First! Yay! I can’t wait to watch! Edit- the part where you asked Lumpy if he was eating a pen & he turned around with a pen sticking out of his mouth was absolutely hilarious!😂
Hi Lori - first of all, I’m so proud of you for staying on course and tackling your decluttering! I don’t think some viewers realize how vulnerable you are being by sharing this process. You better eat your Wheaties before tackling the bookcase…that one will be tough I suspect. Cheers, Katia
I never knew that much about AG dolls or even interested in dolls in general but you made it seem so fascinating! I think it would be so interesting if you took each doll and told their history and showed their clothes and accessories. You could declutter as you go. Love your declutter series! 😍
I LOVE hearing you talk about all things American Girl! As a child of the early 90s, I started with one doll (Molly) and was envious of my friends who were going "deep" on their dolls. But when it came time to make my Christmas list each year, I decided I'd rather have another doll (Felicity, then Addy!) rather than going deep. So I must have been one of the first girls in that wave who'd rather have multiple dolls than go deep. Love this content and seeing how valuable the stuff is now!
You’re doing a great job Lori! It’s so good to see I’m not alone in all the clutter. Starting my clean out this week. Kit Kittredge is a great movie for anyone to watch! Trish
This is my favorite series on UA-cam. The only series I’ve ever watched in real time and I can’t wait for the next Friday! Thank you for your dedication, transparency, and love that you inject in all that you do. ❤
I’m loving these videos and am getting so motivated to keep decluttering. You’re so transparent-we all have dirt and clutter-and I’m impressed with how you let the snarky comments go. Most of us are truly supportive and understanding and I’m in that place with aged parents and having their things too. We lost my dad in 2021 and I inherited a houseful of their things when Mom moved to Assisted Living. I have been getting rid of things in phases as I grieve and it’s cathartic to save the things that matter and to get rid of the rest. I also have some American Girl doll things from my now-married and pregnant 28-year-old daughter. I LOVED all of the the dolls and outfits and I am loving hearing about them and seeing your collection. I would enjoy more of that too. Thanks for all of the inspiration and doing the hard things. So glad you have Tina to help. I need a Tina. Everyone needs a Tina.😂
You and Jay have done so much since you began the declutter journey. Your kids should be very thankful as these are the decisions that are often left to family much later. You are such an honest, open, real woman, a completely classy lady, as well as a perfect mentor fo us. We all have these areas in our homes to go through. Love your vulnerability.
I’m loving this series!! The basement before vs after looks amazing 😻 and I love hearing you talk about the AG and their collections etc. I also love your hauls, where you go over what sold and of course this decluttering series! Always excited when you post a new video. ❤
Hi Lori, I have watched your videos for quite sometime, but especially these Friday purging videos! I, too, have been going through my house area by area, selling, donating and organizing! It really feels good to simplify and make some money too! I love hearing you talk about American Girl which I learned about with my first Granddaughter born in 2011. I bought her her first AG doll, Kit for Christmas in 2014 because Kit looked like her❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad! They really push me. Good thing I called it Slow Fashion FRIDAY...because it forces me to get this video up every week! Thanks for being here. xo
Lori you are doing an amazing job with your transparency and openness during this season! I was able to straighten the playroom this morning while you spoke about AG and while the books were an integral part of my childhood I never knew about this whole world with the dolls. Keep doing the heart and hard work ❤
In the spring we finally decluttered the last of the junk from the garage + our lawnmower (replacing the lawn with par-terre garden) & our youngest two downsized their storage boxes. We opted to live & raise our kids car-free 25 yrs ago. I organised(and decluttered) all the building 🛠️& home & bike maintenance tools & supplies and enjoyed the space & ease of the new arrangement all summer. Two weeks ago we deconstructed our old cedar garden shed and sold it - because we have the space in the garage to store our garden tools🪓. Yay! More space for raised beds veggie garden🌿
So glad SO many people are encouraging you!! You are doing great ... inspiring me and others to tackle our own stuff!! Be a duck with those naysayers...you are the best and I look forward to your videos every week!!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!!
If I could give some advice from someone who ended up with a mold disaster. Better to get rid of the carpet sooner than later. We left floor down after a basement water issue. It was only down for 4 months and thought it was dry but it ended up causing us a $200,000 renovation because the company we hired didn’t remediate the water properly. Mold mycotoxins spread so fast and two years later my family is just now recovering health wise
Lori you have been doing fabulous. I worked on my basement. I feel so much better. Also your knowledge on American girl is amazing. Thank so much for EVERYTHING. You really do encourage us. Keep talking. I adore it.
