The Pixel is giving the S24 a bigger run for it's money than I was expecting!
I was surprised too.
@@juliabanks1881 im not surprise, its Google software magic
It’s better
Pixel is also alot cheaper dont forget that
@@rebeexi_e3962
S24U 512Gb possible find less then 1.000Eur, GP8Pro 512Gb cost 1.200Eur minimum.
S24U is cheaper and more popular.
But what is best camera difficalt to say, both is close to each other.
Thank you for doing this video. It helps. I’m looking to upgrade soon from an iPhone 11 and have been trying to decide between these two phones.
The pixel is much better in lowlight photo!
la verdad no fue tan claro, en unas si y en otras no
Yeah&.especially its selfie..far better than s24u
Both have excellent camera systems, but for photos I would give the Pixel the crown. For videos however, the S24U is a clear winner. The Pixel has too much low light noise and it's zoomed video can be unpleasantly jittery on occasions. It has a little too much contrast in some scenarios also, giving it's video an almost cartoon like appearance.
Swimming against the tide of opinion here, I think the Samsung is sharper and has more detail at night. The Pixel is brighter but is a little overblown. The Pixel HDR is better, yes, but the Samsung has the more pleasing photos. The only thing I would say the Pixel is mostly better at is your skin tone in the daytime.
I generally agree but think it varies for different use cases/cameras. The 5x was MUCH better on Samsung, especially for video. Darker results but with a lot more detail. The main sensor was pretty similar for both phones in terms of detail, in my opinion. The Samsung does have a slightly better dynamic range, and the bright lights were a bit less overblown, but the difference is small. The Pixel produced what I would assume is a more accurate colour representation (it's difficult to tell without an accurate reference, but the Samsung pictures looked a bit too yellow/green). The selfie camera was better on the Pixel at night, kind of overprocessed but still capturing more detail, while the Samsung was softer, a bit nicer-looking for faces but with less detail on clothes/hair.
Regarding skin tone at daytime, yes the Pixel is more accurate if we consider only the colour balance, but the Samsung has a better dynamic range and also manages brighter and darker areas on the face much better. The Pixel looks very overprocessed, with a sharpening effect that is not very pleasing.
I think the Samsung is working with better sensors and it shows, but it loses quite a few points against the Pixel and the iPhone due to colour and light balance processing. They could fix this in an update, but this is a yearly issue and they have barely ever attempted to address it.
@@FirstSynapseYou make some excellent points here, and your comment was written very very well. Respect.👍
Me too
@@FirstSynapse Thank you for sharing your detailed analysis. I need to go back and rewatch this video again. It’s so hard to choose. Some shots I prefer Pixel, some Samsung. Sometimes I call it a draw.
Update: After rewatching, I prefer Pixel most of the time. It felt like the Samsung pics had a haze over many of them.
For the price you can buy a Pixel 8 Pro there is no competition here. I couldn't find even one situation where Samsung makes better photos. Pixel color science and computational photography are unmatched. (I know it is subjective nevertheless)
well it's not just cameras. it's the 2600 peak brightness and anti reflective coating make it easier to shoot it harsh lighting. the spen, dex for productivity. snapdragon vs tensor? need I say more? no portrait video on the pixel on the front cam s24 ultra shoots at 4k30 front cam, back cam limited to 1080p portrait video on the pixel while 4k30 on the s24 ultra. s24 ultra can shoot 8k30 on the 5x lens and on the main cam. s24 ultra can shoot 4k120 fps. pixel is a basic phone. I hate the over processed look. if you wanna judge a phone based on true power, just look at the videos coz pixel over process their shots which people tend to like but leaves no room for editing to your specific liking.
Okay the Pixel 8 Pro completely beats the S24 here. It's evident Samsung has an entirely different approach with their colour science, and some shots seem unnecessarily soft even though they shouldn't be. Google's processing is still unrivaled!
Pixel 8 pro best 👌
Procesador rendimiento x,
Video noctuno mucho ruido x, Calentamiento bateria x
Si pixel 9 pro adopta camara especiales dedicadas para la noche y deciden trabaja el exyno 2400 seria el telefono perfecto 👌.
Awesome video! Can't wait to get the Pixel 8 pro!
So happy samsung finally turned down the saturation and brightness for more natural looking photos. This is the first year I don't hate the samsung photos, especially in comparison with the pixel photos
Got to thank you. This is exactly the comparison I needed with these cameras. Of course there's more to consider with these two, but camera performance is my main concern, being that I am replacing my dslr with one of these. To my eye most of these examples favor the S24, however the Pixel definitely returns better results in some conditions. Thanks again for your excellent work.
If the batteries on pixels weren’t trash pixel would be the easy choice
Far from trash on my pixel 8 pro, lasts all day for me which is enough
8 pro battery is better but cant beat s24u still
yesterday 8h screen time Pixel 8 all day
I have both and the Pixel overheats quite a bit sometimes, especially while shooting videos outside in the hot weather and unfortunately that's a dealbreaker for me.
