Srixon is the most under rated golf brand. All their clubs are top notch and a good value.
Agreed... the v-sole in the irons is spectacular, on top of being a top quality forging. I found last series of driver spun too much for me. Never tried the woods. Obviously Cleveland wedges are top in class. Don’t forget best in class ball value too.
Well I wouldn’t say good value 700$ for the ZX7
That's an understatement Srixon makes as good a driver as Callaway TaylorMade if you watch this video you will see Michael Newton carry it 307 total distance of 335 he tests every Club that's come out this year and nothing goes further I have last year Srixon 785 and it is a bomb I did professional long drive for 17 years I am 70 years old and I still clock 114 swing speed 165 ball speed with a Srixon driver you can buy a used z785 for under $200 with a diamana shaft in it you can't beat it if you want to spend 550 by the zr7
@@ricktwist1935 I agree Srixon make good drivers but are they a fair bit better than Taylormade and Callaway as it’s the same price , you can also get a cobra radspeed which is also a great driver and it’s 100$ cheaper. So is the Srixon for the price more appealing to buyers ? Probably not as they don’t advertise nearly as much as the other brands . That being said I have a ZX7 as I wanted to be different than everyone else 👌. Cheers
Looks like the drivers have caught up with Srixon's great irons! Good to see
Absolutely love srixon. I play the srixon 945 blades and the 65 series driver and fairway wood. Buttery blades and added distance to my driver
put the 5 in the bag!!! wow great numbers awesome review as always!
If you’re reading this the Srixon ZX7 driver is awesome , great looks solid off the face a nice louder ping off the face which personally I like . I had the Callaway Epic Speed driver as well and gotta say I’d take the Srixon. Hope this helps . Cheers .
Gonna look for a ZX5. Thanks, great review.
10000% buying this when it comes out next week
Great vid..think i will try one of these out...First of your vids i have seen with carry of both clubs over 300. Impressive stuff.thanks..
Great review Mike, Srixon always make such good looking and great performing Clubs, I hope that they get some Love this year!
PS nice swinging today, very impressive!
These look awesome. Another great offering from Srixon. Gonna test these along with the ZX irons...... ⛳️😃⛳️
Awesome video. Looks like there's a head to head with the Callaway Big Bertha B21 coming soon.
Great review. Really enjoyed this comparison test..Never considered a Srixon Driver before this vid..What a surprize!! .Big thanks for this one..
Mike and Srixon in beast mode!
Can't wait to try them!!
Impressed with them numbers Mike.
I'm still rocking the Z585 and I adored that thing hits it great even without all the fitting, bought one off the rack and gaming with it right away.
Too bad that they abandoned the fixed hosel with ZX drivers I'm noticeably did much better with fixed hosel than adjustable ones.
I'll be sticking with it a bit longer since I'm penniless for any kind of golf clubs this year.
But man I could really use a new set of Irons...SRIXON will be on my watch list as soon as I can afford them.
Very impressive striking and numbers Michael 🏌️💪🏼
That higher MOI ZX5 was producing a WAY better spin profile during fades at 2200rpms, versus 3000+ for the ZX7 - almost like something is wrong with that ZX7. The trick of ordering the more stable head (ZX5), in the 10.5-degree loft, and then opening/de-lofting it, 1 or 2 clicks, is something I would encourage a lot of better players to look at doing because it seems that the more draw biassed higher MOI heads, opened/de-lofted, are perfect power fade clubs. Put that driver in your bag - it's the best combo I've ever seen you hit.
Great review and these look like great drivers, look forward to testing one soon
I have seen everyone testing the 5 and the 7 the seven is longer it carries further and rolls just as much basically same spin rate but both amazing
Playing the Z785 at the moment but must have a look at the ZX5 which looks good and the performance when tested is as good as any of the new drivers.
Just bought the zx7, when I fully load up I tend to slice a bit, have set it to correct that and am smashing them a long way dead straight, great club
You seem to have actually improved your swing of late. Last week you hit the Callaway Big Bertha B21a ton, and now the Srixon maybe a touch better. Dispersion so good with the Srixon 5. Thanks for the review.
Very impressive! Great swing too. Let’s see how they do against the “big names”? Looks like they might upset a few...
Glad Srixy have adopted the universal torque tool for adjustment..
Hi Mike, great vid. Interesting to see you adjust the zx5 head down a degree or so to make it look more square at address. I have a taylormade 10.5 deg M2 driver, and I have had to set it to 2 deg lower to try and get it square at address. It seems to be the trend to make all drivers with a slicer in mind. Can you recommend a 3 wood that can be adjusted to sit as square as the ZX5, have a slight fade, and give similar great results.. thanks Nick
Love the channel
Jeez that's impressive 👍
Very impressive numbers on the ZX5. Both were good but the 5 appears a bit better.
