SRIXON GOLF DRIVERS ZX5 AND ZX7

- Srixon golf drivers ZX5 and ZX7 tested and reviewed by Mark Crossfield. Mark hits the new Srixon drivers and talks about what the ZX5 and ZX7 drivers might offer your golf game. The ZX5 driver has the larger look at address with MOI qualities and changeable neck settings where the ZX7 driver offers the similar tech but with that tour preferred look. The ZX5 and ZX7 driver will appeal to golfers who want help while at the same time good feel off the face and distance that keeps up with the big names in the driver world from Callaway to Taylormade drivers. Srixon driver have often been not the 1st ones on the test list for golfers but the new Srixon golf drivers ZX5 and Zx7 might just make it onto more golfers test lists.
Let me know in the comments below if you have ever played or tested any Srixon Drivers?

I'll admit that when pictures leaked a while back I wasn't really blown away but seeing these a little more up close (at least on the video) has changed my perspective. I just love Srixon's model. They keep things really simple. You get a really solid performing driver overall while one offers a bit more "fine tuning" where the other is geared toward the average golfer who doesn't need much of that. No massive changes or stupid marketing. Just pure quality from this brand, once again.
Hit both yesterday. Super impressed! Super low spin, great feel and sound. Been a staffer for a while and never have been this excited.
Got the ZX7, think its one hell of a driver, very impressed with how its going with it, only had a few hits on the range but compared to my old driver the numbers look so much better and the flight has straightened out so much.
Got the ZX7 last week and I was extremely impressed! Very consistent for direction and distance for me - better than my G410!
I game with an Attas 11 stiff shaft (JDM)
I always go back to some of these older videos to help me choose if I should pick up one of these 2nd handed.
Carl's Golfland have them on sale for $200. Just picked up the zx5
I play the Srixon Z785 Driver love it!!
Me too it’s great
Yep, same, it's spectacular.
I used Srixon's demo program (excellent by the way) this spring to test the 585 and 785 head to head. Ultimately went with the 785 due to the adjustability and getting it dialed in. Off the rack, the 585 was better for me, more accurate and forgiving. It's good to see srixon adding hosel adjustments to the more "forgiving" 5 model. I think if I were to test these particular models, I would go with the 5.
*I do love my 785 and will be keeping it in the bag for the foreseeable future.
These two look amazing, I’d give Srixon a try. Plus, I like having different gear from my friends
In depth review just ordered me a ZX5 9.5 Ventus Red 5 X Flex! They look amazing this year!
Thanks Mark. Like the look of these! I just picked up a Z585, so I think I’m good for a couple years. ⛳️🏌🏽♂️
I have the Srixon ZF585 fairway and love it. Would never had chosen this off the shelf as I didn’t associate Srixon with woods. So glad I was open minded and would absolutely try their drivers. I’m becoming a huge Srixon/Cleveland fan. Amazing clubs.
They look really good clubs. It all comes back to how you feel with any club. The more you like them usually the better they go.
Great video Mark xx
. Did Last year a Demo day from Srixon . The brand is underrated.... Changed to Z 785 driver from titleist 915 D2 . Love it .
Omg that sound from the first hit, lush! 🤑
I currently own three Srixon drivers, Z355, Z745, and Z765. I game a Ping G410 Plus but occasionally swap out for the Z355 or Z765 when I play tighter courses. Both of those drivers play 44 and 44.5 inches long and are fairway finders and sometimes boomers.
Gonna have to be damn good to beat their current driver! Never produced the numbers that I get out of the current Srixon with any other stick! Only one that was close was the Ping G410LST but the Srixon was still better performing and in looks and sound.
Just played in TX and the ZX5 was in the rental set. I loved the look, sound, and feel but thought it was really light. It was also just arrow balls all day, with some draws and I’m a fader. Very interesting because the lightness I equated to cheaper or more “game improvement”. Glad to see you got on with it well too. Definitely gonna give it a closer look when looking for a driver.
Two great looking and sounding drivers but I can hear it already without looking at the comments “but Crossfield you get payed by these guys”.Keep the unbiased reviews coming 👍🏽
HAha. I love those comments. Here is another club with the same and similar numbers to every club but hey let’s not hear that. Haha it’s shows that maybe some golfers are just really really brand dumb. Cheers bruh I love testing thanks for the comment.
Can’t beat a Crossy club review... the originator... the goat...
