After several months of abstinence from gaming I've started playing regularly again and... I immediately felt the urge to speed paint a new warband! And I want more!!! I need more warbands!!! MOOOOOOORE!!!
What are you feeling for your next paintjob? If you're feeling clean, I'd love to see your take on the neat, almost porcelain look of the Lumineth Realm Lords, AKA the cow elves. If you're feeling messy and grungy, maybe some Gloomspite Gitz?
Your talent is ungodly to an almost hilarious degree. I've been painting, and fairly well, for 30 years, and every video of yours makes me say "WHAT?!? HOW? REALLY?!" You are fantastic and a gift to the hobby!
This is my favorite "speed a warband" video for several different reasons: - best sculpts (I know it's subjective but still) - great color scheme - thorough explanation (even more so than normal) - best bases so far
I have been watching miniature painting content religiously on youtube for the past year and when I first started watching content one of the first people I watched was you. In all honesty I found it a little complicated and confusing and so didnt watch you at all up until a couple days ago. I have seen about 5 of your videos now and it has absolutely changed the way I view color theory in practice. By the end of this video where you were talking about painting the shadows on the cloaks in magenta I was like yea that makes a lot of sense and it dawned on me that even 3 days ago that would not have made anywhere close to as much sense as it did just now. Thank you so much and keep up the great content
I have no doubt this will be a 500k sub channel in the near future. Marco's impact on the mini painting community is huuuuuuge and way beyond the supposed sub count of this channel.
Marco, you can't go overboard with these videos, or indeed any of your videos. I just learn so much each time I watch. Thank you for all that you do to make the process understandable and attainable.
Ever since you got me onto oil painting for miniatures I have been crushing out better minis faster than ever. They are truly a game-changer. The smooth blends and slow set-time avoids all the tedium and stress that comes with tons of thin acrylic glazes. And although they set slower, paradoxically you can actually work so much faster as you don't have to worry about making sure each thin glaze is set--as nothing is worse on this earth than spending 2 hours painting a really good-looking face then tearing your third-to-last layer and having to start all over!
I was thinking you were losing the orange a bit after the yellow highlight, but once you added the magenta, it was like magic! Seeing the orange pop back was incredible. I would have never in a million years thought about using a technique like that. Also thank you for explaining the color theory rationality of why you did that.
Man the speed painting of warbands is my favourite content from you! Keep it coming, im sure everyone here would be happy to see more of this :) Thanks for everything Marco, you are a reference for so many!
While I love all your videos your warband painting videos are just the best! I'm always looking to get better at painting fast and these videos have helped me so much
Another incredible result, sir! Would love to see your take on a blood bowl team some time.. the bright sports team colours and the chipping/weathering make for an interesting contrast, I’m sure you would make it look easy!
This is ridiculously good! They look fantastic. The skin and the robes are the really draw the eyes. You really are an expert at focusing on the right places of the model to create maximum impact!
"Time for transparency". Me: But Marco, you are always absolutely transparent and explain really well...Oh, you mean the colors. That makes more sense =)
Your explanations as you paint and describe your process are so cerebral, they really do explore a deeper understanding of volume, color, and light. As someone who spends a lot of time thinking about the process, and should probably spend more time painting, I really enjoy listening to your videos to hear more about the thought behind the work, in addition to the wonderful techniques you employ. Keep up the amazing work, Marco! 👏
I was going to ask for the Jade Obelisk, too. But I have the splintered fang build and waiting for paint, so a video on that would also be really cool and helpful!
I absolutely love your Speed Painting videos! You’re such an inspiration and have to keep this up!! In my opinion you’re one of the best and unique painters out there 🍺
Well, this is right on time. I just used your Rotmire Creed video as a reference to paint that warband last week....and I have a primed Askurgan Warband sitting on my desk needing to be painted this weekend.
I have been admiring your work for a little time now. New figures are wonderful! P.S. I watch videos on a big tv with mega resolution and I have to say that when you move them they really come out of the screen, in the static photos they are as beautiful and perfect, as if they were sketched in 3d.. Perfect job!
You are such an inspiration! And a really good tutor. Love your happy tone and accent as well. I consider myself a pretty good miniature painter but you my friend are a true artist. Wish I was half as talented. I guess I have to practice even more and spend less time on youtube 😂. Looking forward to your next video. Perhaps a Kill Team?
I'm excited to see some Kill Teams as I love the 40k setting. I'd love to see your approach for speed painting, but also having a multi-cultural squad. Most warbands when speed painted cut corners by standardizing skin tones, but I always struggle to keep my time down when I try.
Wonderful work! My vote would be for the Claws of Karanak! I think both warbands from the Bloodhunt box are fantastic! Hopefully we see you playing Warcry at Adepticon! :)
Hello Marco, thank you for all the great videos. You singlehandedly made me see colour-composition completely different and made me change my approach to painting by experimenting and trying out new styles and techniques and thereby improve my painting-skills a lot. Thanks for that as well! Because I am not nearly good enough for all the fancy lightsource-painting (always blows my mind), I realy enjoy seeing you paint batches of miniatures ment for playing (although I watch the other videos in ore, as well). What I would realy like to see you paint, is sth. from GW middleearth-range. For one thing, because it is the system I paint and play the most. For another, because I think it would be an interesting "challange". Nether style-wise nor from a skill-perspevtive. But in many of your miniatures it seems like you make most decisions with colourtheory in mind, from a compositional point of view. I would realy like to see you explaining your thought process while deciding how to paint for example a bunch of Rohirrim, for they have a very small variety of color (mailny browns and greens) while beeing rather toned down and "realistic" looking, in comparison to many fantasy-styled miniatures you paint. In your gladiator-video you said sth. like you would normaly put some dramatic highlights or shadows here and there, but because you wanted it "more realistic", you had to work around that. So my question is: How would you "speed-paint" some of the old, flat looking LotR-miniatures quite realisticly, but in batch capacity so you could pump out 1 miniature in
This has got to be my favourite GW kit of the last year, and I loved everything about your process to bringing them right out to life. (*To undeath?) Plus, as someone putting together a bright orange army atm, I'm going to be rewatching this for weeks!
Great work. I wish one of my models would look nearly that good after 7h and you did several models :). Yes it's your job, and you are a professional artist but holy cow this looks so nice for "speedpaint"
After several months of abstinence from gaming I've started playing regularly again and... I immediately felt the urge to speed paint a new warband! And I want more!!! I need more warbands!!! MOOOOOOORE!!!
Blood for the blood god next? 🙏🙏 the Khorne boys from this box look so cool would love to see them in your style!