The Galaxy looks SUPER HAZY in low light in this comparison, let's hope Samsung improved this
Tbh i love the videography in Samsung especially the transition
A very informative video but I think the sound needs levelling/optimising. It's very hard to hear some of the live dialogue, which may indicate that both phones' microphones are not up to scratch but more likely that you just need a bit more editing.
Just got the pixel pro 8 and when shooting in 50mp there is a couple of seconds delay, does the S24 Ultra have this same delay when shooting maximum pixels mode?
S24 got a better (correct) exposure & contrast overall, personally the pictures feels more natural somehow.
Please do a comparison with the X7 Ultra. It can definitely compete with these
No one talking about tensor g3 chip , which is not good as compared to the 8 gen3 so , s24 ultra 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Surprisingly, the Pixel seems to take better video from its main camera. Any alternate state from the PIxel 8's video doesn't compare, but still ....NICE JOB GOOGLE!
Most snaps are a toss up. I prefer the Pixel shots, but I don't think that most of them are better. Just different.
can you pleeeeeeeeeeeeease do the comparison of Oneplus12 with Iphone 15 pm?
I had the pixel 8 pro yes the pictures are brighter but that can some times turn out bad when taking a pic when its already bright with alot of sun light!, or making a night pic look too bright !. I now have the s24 ultra and tbh unless you comparing side by side you'll be happy with either phone both have great cameras!! 👍
S23 n s24 ultra selfie is unmatched...it is still so good
I'd say pixel 8pro colour is definitely more natural, but for "serious" photography I shoot B&W mostly, and s24u seems a tad sharper in some situations. Having said that, the exposure range (faux HDR) is better on the pixel, shadow and extreme highlight details are better than on s24u. I have the 8pro an am side-grading to s24u next week mostly due to the pixels having some intermittent screen freeze issue with Nova Launcher, which I much prefer over any other launcher and will not stop using. Otherwise I would stick with the 8pro... both superb phones/cameras with their own unique extra bits... and at the price, 8pro is unbeatable.
Agreed, I have both the s24 Ultra and the PIxel 8 Pro, was an impulse buy for me and have gone back to the Pixel 8 pro , photos are more accurate from a colour and detail perspective and also gets better snaps of the kids, anything moving on the 24 Ultra and usually comes out blurry
Fake news. REAL S24U owners will attest that pictures taken from the S24U are not blurry at all. Look, it's not a crime to have a favorite or bias, but to lie to pull down a product is wrong.
S24 does a better job with correct exposure & contrast in overall as we can see from these pictures. Pixel is not bad in anyway, its impressive.
Transition moment is bit shaky on pixel
other than that pixel seems lil bit better
Samsung looks drab and rather dark images with a slight greenish tint
It seems that all they do nowadays is trying to mimic the iPhone
@@Jo5ue1iphone have yellow tint.
Hahahaha look at 7:28 and tell me which one has the green tint 😂
@@Gemini530 when it comes to video, I have no problem giving the win the S24U. But still pics, there is no comparison. Pixel color science and computational photography are unmatched. I guess if you do a lot of front camera video, choose the S24U but if you are like the rest of us who take more pics than record your face, then choose the P8P
@Jo5ue1 ... And I have no problem with anyone's personal preference. Truth is, all these flagship devices take very good photos. Sometimes, the pixel does a better job, and sometimes, the S24U does. I just don't appreciate the obvious bias from reviews like what I pointed out.
For pics on Android, you cannot beat the Pixels it seems.
I think only the Pixel 9 Pro can take the Android photo king crown from the Pixel 8 Pro, for we Western consumers at least. Some Chinese devices have far superior photographic abilities though.
Samsung always has this green tint in photos and videos... I also didn't see any aspect where Samsung looked better, asides arguably portraits. For me Pixel is better. More natural colors, better hdr and overall better results. It's not a matter of Samsung updating their system.. Pixel is just that good for photography.
I thought that the Pixel's photo processing was better, but both seem to do the same annoying things at different moments (like strong sharpening and overbrightening...). They also have both very good qualities, obviously. In video, the S24 Ultra is smoother, but not much smoother than the S23 Ultra (except for the lense swtiching).
The Pixel seems to do a better job at the Wide angle, but is not as good with video, specifically with noise handling in low light and video stabilization. The color processing seems to be better with the pixel until it gets into low light situations, the Samsung is definitely sharper except for at the wide angle and the 3x. The Samsung also seems to have better dynamic range, being able to lighten shadows without blowing out highlights. The author looked much older on the Pixel videos than he did with the Samsung. I am not sure, but I suspect the Samsung was more "true-to-life" when it was showing his reddening nose in the cold, the pixel on the other-hand looked desaturated. Honestly, they both trade blows with images but the big difference for me is how much better the Samsung did with video, especially with stabilization. When you consider the price differential between the two, if you are only buying the phone for its photo capabilities, the Pixel 8 pro is a no-brainer.
Pixel has a 48mp wide
Still prefer Pixel camera esp. in tone, white balance & colors but for performance & price I think P8p should be best compete with S24plus rather than the ultra.
