Careful about keeping your mattress directly on the floor. They need airflow, so mold will develop underneath if you sleep on it directly on the floor.

@@jlynn6465because it’s not a CHOICE. In HK, this is all most people can afford if not less. That’s why it’s bad. The housing is so expensive and bad, that the only option most people have are apartments like this, some which are literally smaller than a parking lot.

I love it. If you're not very rich it's now hard to get a reasonably sized flat in places like London and Hong Kong. I lived in a studio flat for years. I organised/decorated it well (thanks IKEA), it was well-located for work and affordable. And most importantly, I was very happy there.

@dejaysam How much space would be perfect for you? I live solo and I feel about 300ft2 would be perfect for me. I lived in a 500ft2 studio in NYC and it was way too much space. I now have a one-bedroom outside NY that is 600ft2 and I don’t like all the space I am not using. It also encourages me to have a lot of things I don’t need. I prefer not to have a roommate situation bc I do prefer living alone. I don’t plan to renew my current lease. I want to downsize.

Good for you for being so positive but can’t help feeling sad for today’s youngsters in HK. I grow up in HK in the 80’s before moving to NY in my teenage years. My family had very little to start with but my parents worked hard to go from renting a shared flat of 400 sq feet to buying a 700 sq feet flat an flipping that to a 900 sq feet flat on the island at Kennedy Road. I remember my room was about 100 sq feet at the rental but was able to get to about 150 later.
How time changes. HK today is not the city I love and grow up anymore.

Then you need to organise it and make the most out of the space even more, leave some space in the middle empty if you can and put more mirrors to make it look and feel better, I wish you the best girl, stay healthy and please put bed frame under that bed so it doesn’t mold. I think it’s perfectly good place to live. My dorm room was not bigger than this - kitchen. My kitchen was shared. And I’ve studied in one of the best universities in England…. And it wasn’t even in London. So her room is very normal

Bless your heart you are so adorable. The rice cooker comment made me laugh so hard, it totally caught me off guard. Someone asked what a place this size costs... did you reply? I know you've moved, but I'm curious. ❤

Hi and so sorry for my late reply. Unfortunately I can't reveal the exact price of this house but it was around 5000-6000 HKD :)

Oh, well, you’re so sweet and pretty and you have such a calm voice😘. But seeing this place, I should apreciate more mine’s which I always thought about it that is crowded and narrow. How can you shower there? I can imagine the water going all over the toilet and the sink. And the rent is so expensive for what this room offers😢.

Thank you for your kind comment! Yes the water does go everywhere but you gotta live with what you get 😢

It looks pretty decent for a small place. Bathroom's reasonable despite the size, at least your showerhead isnt above the toilet bowl.
