After a few years of changing my after work routine, I finally feel like the habits I've incorporated really help calm me down and help me sleep. Decreasing stress, eating healthy, and getting quality sleep are the three things I focus on for all around good health.

I try to do different relaxing routines, for example today I took a shower right after work, made a hair and a face mask and now drinking tea while listening to the rain outside and watching youtube

What kind of hair mask are you using?
That sounds lovely. I have a toddler and this just isn't feasible. Sometimes I can escape for 15mins if I put on his favorite show but before long he's calling for me to come play with him. My hubby works two jobs so it's just me and my little man most evenings.

For me... Every day, you should ask yourself, what did I do to make tomorrow better? If you have this attitude, even if your life sucks, months, years later, you will be surprised how much better your life is. Plan, prepare, execute, evaluate, rinse and repeat and an awesome life just starts to occur naturally. It doesn't have to be groundbreaking change every day; it can be, reorganizing your closet. Many of us have too many first world "problems" and don't realize how lucky we are. I love how she has some routines, such as making tomorrow's lunch in the evening. If you don't have these routines, make a step change. Small changes add up. But NEVER STOP; constantly look for an opportunity to make tomorrow better. Smile, be happy and enjoy life!

How? You do too much. When I come home from work I go straight to my bed. Everything from my neck to my feet hurt.
Josephine yes when I was pregnant I even use to remove my make up on bus and literally drop dead on my bed 😂.

I know what you mean. I guess it depends when she finishes . I finish 7pm . And sometimes I'm late . You should like a hard worker like me . I'm usually aching . As we give too much . So don't be hard on yourself. Each to thier own . I clean up the weekend . And if it doesn't get done . I don't worry. I llve by myself .

Jordan your video is amazing^^ I love your de-stress routine. Mine is usually going for cardio and HIIT sessions after work. I love getting all sweaty, sore yet satisfied after the session. Then I'd go back home, shower & prepare a simple meal of pan seared salmon with spinach, tomatoes and sprinkle of parmesan cheese for taste. I eat while watching tv, bad habit I know but that's how I relax after a long day ^^
I love your routine! I used to workout in the afternoon and miss that feeling...maybe I will try it again! Our rule is, if we can eat it from a bowl, we watch TV while eating dinner :) haha!

My hubby makes me laugh too, which was much needed when we went through a tough time caring for his dad with dementia. The trouble came from ex sister in law not his dad. His dad now in a home and I do volunteer work at the local dementia support group that helped us soo much with my father in law.
I like this after work routine!! My routine depends on the day. Sometimes alone with a book and other times video games or time with my husband. I LOVE spaghetti.

I'm looking forward to making some of your chickpea tuna salad. I must make some bread to go with it. Also I bought 1lb of nutritional yeast which I've never even tried before so perhaps I've got enough to last a life time and the use by date maybe a sword of Damocles hanging over my head. Luckily there are quite a lot of vegan recipes which call for it.
I hope you like the chickpea tuna salad! I haven't made my own bread in a long time...but there is nothing better than homemade bread! The taste is incredible.

Aw thank you! :) Simple is my jam...Honestly my favorite salad combo would have to be a bed of lettuce + roasted sweet potatoes (seasoned with cumin or chili powder) + black beans + avocado + salsa. I just mix the salsa and avocado in to make the dressing!

Between half and apple being a snack and the chili powder being spicy lol 😂 definitely different appetites/taste buds. But the spaghetti does look yummy!!!

when i get home I find myself to tired to do any if that. I use to walk my girls in the morning and at night but I am just so tired. It's weird actually because I feel like I come back to life when i sit down and watch tv. lol I want to try going to bed early and the yoga pose.
Some days I am more drained and definitely don't have the energy to do all these routines. It's so important for me to listen to my body and not give it what it needs. Sometimes that does include vegging out and watching Netflix!

Ok we are the same person 😂 right when I️ get home from Work I️ clean my dishes from my lunch box and put away dry ones, I️ don’t have a dog but I️ do play with my cat for a bit:) then I️ make dinner and I️ made brown rice noodles and homemade sauce too!! Hahah wth. Packed I️t for lunch tomorrow as well, and I️ had over night oats this morning 😂 I️ also have a night time tea and do some yoga before bed! Subscribing 💕

Haha, great point. When I have a 13 hour clinical day at the hospital, I definitely don't do all these things. This is just an ideal day.

What a beautiful place you live in! Do you have a video for people who work 12-hour shifts? It's dark when I leave for work and it's dark when I come home. I feel like winding down and relaxation is impossible. Thank you so much
I've been 13 hour clinicals at the hospital and I completely agree - it is SO HARD especially in the winter. Our bodies rely on the cycle of light and dark for proper hormone regulation. So it's totally normal you're feeling wired by the time you get home. I have found chamomile tea and simplifying a night routine, like this one very helpful. Also finding an easy read - like a fiction book to read for 20 minutes before bed puts me right to sleep!
@@jordanwaddell I ordered a book that's going to be out in January. I can't wait. I walk the dogs a bit even if it's dark. I find it grounding, like back to "reality". I work in behavioral health. Do you mind if I ask what you do now? Are you still in nursing?

It is called The Five Minute Journal - highly recommend! I had not been journaling and it makes it super easy to get started. I believe you can get it on Amazon :)

What’s your spaghetti recipe? It looks so good
Thanks Melissa! It changes all the time, but I usually saute some onion and garlic then add some jarred marinara (I like Muir Glen brand or a local tomato sauce) and either brown lentils or Beyond Meat crumbles! Sometimes I add some peppers, carrots, celery or greens. If I want it spicy like I did here, I add some chili powder (1-2 tsp depending on how spicy you like it!)

Jordan, you're a natural, I had no idea you were making these incredible videos! I finally know someone that's a UA-cam sensation, in my book. You have sparked my interest in transitioning to a healthy eating lifestyle. I have a few bad eating habits that I would like to change (Chips, processed foods, etc.). I have always been curious about eating more plant-based items, unfortunately, with all the information available it can be overwhelming to a "new comer". I had the opportunity to visit Trader Joes and Whole Foods(pricey) but I wasn't sure what items would work best for me.Sorry to be so long-winded, I will definitely take some time to watch more of your videos. The food we eat has such an impact on our health - physical and mental ;) You're exactly right about the confusion going on with which diet is best what foods are bad, etc. My general philosophy is that no one condemns fruits and veggies so I make sure those are in every meal. That's what is nice about the term "plant based" you can define what it means for you!