I personally use Srixon; its very underrated. Likewise, Mizuno seems underrated as well.
I had a Z565. Really good driver. Much better for me than the 765. These are tasty
I have the z785 and love it! Took the whole left side out! These look even better! Michael, what shaft was in these?
so cool!
Same as with the B21, you do good with more forgiving models. Dont we all? BTW, long time since you did a WITB?
always amazes me when people mention the sound a club makes.......wouldn't bother me if it made the sound of two saucepans banged together as long as it gets the ball out there
Hi Michael, It would be nice to compare the ZX 5 & ZX7 to the king cobra F9 SpeedBack 2019. I have just bought an F9 and it is another step up from the Taylormade M4 that I was using. I'm averaging 230 metres with the F9 and that is about 15-20 meters longer than the M4 and it is the most forgiving driver I've used, basically pick it up and hit it and it performs in a very consistent manor. The M4 with all the hype around the 'Twist Face' is not very forgiving at all and although I get reasonable distance I often miss fairway to the right, I have made adjustments to the M4 and it is still a difficult driver to master? Your ZX review has me interested as it appears to be very forgiving with toe and heel strikes but I was most impressed with the carry and total distance of 325+ yards. Great review, keep it coming !!
Have you Reviewed the New Wilson Driver? And they look sick still really want a speed zone or Sim
have the 565....wouldnt ever change it
Fantastic numbers them Mike where you based and do you do fittings for these drivers? What do you charge if so
Impressive numbers, but a little on the loud crack noise side, but outside maybe no big deal with those good stats.
I swing a 8.5 XS and still hit it high. I’m worried my spin is going to be nuts with this. But I want it so bad
Nice
Omg Mike your a beast ,,, effortless swing and boy do you get it out there ,, so nice ,, great job going over to there web page and check the 5 out , iam after more forgiving definitely !! Thanks again always great job!!
That looks extremely like the Wilson d7 from address!
Nice video you made, what longest driver you ever hit mike?could you recomend?
Matsuyama likes the 5 better than the 7 too. I find the 5 is miles better in every way; it just seems to have a more active face. Your swing always looks good; effortless power. Your height and build doesn’t hurt. lol
Thanks
Is this available in the US? Can't find it on Srixon US website.
Isn’t 6.0 a little soft for your swing? I mean it didn’t look like it but 6.5 may be better dispersion ? I think this driver looks great
Looks like the Zx5 should go in the bag
They are great looking drivers. Noticed everyone that has tested is going with the 5. Same distance and better accuracy. Even with high club head speed.
Watch Michael Newton on UA-cam he's English He test the 5 and the 7 the 7 is longer than 5 I was surprised but I am going to get a 7 but Srixon is as good if not better than most drivers out there
I’m impressed! Not at all what I was expecting. Maybe we’ll see more of their tour guys actually use them now!
Those Srixon drivers are hot!
Is there any difference between Z 785 driver vs Z 7 driver?
zx5 dispersion is incredible.
Srixon are nice
Is this the penrith hub! Cumbria?
Mike Lytham from Newton Golf
😳. I like how you lowered the loft 1 degree which opened the face. This is what I would need. My miss is left especially if get too fast on the downswing. Having a closed face at address is a no bueno for me
Mike, I watch most of your reviews. This seems to be one of the highest ball speeds over all the drivers you have demoed in last 4-5 months.
Would you compare these to the new ones?
Seems to be a better fit then some others I have seen you hit. Why aren’t you gaming it?
I’m in a process of just looking at what drivers are out there. Srixon is the one that has less availability to demo. So trying to get as much info as I can at the moment.
Thanks in advance for your reply
To be fair my swing speed was 2/4 mph faster when I filmed the Srixon video, end of the summer and probably had less layers on compared to recent videos! Ball speed was at 166, generally around 160/162 purely because of clubbed speed. Hoping to get hold of the Srixon drivers again to compare against other brands in a more direct comparison. Very good driver though
Ive gone full srixon , i ditched titeleist irons for zx7 4 to gap , 3 iron is zx5. I ditched vokey wedges for cleveland rtx zip core. I just traded my piece of garbage taylormade sim max driver 3wood and a 3 iron an 4 iron from my old set for zx7 driver zx3wood an zx5wood , 1st round out of the wrapper i hit 13 fairways , the previous 3 rounds with the taylormade i hit 4 fairways in total ...only thing im keepin is my ping answer putter
I said bye bye to 300 yards years ago. 😬
Mark L I was never even introduced to 300 😂
The ZX5 appears to be the longest and straightest driver on the market!
Is it even more savage than the z585?
I was amazed on those numbers so went back to check the previous reviews: that s about 20 yds longer than the SIM, and 30 yds longer than M6 or G410 you did last year. Can you please explain that, as those differences are simply not possible (or hardly believable at least)?
