence you created with Warcry and have expanded to Kill Team. These videos have always been amazing!
Wow I am always amazed by your painting vids you make it look so easy I been watching your videos for a long time 8 don't comment on videos to often, but just wanted to let you know me and my son love your videos and have learned so much about technics and paint mixing. Thank you for all your hard work look forward to seeing what you do next..
Lovely models :) What a refreshing approach to white. Genuinely straightforward and really crisp. Can't wait to see some non-GW models in the near future!
Simply amazing Marco! Glad to have the footage on Patreon so I can check for the small details. Also thanks for introducing me to Molotow so many videos ago. I love them to bits.
Just what I needed, Marco thank you 🙏 I've been watching and rewatching your grimdark Stormcast video about 100000 times this week as I start my new project. Really appreciate your content!
Lately I found myself trying to emulate your painting style more and more in my minis. Your "speedpainting" videos are amazing guides to color and effects! You don't teach technique all that much, but your colors are magic!
Interesting to see you experiment using Molotow paints with the brush. Using them for blocking in colors, edge highlights and weathering makes a lot of sense.
@@AJ12LFC I'm going for official Heretic Legion and Pilgrims and I plan to kitbash my models for a couple of other factions!!! Super curious to see the evolution of the setting and the offer of warbands after the crazy response to the Kickstarter
Its more a testimony to amazing skill and combination of techniques than an actionable tutoriel for me. My understanding is that oils are doing the heavylifting. Is there a way to emulate this with other types of paints ?
Marco - what's your airbrush setup? Do you have multiple brushes with different needle sizes at once, or do you change your needle sizes as and when needed? Love work as always, your spraying control always astounds me
Amazing job Marco! Great to see sci-fi approach! This said … any chance of seeing a Great Unclean One on the channel? 😂Would love to see what you can do with a messier look in a miniature like this one! 👌🏻
Epic results Marco!!! I’m fascinated by the Molotow acrylics you used. Are these their paint pen refills? Want to pick some up to try them through the airbrush
When you do an oil wash do you first coat the mini with a gloss coat? Or do you put it on directly to your airbrushed paint? How long do you leave the oil paint before you remove it with the mineral spirits?
The way you use oil paints to get the colour you want blows my mind! How do you leave so much of the stained colour behind after you clean your models? I seem to always end up with the same base colour after I wipe them eith a makeup sponge
Hi Marco, I would like to make my own white pin wash using oil paint. Do you think that Winton Titanium White from Winsor & Newton would be enough or do I need to look into a more pigmented line? Thanks, love the content. Ciao.
For white and stronger, more luminous effects (like a plasma coils glow for example) is definitely better to use something more pigmented from an artist grade line (any brand!) 😉
Awesome video. Sorry if I have missed this before, but I was wondering, do you think the Molotow at all in the airbrush, and if so, how much and what do you thin it with? Thanks!
So you've talked a lot about doing a zenithal but replacing the black with a complementary color that you can combine with a semi-transparent base-coat to make a complex chromatic black shadow; under what circumstances is it OK for that tone to be more saturated/brighter than that base color? I'm particular interested in when using a florescent color for that first step would be a good decision and what sorts of techniques you would recommend to continue such a project to make it look good. For instance if you were paining some blood angels could you start with a base coat of a florescent green then give them a white zenithal before going over the whole mini with a red speed paint/ink?
It's the same Payne's Grey used in the mix for the pin wash of the panel lines used as a filter! Williamsburg Payne's Grey is extremely blue, especially when applied in transparency over a luminous base; usually it's way more dull, but that specific tube is basically a dark blue

Did you ever get around to painting Vizzik Skour? I can't see a video around of it.
@martinmountford1981 Painted and recorded 😉, but I have to space a bit the Skaven content 😅
Welcome to kill team.
please do more kill team! :D
Please marco do a team of kommandos🙏
Guy... I missed so much your videos on YT ! thank you and please do more !!!!!!
OMFG, these are beyond beautiful. They feel... alive!
Super super super appreciated!!! I tried to catch that "real creature" vibe and i'm super happy it translates!!!!
you are more accurate with that airbrush than i am with an actual brush
Those colours are so vibrant. This warband just pops so well.
They look amazing that orange is gorgeous.
Incredible as ever Marco! Absolutely love the wings!
Yay new video, was just re-watching black templar and magnetic terrain board vids last night and now we have a new one.