I dont understand what happened this year with selfie in Pixel 8 pro. Too much contrasted. Even your eyes turned to brown sometimes
Except for the transition between lens, pixel swipes s24u
Pixel 8 Pro. Didn't compare Video Boost?
There is no point, as it is a feature the S24 Ultra doesn't have. Hence nothing to compare.
S24ultra an overhyped phone like iPhones. Samsung and iphones are getting to their saturation point.
Subjectively, Pixel 8 Pro is better in photos and video.
Samsung is better in hardware specs.
But experience on both phones is somewhat matched overall.
The pixle seems to have won this camera battle. I don't do a lot of phone gaming so I probably don't need Samsung's snapdragon chip. Might as well save some money and get better images.
Crazy to me how much better the pixel is WITH A WEAKER PROCESSOR!! Google continues to impress in computational photography and has even surpassed in the video department. The dynamic range and colors are better on the pixel as well. Awesome comp! Thank you
what weaker processor?
The S24 Ultra is the more powerful device for sure, but the Pixel is the smarter one.
Weak cpu but powerful isp and gpu even not in same level of s24u..samsung lazy on processing even better soc...even weaker iq compare to my sd888 s21u..
A mí me gusta más el pixel... especialmente en las fotos ya que yo no hago muchos videos
That transition between lens is still not fixed in Pixel
I know, is horrible 🙃
This needs to be improved in the Pixel 9 series.
Miss video boost(Pixel 8 Pro).
Both phones are doing well. I think Pixel is better, even with the price.
Pixel 8 pro.
The only Samsung wins is the lense transition
lol
The Pixel daytime selfies in this video are some of the worst selfie shots I've seen in years. They're horrendous
I dont known if he knows but s24 ultra screen is left on natural mode and not vivid mode. Samsung is trying to fix it. Hopefully with this uodate they can fix the greenish tint an horrible photos it taking. I think Samsung rushed it too fast and we all got bad phones
Horrible? You are such a pixel fanboy
s24 destroyes pixel in daylgiht
Destroys The Pixel in what I hope you're not indicating daylight photos because pixels are the industry leader when it comes down to photos in the daylight check your eyes bro😂😂
And the Video Boost....????? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I would go with the pixel 80% of the time
His face on the pixel seems pale compared to s24U more like natural color
Pixel
Wow pixel 8 pro good job
Pixel wins
Pixel well done. my next Phone?
Pixel 8 pro makes you younger. Less white hair…. (Under the bridge)
Funny when he said on 7:28 that the pixel had a slight advantage over the S24U when his skin looked green on the pixel 😂
Ya, except you could barely see his face on the S24U, far too blurry. Check his eyes.
@gaileendesharnais4328 Maybe your vision is blurry because I could see his face clearly like I could see clearly the green skin tone of the other one 😅
S24 was more blurry and a little too dark in the shadows when he said that you must be color blind on the green comment getcha eyes checked dude.
@@nattyking802 ... My eyes are fine, yours are not. So you get your eyes checked. While you're at it. Get your brain checked as well.
@@Gemini530 you outnumbered buddy. Just accept it and head on up the to the ER. See if they can find that peanut in that shell
S24U barely improved anything, so as before, in most cases Pixel wins.
...although that wouldn't be enough for me to get it and live with that chipset n battery.
pixel 8 pro the photography king at the biggining of 2024
For we Western consumers maybe, but if you compare it's photographic performance to that of some top Chinese flagships, you will see that it most definitely is not King.
@neilmcguinness4422 Totally depends what you think is the most important in a photo.
All video comparing telephoto because the S24 has more zoom... Pixel 8 is much better taking normal photos
I have the S24 Ultra and can say that the low light performance is really bad!! Both in photos and videos. My 2 year old MI 11 Ultra does it way better!
I suspect it's because of the Samsung sensor. They should've gone with Sony sensors 🤔
Google got free charge for A.I. Samsung uses Google A.I that you must pay for later on.
For the price, pixel 8 pro all day.
Pixel 8 pro is 🐐
I have the S24 Ultra but Google is much, much better
As S24u owner I don't think his camera that great.. Too much ai enhancements
Very weird halo hdr by Pixel and clarity slider at max.
El pixel es mejor
I just don't like Samsung's colour science.
Pixel 8 pro does pretty good for a midrange device.
Samsung high price 😢
I don't know what these people are looking at, much less what they are commenting on.... when it is so obvious that the S24 Ultra has a much better camera in every aspect...
Vivo x100 Pro will crush this two..
Apart from how it isn't available through official channels anywhere in Europe, making it virtually useless.
Besides, in the comparisons I've seen on UA-cam so far the Vivo's performance is disappointing after all the hype.
@@robintaylor2999 it will soon be available in europe...the camera, the charging, the performance at lower price then this two is next level..
Damn the pixel is pretty bad
Its better camera wtf u say
Im sorry samsung fans.. the Pixel 8 Pro is better.! and with the pixel 9 Pro coming.. it will even get better!
Well the difference is much more than what I was expecting 🫣 the gap is consistent 😳
Pixel kills Galaxy