I have the current Srixon Driver and it's been amazing, I will definitely be trying both of these when my Pro gets the demos in
Should I get the 585 or 785?
@@LemThurdy420 I now have the ZX5 which is amazing
Ended up getting a brand new zx 3w. Absolutely love it. Upgraded from my TM R7 3w that I couldn't hit. Now should have the zx5 driver tomorrow to replace my TM R9 Supertri. I'm pretty sure the 3w zx goes further than the R9 driver...hoping for a few more yards and balls in play with the zx5.
Fantastic point about learning from the stats but also being careful about how you read them. It's easy to get lost in the rabbit hole of analytics.
Love my Zx5 great launch and great flight
Excellent comparison. As far as bang for your buck goes, these are right up there. Off the rack AU pricing in golf stores has these at least $100 less than the ‘big 4’ brands. On that alone they’re worth hitting. I will definitely give these a try, and that money saved can go towards the perfect aftermarket shaft.
Went to a Srixon fitting day and after changing to a higher lofted club with a flatter lie angle and the Smoke Xflex managed and average of 20 metres further than my current 913D! Will most likely put this into the bag as I've not seen results like this with the likes of SIM or TSi3, and the price is right!
Just got a full bag of srixon and went for the zx5 driver
Cool. I like Srixon drivers. I have the old 565 and 765 drivers. I like the sound better from the 765 than 565 which has a higher pitch. I bought both clubs on sales at some point and I can easily switch shaft if needed (the 565 had a nice Miyazaki shaft and the 765 had an Oban Devotion 7 which is way to stiff but lovely to work with when body is in shape). I have a sour shoulder right now and use the 565 shaft for the 765 head. Works brilliant!
What strikes me with the Srixon drivers is the dispersion - most of the times very positive. "More issues" with length dispersion rather than width dispersion and that is fine. often very straight.
I have noticed that it often is shorter than other drivers and every now and then it flies off like a jet and lands way longer than other drivers (hence the length dispersion rather than width dispersion).
I like the Miyazaki shafts.
Nice to see you actually reviewing something from Srixon!!
No no no remember I force Srixon onto everyone. Haha thanks bruh it was a fun morning testing.
@@MarkCrossfield 😄👍
Always a joy, superb as usual !! :)
Very empresses with both of these Srixon drivers. I think I’m leaning more towards the 5 .
Haven't tested the drivers or any drivers lately because I still murder it with my TS3. They look nice though and I like the added adjustability from previous models. Srixon like Mizuno make obedient woods but really shine with their irons and I won't be giving up the 785's anytime soon. Been an absolute game changer for me. Look forward to the testing of the new Srix irons even though I'll likely skip this generation.
They look and sound good. Just hard to demo here in Pennsylvania where im at. Not many have in stock..
Ive just ordered my first srixon driver (565) after cobra cracked based on your reviews. Thanks for the vid.
Love my 565 driver and 585 irons. Wont change anytime soon.
@@dennisd4027 Will be receiving it in about two days. Hope Im not disapointed. Thanks for making me more exited.
A bit of the old magic Mark, it has been a while. Keep it up, I know you have it in you 👍👍
Always love hitting the Srixon when I see them in the shop... Would love the compare with the Xxio!!!
Srixon and XXIO are the same brand, just for old
@@Leftylobber what I'm really talking about is the super lightness of Mark's driver v. the standard Srixon.
Or... is there savings in configuring the Srixon for super lightness...
@@Leftylobber Xxio but not Srixon moron
Interesting comparison Mark. Zx7 suppose to be the lower spin one. But you seem to hit zx5 with lower spin.
I also went to demo these two clubs and found zx7 to be lower spinning with a lower trajectory so end up with the zx7.
Srixon Drivers and fairway woods are grossly underrated. They will be a contender at the upper echelon soon just like Mizuno.
Great ball striking day for you, Mark.
The 5 looks a little bit like the top profile look of my old TM 2.0 driver. A great driver, a penetrating ball flight but mega loud (TM that is). Really like the black carbon look of these drivers.
Very nice drivers and sound great Mark. Srixon are bringing out some really nice gear.
It’s a good club defo
Awesome video.