All of them! 🙌
I'd love to see Jade Obelisk, Tzeentch is my fave and it'd be lovely to see some inspiration!
Here's the closest to a B movie of Shaolin vampires... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_the_7_Golden_Vampires
Your talent is ungodly to an almost hilarious degree. I've been painting, and fairly well, for 30 years, and every video of yours makes me say "WHAT?!? HOW? REALLY?!" You are fantastic and a gift to the hobby!
Getting all of these models done, to that standard, within just 7 hours - is absolutely beyond my comprehension - that's amazing.
This is my favorite "speed a warband" video for several different reasons:
- best sculpts (I know it's subjective but still)
- great color scheme
- thorough explanation (even more so than normal)
- best bases so far
This high quality speed painting series is absolute favorite painting videos on youtube!
I gotta say, of all the 'speed-painters' on youtube, you are by far the most talented, clear and informative.
I must have watched this half dozen times and literally have notes written 😅
It was a pleasure to watch this video. Thank you!

I love this style of video, they're always worth multiple watches.

Best type of video by far.
Oooooh that red. Smoother than a babies bottom. Must try that technique. I think your war band speed painting videos are my favourite. Thanks! 🤘🏻

Wow! I've seen all your speedpainting videos, and this is by far my favorite
Lovley paintjob! Hope to see moore from you!
Marco, you can't go overboard with these videos, or indeed any of your videos. I just learn so much each time I watch. Thank you for all that you do to make the process understandable and attainable.

