make sense, especially once you start mixing in head kicks into the entire ordeal, you then have your hands always ready and you can use both to block the incoming kicks. I understand plenty of fighters get away with parrying or blocking kicks with one arm, but that has always felt too risky to me. like I get it, fighting in itself is all about taking risks, but I think you should always maximize your chances at both attacking and blocking by having both hands/arms ready....and I learned that the hard way myself lol
As a southpaw, I really appreciate you taking the time to go over open stance in depth. My problem is, in drills the coach usually pairs up the two southpaws in the room, so we end up training closed stance, but sparring sessions are almost always against an orthodox fighter.
This is what i was looking for very good video you are amazing man keep posting more videoa like this i am asking my self often why you did not got a title shot in ufc you deserved it man but anyway only God knows why but for me you are a great fighter

In this stance throwing elbows feels pretty nice like movement wise its for me maybe a bit more natural than from my usual guard
Man this is good.

Ya most guys don’t really teach much open stance theory. Probably a decent idea for my next online course.
Great video. I was wondering if you also had the correct technique for slipping punches?
Thanks for posting this, pairing this with Muay Thai training makes it really street effective!!!
Excellent information!

Tuck your mic in your head wrap, it’ll stop the muffles during the key points
Any suggestions for blocking the 3 with a nub. For example see Baxter Humby and Jake peacock.
Awesome video

Have you tried Contraint led approach in teaching kids?
Don't you loose angle turning shoulder for takedowns?
Instructions unclear, I slipped the jab and then Orc choke-slammed my partner like in Shadow of Mordor :(
Edit: I’m now in jail
Instructions clear, but I didn’t like it so I: slipped the jab entirely and then head n arm choked my opponent instead
Your foundation looks like Shawn Strickland, Philly guard? Thanks for all your videos.
The Philly shell is different than his guard. Strickland is pretty much the only fighter offhand I can think of that utilizes the shell
@JohnLocke1776 what kind of guard is the one in the video called?