Thank you for sharing your life with us, keep going! You are doing great and please know you don’t owe anyone an explanation for where you are at in your life. You are one great classy lady who is inspiring to many.❤
The basement looks great Lori! I have started decluttering at my house with my niece's help. And that is thanks to you! I love hearing about the American girl dolls. 💜
Love the story of you and your friend taking your girls to NYC.... The basement looks great! You continue to be an inspiration for me. I've been slowly getting rid of stuff. Please continue to share Lumpy footage❣️🐾🐾❤
Enjoying your clean out and the history of the American Girl dolls. You are inspiring me, I'm currently organizing and purging to prepare for home renovations. I can't believe how quickly I let my inventory take up so much space. I've turned a unfinished storage room in our basement into my inventory room. My laundry room is big enough for me to have a small mail area and my main office has my desk and photo equipment. I watch your videos and it keeps me motivated! Also, I took the Vendoo plunge and I love it! I had tried the other tool that starts with a "L" but it didn't work for me. Vendoo's layout works with how I visualize things. Thanks again! Be Blessed!
Wow! What a great transformation. I am moving at a snail's pace compared to you, but I am moving, at least. I am also continuing to source while I whittle through the clutter, money pile, and items that no longer serve me. BUT, I've made it a point to get those items I source listed more quickly. I'm learning better habits, logging inventory right away and getting things washed and ready to photograph within a day instead of just piling it up. And the American Girl info is so fun. We never really got into it with my daughter beyond the books, but it is a fascinating phenomenon.
I collected American Girl dolls when I was a girl (I'm 37 now), and thankfully, my mom saved my dolls and their stuff for me - Kirsten and Samantha. I am learning so much about them now from you. My daughter isn't into them so I'm thinking I'll sell them - thanks for all the help!
I have been listing all the items in my death pile, I wont buy anymore until I know EVERYTHING is listed, and you know what? Sales are up for me! Keep it up, Lori! You're doing great.
I am so fascinated by your vast knowledge of AG! I was too old when AG dolls came out and my daughter wasn't into dolls, so I missed this whole thing. :(
I so get it. It’s amazing how much stuff you can collect through the years! It’s kinda scary😂. I recently moved to a bigger place and I still feel like I’m drowning in stuff😮. Being a reseller doesn’t help!😂Sometimes I wish I had a business that didn’t involve so much stuff😂
You know best what your customers expect from your business. You have done a wonderful job of understanding a balance in your inventory. Trust your instincts Lori.
Don't let the haters get you down. Purging is hard, you are doing the work! The big take away here is be more strict/conscious/fussy/particular about what you bring into your house and business - something we all should take on board. I know I have! So thank you 😊
well of course you have to thrift in order to keep your business going. A lot of people like seeing new items. Good job. As to American Girl, I sew and had made my niece some clothes for her doll. They were fun to make.
You are such an inspiration! The purpose of that one comment you mentioned was to throw you off your success. I wonder if they have an issue with over buying? Hoarding? I for one have been blessed watching your Slow Fashion Friday videos. 👍🏻love your channel. Always.
Just watched the video. Even one who lived in senior housing, the clutter builds. I can't wait to get tips on books when you do the shelves. I am not a reseller, but your tips on purging are helpful and encouraging. Some views think they are helping you by pointing out the errors of your day. Glad you got it off your chest.
The basement looks fantastic! You’re doing great! Loved the AG portion of the video! My sisters and I had OG Samantha, Molly and Kirsten dolls. We loved their books and little accessories. I was in love with my Molly doll, her little wooden school desk and her tiny school supplies. They were so special to me, so it was such fun to see you going through Kit’s stuff like that. I would love to see what items you have for Molly, Kirsten and Samantha in a future video!
I personally love the deep dive on the dolls. It's nice learning new things to watch for while thrifting. I think you're doing great on the purge. Gives me inspiration
You are doing an amazing job! Decluttering is so time consuming as well as physically and emotionally draining. You are doing great!! Keep up the good work!