Thanks partly to you Marco I have switched almost entirely to oil colors. Even when I add details - much easier to fix a mistake than with acrylics.
Awesome ….. as ever. !!! I love watching your content and always get some great ideas and techniques. Thanks Marco
You did the whole unit in the time it took me to do one only. You're the wizard of the airbrush and make it look so easy it's insane.

Awesome work. Gonna try to mimic it in 8 hours over the weekend. Guess that's still optimistic.
I want to see you paint up a Trench Crusade warband when possible, I think you have the potential to do the coolest one on the internet!

They look fantastic!
Just too good 😮
Always a pleasure to watch you paint!
Great stuff. I didn't like those models. Now I do.
Love these sort of squad-painting videos! Hope you eventually paint some Beastmen for Mordheim.
i still have Tau to paint, I'm going to use Negro Gold from now on, looks lovely
4 hours... that would be the basecoat for me.
Please do ultramarine. I would love to see how you paint them in this style!
love it so much! So good!
Loved your videos for a long time and you have finally conviced me to use my oil paints on my new orks army!
wow!!! those look amazing!!
Awesome work mate, it's definately inspired to pick back up the oils for the next gaming project
Great video, looking forward to painting these guys!
Fantastic work!
We all need some more orange painting schemes in our lives!
Awesome paint job!
Maravilloso resultado!! Bravísimo 🔥
i love your videos Master Marco!
This is why I need to get confident in using an air brush.
Back in time for exactly the thing I'm painting!
Impressive work as always, my friend
Very nice indeed!
Awesome as usual mate - I really love the new Vespids and you did them justice!
Amazing!
i'm part of a mantic gaming group that plays Deadzone and Firefight in Dublin. i play Enforcers

Hope you will paint Trench Crusade once out. Wanna imitate your style.
Hoping it will be a speed grim dark! 😀

Welcome back Marco!
Inspiring as always Marco 👍
its look great! thank you)
Exclellent Work Marco!
Hope you come back to paint some Infinity minis with N5 releasing!

is it a good idea to use matt varnish before oil washes? and what carnish should i use on vehicles before oil washes?
Marco Please do BLOOD ANGELS my man.

This is so good. Sadly I am afraid of using oils in my home with an open window, due to the white spirit.... 😞
Great job. I've been waiting for this tutorial since KT came out.
Is there any chance for a tutorial from tyranids?

Was that just one pass with that single mixture combination of burnt umber, ruby and orange oils on the carapace/bodies? Inspiring stuff always Marco!
Any chance you'll do some Infinity models? Would love to see your take on some of them?
High quality speed paint a 1k army ❤
@@andrewpiggott2158 Nice challenge! I was thinking about doing something with the Spearhead boxes...
Hi Marco, Great tutorial. Are you using any varnish between base coat, oils and acrylics steps?
How long do you let the oils dry?
When you do an oil wash do you first coat the mini with a gloss coat? Or do you put it on directly to your airbrushed paint? How long do you leave the oil paint before you remove it with the mineral spirits?
in the grim darkness of the far future, there are ants with guns and wings
The way you use oil paints to get the colour you want blows my mind! How do you leave so much of the stained colour behind after you clean your models? I seem to always end up with the same base colour after I wipe them eith a makeup sponge
So the wash should be thin enough that it wouldn't stain the upper surfaces too much?

Stunning work! Just wondering for the armored heads, how did you shade the white with blue? Was it more oil washing?
do you thin the molotov paints in the cup of the brush? or are they good to go out the tube
They are good to go as they are from the tube!
What did you do to the airbrush cup? Do you hold the airbrush a bit unusually and had to make space for you thumb or what finger?
Hi! Do you varnish the model before doing the oil wash? Thank you!
Hi Marco! One question, whats the blue shadow in the white armor like the helmets?
It's the same Payne's Grey used in the mix for the pin wash of the panel lines used as a filter! Williamsburg Payne's Grey is extremely blue, especially when applied in transparency over a luminous base; usually it's way more dull, but that specific tube is basically a dark blue
@MarcoFrisoniNJM Uh! Thank you. It's a great shadow color. It seems almost turquoise on video. It's really unbelievable what you get oils to do!
Oh great one - some super up close airbrushing - what's the PSI and are those paints straight from the bottle?
Quick one - are all molotow refills you use work as primers also?
Awesome job
What psi are you using on the molotow inks?