I love the brake down of both clubs. Great work
Yes! The same key
Looks very nice , I’ve never had a Srizon driver always had the Callaway
What I think is that someone from TM that designed the crown of the M5 has moved to Srixon. With that carbon and red lipstick, it just needs to be matt and it's a knock off. Seriously though, Srixon are very under rated in the driver department and worth a spot on the test list. My opinion.
Hi Mark, good test as ever... i'd love you to delve into setting up the clubs optimally for you, looking at lofts, weight changes etc... i know you are good enough to manipulate and work the club, but i think the results would be even more interesting if you custom fit yourself... loving the new dialed in speedy crossfield. its been a while since i checked in, and the speed seems settled in now :)
Had a z765. Nice solid performer.
Hi Mark. Best coach ever. Thank you. Can u test Srixon 565 driver? I’ve looked back and I don’t think you ever tested it? I love mine but am curious if I would gain anything by updating to the new version. Thanks for everything. Cheers
Loving the ZX5 would like to see it comparison with Taylormade SIM2 Max
Testing the ZX5 irons soon?
Solid Srixon review Mark.
Your distance has increased a lot. Good to see!
And still the best golf channel on UA-cam in my opinion be nice to see come course blogs again soon
Just ordered a set of ZX5 irons (4-PW) and the ZX5 driver, and I now feel my choice is vindicated.
Playing off 9,I thought why not get the extra forgiveness of the 5 whilst not sacrificing distance or control. Much to the club pros' chagrin.
I'd really like to read comments at some stage from people who bought the 7's and see what they got extra out of them.
To me the biggest difference between the two was if you think you hit like a pro or actually do hit like a pro.
Awesome...can’t wait to see your review of the irons!
Would you go with the ZX5 or the Cleveland Turbo. Not a big slicer but it does go to the right.
Interesting. The Australian tour rep told me the '5' is very popular with their 'bombers'. These are as good as anything. Like all things golf equipmemt, just need a win on tour to be very successful at retail...
Hi Mark, as always an excellent and very comprehensive evaluation of clubs. You are definitely, my go to reviewer of anything golf. I noticed today these Drivers are at a very attractive price. I am going to upgrade from my Taylormade M1 as it is time. My entire golf life my Driver has never been a strength. I just purchased a Srixon 5 Wood which I love the feel of and have had some amazing results. It is very forgiving providing good results even off toey or heely strikes. Hence my interest in the Srixon ZX5 and ZX7 Drivers.
What was the loft of these? Did both have HZRDUS Smoke shafts which I love in the 5 Wood. The feel is so sweet! I am now 71 lost some club head speed can use some distance support. I also have a tendency to hit my Driver high push right to a strong fade to a sizable slice. Would you recommend the ZX7 to adjust that out. The 5 Wood doesn't have the movable weighting and I agree with you I don't feel the adjustable weighting adds much correction for me over correct swing plane or club face path.
How's the family doing? I miss seeing you with the girls and the old videos in the house. Blessings to all!
Mark, what do you film these videos on ? The picture quality is way above any other channel. Clarity is amazing
Yea but you left out the most important part
What are the shaft options
85% of the club is the shaft. Not a mention????
Riptide Evenflow and Hzrdus Smoke Black I believe
Both drivers excellent re performance and dispersion. Great review Mark and great to see you carrying the Srixon brand. I feel they are going to be a huge player in the market. The Xxio range and the Srixon range are just awesome. Something there for everyone. Just as a matter of interest Mark was it the same shaft in both drivers.?
Never even hit a Srixon driver before but that 7 looks lovely. What’s the retail on these? You reckon either could knock your mega expensive driver out the bag?
They look and sound brilliant. Face looks a bit like a brand Coach likes😉. When's the ZX irons review coming? Been so close to to buying 785s but held out. Also there is some great deals on the RTX4s. Shall I?
Great vid , they don’t get enough marketing really , even their irons are good .
Some very nice looking clubs!
Hideki matsuyama is using the zx5 with tons of success this week!
Been waiting for the new woods and irons, please test the ZX5 soon
On it bruh 👍
I would try it. But most of the people choose brand over performance.
Beautiful drivers and man, they sound really good.
Really like the look of those! Numbers are very similar so I’d go by feel as you said, which is the 5. Will you be putting one in the bag or stick with the XXIO?
Both look great!
Review of this channel becoming better and better. On the course shots combining with numbers inside is very interesting. Mark also seems to be less cynical these days. Open. Open to what....?
