Wilson is what I’m going with for my new set. I’m hitting absolute bombs with my Wilson Profile box set driver (250+ off the tee). Dare to e different, and beat your competitors with a brand that the majority don’t play. It’s crazy because more championships have been won with Wilson than any other brand. If Wilson takes a few years to bring out a new model, I’ll trust that over Titleist or Callaway pumping out a new model every year like clockwork for profit, any day. Quality over quantity!
Sri on has some great value clubs as well I believe
Love the competition, so much better than simply hitting balls in a studio, real life categorisation and you don’t sit on the fence .

I'm a Wilson fan. But, as far as looks, I'm not really into this years DynaPower. The red and gray just fall short. I much prefer the looks and colors of the regular D9 lineup. Just my opinion though.
I was the same initially, and still think D9 looks good (I played the D7 driver and I thought that was a beautiful looking driver). But the DP’s have grown on me and I think they look pretty good now. Especially the Carbon model
Paint color should be a non-factor compared to on course performance. The Carbon has a classic pear shape and at -0.5* has an open face, perfect for hitting a power fade or long straight ball.
Great review Gabe, you really tested them out and can’t argue with your analysis on the shape/depth of face vs strike patterns. The one thing that did surprise me is in the looks/sound/feel department. You preferred the look of the Srixon but the feel of the Wilson. You then said they sounded pretty much the same - and that’s the only thing I can’t agree with you on. The Wilson is one of THE best sounding drivers of 2023 and the Srixon is quite tinny. Don’t you think?
So you would choose the Wilson based on the fact that you did not hit it off the toe during your testing? And you would choose the Srixon because you missed it on the toe like you are used to doing? Does that make any sense at all? Honestly, I am scratching my head on this one.

Flipping a coin on these two. I like how you identified the type of striker and which might be better. I tend to hit higher off the face so the Dynapower probably would have been better.
That’s honestly the only thing I can see between them. Everything else seems equal to me.
I think what you continue to prove is that all of these contested drivers will provide similar results to us Mere Mortals. So, it’s going to come down to feel and personal preference. Maybe durability as well - which one holds-up the best over a season or two. Still waiting for one to absolutely stand head & shoulders above the rest. Will it happen? I don’t think so! Can’t wait for round #2!!!

@@251Trioxin if the numbers are better and I'm talking 5-10+ yards, then yes. Doubt I'll change if it's just 2 yards on average.
Easier on the wallet than a Paradym as well.

How do they compare to the Callaway Edge driver????
15-20 yards longer and much more consistent. Callaway Edge is a good beginner driver, but as your game improves these top of the line models will make for significant improvements

Good video and as far as the looks go I like the locks of the bottom of the Srixon a bit better but I like the look of the top of the Wilson better. I agree regarding position of face contact on the different drivers making various results. But I sincerely felt when the Wilson hit the longest on the last hole and since the competition was a dead heat in many ways that at least the Wilson deserve to win. But regardless it was a great competition look forward to the next one.
Funny, I’m the opposite. Like the bottom of the Wilson and top of the Srixon better. But that’s what makes the world go round 😁

I don't know how these drivers are the same price. The Wilson should be so much cheaper considering it has significantly worse brand equity. I hate to beat a broken drum, but the new gen-6 from pxg is $499 and is the most customizable driver on the market.
I think some brands made some pricing mistakes this year. At $399 they could’ve really cornered the market. But at $499 vs $549, I think most people just go with the household names. Agree PXG is a great option. Especially with a military / first responder discount.

Unfortunately, I can’t work the PXG into the bracket but I will definitely put this year‘s winner up against it when I get my hands on it
I play the previous gen Srixon ZX7 with Tensei Blue S shaft. It is a beast. If I were looking, I’d consider the Wilson. No reason to change.

Post video watch comment …. Good pick in my opinion. Wilson really came along way this year. Especially with Regina Power Irons, but if they missed the mark with the drivers I think, and mostly in the looks department is why because at the end of the day if you stack up all the drivers and all the balls, there is probably at the most a 5 yard difference in any of them and it all comes down to forgiveness and the way the ball is hit. That being said, I really enjoy your comparison videos. You’ve done an excellent job with it.
Hey Gabe. Thanks for the videos and March Madness for Golf Drivers. Like it. I do have a question about your stance. I just watched a video for "seniors" to get a little more speed in their swing, "James Robinson" and he stated in his video to put the right foot back and the left foot back if your left handed. Do everything the same but just put the right foot back. So my question is that I see you put your right foot back and I did go back and watch some of your other videos and I see the same that your put your right foot back. Now, Im not saying your a senior :) I'm just curious if that is why you put your right foot back?
His stance is very "Hoganesque" in that Hogan advocated hitting each club with the ball one ball inside the left foot and adjusting one's stance based on the club being used.

Don't you think that changing the ball you use for these comparisons might feed into the end result? The Mizuno ball is much spinnier than some of the other balls you've used.
I suppose a particular ball could make a very slight difference, but if both clubs are using the same ball in a particular test, especially the balls I prefer for my game, I can’t really see that changing the results. I have decided to stick with the RB Tours the rest of the competition, however.
Mate….he is an average golfer, not a tour pro! Which average golfer plays the same ball? Get one out the bag, whichever you find in the rough and get it smashed😂
@@M82RKY This has nothing to do with handicap. If you're lookng to compare many clubs there should be consistency in order to compare fairly. Just the tools used.
The ball can make a massive difference, depending on your individual swing & club. Ball performance will vary by brand & model…in some cases substantially. Up until two years ago I played TP5/TP5x since they came out in 2012…consistently a full club longer across the bag than prov1 or chrome soft.

Always try to whenever possible. This year the stock shafts were all over the board, but I’m glad these two were the same. It amplified how close they are.
hey gabe I notice you marked 2 srixon balls with a grey marker and no mark on the 2 wilson balls but the balls had different numbers so why mark them
So many numbers to keep track of with launch data and yardage, that dots make it easier for my brain. Also, if any go in the water and get lost, I might not have a number I need to complete the test on the next hole.
The garmin g80 was 20 yards off on those drive numbers.

I tend to like it's looks from underneath, not so much on top, but of course that's subjective. Different strokes for different folks 😃

If Wilson could get their badging right I’d pick it over anything but personally I don’t think anything looks as good as the Srixon ZX MK11 or the new Tour Edge you tested. ( This is a previewing comment )
Agree Srixon looks good. But can’t stand the line on the crown of the Tour Edge at all. Horrible
@@cameronloveless1751 That’s my only hang up in the Tour Edge as well. It seems that Tour Edge always have that one little thing that puts it over the edge into the cheaper looking lineup.
@@CamMacMastermusic I’d go Wilson DP in 2023 for driver all day before Tour Edge. And I play both brands - love my Wilson forged irons, and C300 3 hybrid. But ask me my favourite club and I might just answer Tour Edge CBX 119 5 wood. Absolutely stunning fairway wood

I agree with this sentiment. I don’t believe it’s a conscious bias. But I have felt that is what I’ve seen. His tagline I am a mere mortal fits with this as mere mortals do have subconscious bias.
