    In Australia the srixon driver is $570 compared to the sim2 at $899 makes the srixon look a lot better choice.

      Yup and buy a Ventus for the srixon and come in around a similar price point and Srixon will slaughter the taylormade ... hell it’s better anyways without the ventus, Taylormade made no improvement over Sim they actually downgraded IMO

    my dad and I just spent two hours testing the Srixon ZX5 and the TM Sim 2, and we both agreed the winner was Srixon ZX5. Just spend a half hour with each and you'll know why. ZX5 just feels crisper upon contact, and can definitely vouch for the grouping and consistency with ball lie with the ZX5.

    Great comparison review. If I had to choose between the two based on your thoughts and numbers I'm going with the Srixon ZX5. I'm more of a traditionalist and the Taylormade has a little bit to much going on with the blue and white and carbon. I love the way the Srixon looks behind the ball and even with the shorter shaft it was still longer than the sim. But If i go with a new driver this year it's probably going to be the Srixon ZX7 driver. I think it's one of the best if not the best driver that has come out this year.

    Personally I prefer the look and sound of the Srixon (although I don’t play either one). Surprised it’s not cheaper like the corresponding Cleveland products (their sister company). I’ve never understood why even Srixon’s tour pro’s play their irons but never their drivers & fairway woods (I usually attend a couple of tour events here in the states and always like to notice what brands are hiding underneath those headcovers). Great review as always, but please remember to mention what shafts are in the clubs being tested.

    I'm confused. Every YT reviewer reviews fairly low lofted Sim2 drivers. Finchy hated the Sim2 but he had it set to 7 degrees i believe. Big Al did the same. I see Michael that you left it set to standard loft. Yet DJ, Tiger, Rory all gaming the Sim2 with higher lofts and lower flight/spin shafts. I've gone that way too. So why if a driver is designed to be used that way, why do most reviewers insist on testing the package with virtually no loft?

    • @joseenriques5791
      @joseenriques5791 2 роки тому

      SPIN makes the difference in each player. Lower the loft = take off spin. Higher the loft, more spin, so at the end, depends on each golf swing.

    I pulled the trigger on the Srixon zx7 irons (straight money this year from Srixon in the irons) but I feel if Srixon could have dropped their price a bit, I think they could have pulled in a lot more new driver buyers -- if both basically the same price (+/- 50), I'd see which one matches my shot shape the most and go with that -- most likely the SIM -- but I'd love to see the zx7 against the SIM instead.

BUT, mentally I wouldn't be able to pay the same for their driver as I would for say Callaway. and that's not a marketing thing it's reputation and a history of results. I'm sure the KIA K900 is a great car but if they priced it the same as a S550 there's just no way I buy the KIA.