Mark, what are you gaming now? Also, can you give a quick comparison of the strokes on versus the Taylormade Sim driver. Thanks in advance.
Looks like you got rid of your new "bunny hop" move.
... and what happened to 262 ?
"Universal Key" is THE MOST IMPORTANT innovation in the new models HAHAHA
Never thought about them, driver wise until watching this. Fitting for proper head, shaft, etc., is always paramount, but any idea how either of these would benefit a slow swing speed of around 85mph. Example, the Titelist T1 seems to be the club for slow swing speeds, over the T2 & T3..
Mark had similar results with Newton....The 7 looked better with a neutral to slight open face , but the results were better with the 5....btw I've never seen Mark hit it in the 290s with any driver but this one...
Lovely looking ....the irons look nice too 👍👍
Love the review Mark 👏👍
Any ideas on the pricing?
Coupla good looking drivers 😎🇦🇺🇬🇧
The 5 seems to have that magic Crossfield slightly high on the face, slightly toe side, 2000rpm spin location for your 272 carries. They both seemed easy to hit - and with good sound, they should be more popular. I tried the last models and didn't like them - to upright and hooky I found and the sound wasn't the best.
BUZZING FOR THE MARK2
Just awaiting delivery of my new 785. #Behindthetimes.....
Chatting to Nick at Tour X and he was raving about the Srixon Drivers etc! 👍 now then Mark, where do you get your ASICS golf shoes from? Like them 👍
I have a pair of those ASICS, I bought them about 2 to 3 years ago.
Interesting vid, many thanks
Always enjoy your reviews. I think you meant 270+ though not 170+!
Haha yes
Good review Mark thanks. Is the 5 likely to go in your bag subject to further testing or are you sticking with the XX10 driver?
Great video as always. Interested to know your thoughts on why so many srixon tour players use their irons and not the woods?
I am guessing this is still the case and if not I do apologise.
Your xxio really impressed me. Any thoughts on you changing?
Love the carbon top but the bottom looks a bit cheap IMO.
no ways!!! this is crazy i just reviewed the older model
Wow awesome THANKS ~~
I have the 785 driver down in Florida. Love the look but I simply found it spins a bit too much. Of courses. I have a -3.0-4.0 angle of attack, which doesn’t help, but that head does spin a bunch.
Nice looking club
Mark, when are you going to play some smoking licks on your guitars. Love to see it.
Shot tracer on a video like this would be helpful. I enjoyed it, but, you narrating the shots could be made easier to follow with tracer.
Hi mark I am a 12 handicap losing a little distance I am 64. I been looking at the Cleveland hybrid irons to game. I see you game them what do you think? Don F from USA
So with the 5, you were presenting 2 degrees more loft at impact, but launching almost 2 degrees lower than the 7. Very interesting, do you think thats purely down to strike like you mentioned, or is CG placement in the clubhead affecting that? Little bit of both maybe?
Would need to hit more to really see. I will test more.
Hey Mark, what is that brown driver head cover in the bag and where did you get it?
Looks class. Will it be bagged ?
Hope i can get my hand on one of these beauties !
The 585 was a sleeper last year. I really enjoyed hitting the 785 but having to start at 9.5 and only 1* down in the fitting I just struggled with launching it too high for (19*) and spinning it high as well (3100)
Funny you should say that, I've got a 785 set at 8.5 and it's launching and spinning far too high
@@shanesoni4175 even at 8.5 on the sleeve I can see too much face. I loved the feel but even with a tipped atmos black it was just spinning like crazy. It was flying 20yards short of my Rogue SZ at 7.3, and the callaway actually rolled a bit when it landed. It was the difference between backing it up at 260 and flying it 285 and watching it release.
@@ScottDreyfus I sold my TS3 (fitted) because I saw a brand new 785 with upgraded Tensei tour X shaft.... It's substantially shorter! I'm genuinely gutted tbh, shows the importance of fitting
@@shanesoni4175 it's so hard to rebuy the right setup again! Ego is a bitch. I still have an 8.1* actual m4 that I got from the van when I was on staff with TMAG. It still may be the best driver in my current quest.
@@ScottDreyfus can't believe I did it mate, I'll be getting fitted for the next one, I just took it for granted and now my 3 wood goes longer than my driver 🤣 it just balloons, glad I'm not the only one who's had this problem
Are they going to introduce a ZX4, need to know if I should wait for fitting ?