Glad to see you back!
I think this is great. My only complaint is that we need MOREEEEE
Ahhhhh !!! the marco I love, please continue with all the warbands you have 🙂

It's been a while since I've had a chance to watch a Marco video. This reminds me what I've been missing. Great work! Fun subjects!
I didn't know my life was missing a B movie about Shaolin vampires until watching this video, and now I can't think about anything else. :)
fantastic work Marco!
If you ever get the chance, would be great to see your take on Necromunda gangs
I love everyone of your videos but the speed painted warbands are still my favorite!
Thanks for another great video full of teachings !
Man the speed painting of warbands is my favourite content from you!

Thanks for everything Marco, you are a reference for so many!
Incredible and as informative as usual! Can't wait for some Gloomspite Gitz 😁
Love this war band but the way you painted it makes me love them even more! Inspirational as always, thank you!
Hi, can u tell me what war band is, and where can I buy it?
@@renoezetoff1028 That warband comes in the Gamesworkshop Warcry Bloodhunt box set. I'm sure they will eventually sell it separately though.
@@jeffanctil4857 Thx. 😉

Yes! I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it, I would love to see Marco's take on a BB team.
I second this!
@@marcusmellqvist4769 Thirded.
Agreed! Would love to see a BB-team by Marco!
That would be awesome to see!
SLAVES TO DARKNES NEXT!
This is ridiculously good! They look fantastic. The skin and the robes are the really draw the eyes.
You really are an expert at focusing on the right places of the model to create maximum impact!
These Warcry painting videos are my favourite! :)
Amazing orange!
Stunning as always
Wonderful video Marco.

I was going to ask for the Jade Obelisk, too. But I have the splintered fang build and waiting for paint, so a video on that would also be really cool and helpful!
Marco, every video you post is amazing, but this kind of videos are excepcional, they help a lot with our endless grey tide
Incredible as always :D thank you
Love it when I learn a new technique; going to add "oil highlights" to my bag of tricks. Incredible work!
my dude, these videos are a blessing so for me you'll never go overboard with them, keep doing these!
Just started the video, but I already want to say I would be very interested in seeing the work on the bases.
They turned out great, Marco! I really enjoyed the video, too. Keep up the good work!
Oh my those are just fantastic, I love the enthusiasm and energy you put into your videos. Very inspiring
Amazing, as always!
Those turned out sooo well Marco! A very inspiring video :) I love how bold you are with the blacks.
Amazing as always! The way you used the white oil for highlights especially was so good to see.
I absolutely love your Speed Painting videos! You’re such an inspiration and have to keep this up!! In my opinion you’re one of the best and unique painters out there 🍺
Shaolin vampires 💪🔥🔥🔥
Amazing work !!
For your next warband any from the Necromunda range would be cool.
Lovely Work
Another great one, got a tons of Warcry bands to paint, will experiment some stuff on them ! You're a great source of inspiration.
They look beautiful!
Well, this is right on time. I just used your Rotmire Creed video as a reference to paint that warband last week....and I have a primed Askurgan Warband sitting on my desk needing to be painted this weekend.

Thanks a million!!!🤩I'm always a bit worried by that kind of "magnification" 😅 and I'm super glad they hold up 😁
Voting for T’au team (would love to see how you combine color theory, story telling with your mécha techniques) and especially Death Korea of Krieg!
I will try this and see how it comes out
My body is ready!
Beautiful Marco! Thanks for sharing. I need to do some orange and that skin looks great.
Your work is amazing your skills and knowledge are mind blowing
Shaolin Vampires?!? OMG this is amazing!
I came here to hear Marco say chromatic sketch, in his most excellent way :)

Blood Bowl Vampire counts team definitely
Hi Marco, amazing work as usual. Any notes on how you made the bases?