Club head speed slightly up, been hitting the gym for past 12 months and seen a Difference plus launch and spin more optimal than it used to be.
Michael, will you review the 3-wood and hybrid?
My camera has broke so hopefully next week
Yeah keen to see this
Both are very impressive. I would tend to lean towards the ZX5. ZX7 looks better, but the forgiveness of the ZX5 would be appreciated by this not so good golfer ;-)
this is the second video I have watched of the Srixon drivers. I have one question..why do they pronounce the Z as zed,,, Not being mean but is that how they pronounce a Z across the pond?
I’ve never seen you hit a ball so long in any of your reviews. Is that driver really giving you that much distance or did you amp up your golf swing?
im am moving the club a touch quicker these days
Did they really need to put Rebound Frame on there? Or at least not so bulky, or is it just me 🤔 anyway love the z585 irons
Just bought z585 irons last week. So far, it suits me better than my previous Tilt AP1 716.. love the VT sole tech 👍
im looking at buying 765 driver 😢
1st!
Wow. Great results. So odd that zx7 has higher spin.
Its likely there was more actual loft on the zx7 than the zx5, also if he faded it a little more that would also explain it. One problem with these tests is that manufacturing tolerances can definitely alter things. With loft it's +/- 1 degree. So it's likely he got a slightly lower lofted zx5 than the zx7. Most reviewers don't have a spec guage to accurately measure the real loft on the head so no way to know what the spec really is.
He probably hit it all over the face on the 7
What are the odds on Mr Newton winning the UA-cam golf comp again?
Maybe Hideki will finally use a srixon driver
Any ETA on US market?
don't know this sorry.....
Mike about as good as you've hit any driver duo...ever? What shaft in it?
Hzrdus Smoke
@@MichaelNewtonGolf great shaft, thanks. Is that stock in those I assume?
Wait....same ball speeds, 600rpm difference but no carry distance difference?? Doesn't make sense
Hi Mike, did I miss the price?
Didn’t mention price actually but pretty sure they will be £399 mark
@@MichaelNewtonGolf thank you
Should be using Xstiff
Third
2nd
What is the price on these clubs?
£399
Which model is more neutral or draw biased Mike as I don't like a fade biased driver at all
Shocking distances! Looks like ball speed would jump into the 170’s. With a touch more speed.
115 swing speed with a 5 or 7 will get you around a hundred and seventy ball speed this is coming from somebody who swung a hundred 35 miles an hour at age 47 swear to God did long drive for 17 years
@@ricktwist1935 cool, I am 51 and swing 118 not as limber as I used to be. I used to play in state amateurs and back then was at 126. I am so impressed with you long drive guys. I played with the Moose and I just could not believe the distances. It is fun to watch! You guys are amazing. I impress my buddies but they have no idea what long is.
T b e c k that is so cool the only thing you need to work on assured ground effects buy yourself a momentous power hitter and the orange ball that is so flexible you don't need weight lifting strength to generate speed you have to have the right muscles strong and flexible and work on lagging the club one more thing don't forget twitch muscles does it use speed muscles just tickets shaft with no head and swing it 50 * it will produce faster twitch muscles if you got to 118 you can get faster and you still young enough good luck
So the ZX7 clearly the longer driver, loads of heel strikes and more spin but same carry distance as the ZX5 . Imagine the nummbers with centre srtikes and less spin with the ZX7.
I heard 140 club head speed at first 👀 then heard 307 carry
What is the price?
£399 I think
Love your content but these numbers lately seem to be off...
9 months or so and earlier when you were using the GC quad your driving averages were a good 20 yard shorter with the same swing speed
Adam been controlling my spin much better recently through improved strike on the face
Michael Newton Golf It is more than that. I believe the second shot with the ZX7 you show in the video has a carry distance of 299 with 3280 spin and ball speed of about 166. There is no way you can get 299 carry with 166 ball speed, and certainly no way to do so with that speed and 3280 spin. Trackman’s own optimization chart shows that you need 170 ball speed to get 295 carry. Check your settings and see if your elevation is correct; your numbers indicate it may be set at a pretty high elevation.
@@FirstHusbandofQuilting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have the zx5 beautiful
Sorta
Where's your logo?
We have two studios
Those numbers are weird 🤔
Lol not to be a conspiracy theorist but how convenient would it be if the company made a small batch of illegal faces just for the purpose of sending to the reviewers. It would be genius....
Yooper Eric I wouldn’t doubt it. Who’s gonna know?
Bran areoom I play the 785 myself 😁😁😁
But if you make it too thin and have someone hit it with decent clubhead speed it's likely the face will crack which would be a massive risk to take to have one break for a UA-camr and all their viewers hear about it
Mishit it almost 340 you just low key bragging it at that point.
Saying "little bit" just a little bit much... just a little bit.
🙈