Brilliant! Clutter takes up so much real estate - actually, in terms of space, and in your head, thinking of the things that you need to do with it xxx
Hi Lori! Long time listener of your show ❤️here in Maine, just wanted to pop in to say “be on the lookout “with Lumpy, We just got back picking up my 1 yr old pup from a 2 day emergency surgery/stay…he loves to chew pens and ping pong balls too😳 he swallowed a piece which caused an obstruction, we almost lost him 😭I’d hate to see anything happen, I was told it’s the most common emergency surgery and it’s not cheap. It cost 9K. The last thing I want to be is one of those people telling people what to do… just wanted to share… Thanks again for creating such great content!❤️ Love your show
Hi Lori, I just want to say that you are so inspirational! I am so motivated by your decluttering, I love seeing your process and your willingness to be so open. Thank you!
Lori… I think you are my UA-cam twin! I say that because I too sold creative memories, which caused my obsession with pens and markers. And having 4 girls I have soo many AG dolls and accessories… my only son says no to inheriting his sisters dolls for his daughters!! He had enough of that growing up, at least he was the oldest!! We also had a relative that worked for Mattel… And I’m a reseller in my hometown at our “ voted best antique shop of Indiana” I have learned a lot watching your channel. I’m glad I found you! Oh and I have a huge obsession with LV!! More things in common, parents lived in Japan, kids ran cross country and I have very pampered doggies… 🐶🐶🐶😄😄
Amazing job! I am helping a friend with a basement declutter. It has been a journey for her and her husband. 9 construction bags of trash, 2 huge boxes to donation, 3 bags recycling and 4 tubs for resale. We have only gotten through a small portion of the basement. Found pesos I had converted to US Cash...
So cool! Your space looks amazing! It's crazy how much improvement we could all make if we just tackled one thing per week at a time. Bookshelf next week will be a fun episode! Awesome work!!!
I loved your video. Even though I was not in the era of American girl dolls. I love to learn about it because you never know if you will come across thrifting. I also have creative memories to list. Love this series you are doing. Very inspirational ❤
Wow, Lori. That is some hard work right there! Congrats on getting the basement cleared out. I wish Vendoo could also handle Posh sharing. I'm not to the point yet where I can afford two monthly costs (three if I include photoroom for resizing, colour editing etc.)
Great video...people really need to mind their mouth. You are conquering and inspire me at least to declutter and I still thrift for my store too..😊😊 great video!
I really enjoy watching u talk about Kit and you can just feel your passion for collecting the dolls. Ty for sharing that ! I am actually trying to purge all of my last of 3 kids playroom. She's 13 and we are done with dolls. I never collected but we have an American girl doll life size house all furnishings and 5 huge extra large bins that I just can't part with. All the dolls and accessories. Decluttering meaningful things is so difficult!! The memories of my kids love for them and playing with them ❤️
Wow, wow, WOW. My first time watching one of your “Slow Fashion Friday” and….WOW. I mean no harm or disrespect, mold begins 24 - 48 hours after water exposure. The spores don’t become visible until 18 - 20+ days. I’m passionate(?) about mold because I’m highly allergic to it. PLEASE be careful with that!! Also, your Creative Memories gave me a flashback. I was in the industry for 10 years but could never afford CM so I started challenges in my crafty circles on how we could use scraps of this and that to make memories. My focus was in altered art mixed media, recycled/upcycled ephemera, junk journals and travel books. I even taught classes. I miss it a lot as I’ve crossed over to fabric, sewing and reselling. ANYWAY, cheering you on!! 🫶🏽
Don't listen to the mean comments. I love your slow fashion Fridays and think you're doing great! Also, duh, you still have to source...omg, people just need to stop...
I have said it before but I love this series. Such an Inspiration! Like why do I have two apartment size kitchen islands in my garage and have not used them for 20 years. They are going to donation tomorrow. Thanks Lori for the gentle kick in the pants!
Thank you for sharing this slow fashion series! I've enjoyed watching and learning from your videos for a long time. You have such a lovely friendly and calming demeanor. I resell part-time as well and am working on slowing down what I'm bringing in. This series has been good inspiration for me! 🙂♥️🍂
Congratulations on doing such a great job with this purging process. You have inspired me to look with a critical eye at my home to see what is needed/wanted & what is just clutter. I went through my Fall/Halloween decor in order to purge & ended up finding 5 things to sell & a box full of donations that are now out of my home. It felt great. Keep up the good work & thank you for taking the time to share this with all of us. It is much appreciated. All the best & God bless. Hugs...Paula
Another inspiring video. Thank you! I get so much energy watching you! I have every room that needs some Purging and watching you makes me think I can do it! Thank you Lumpy for making my day😂
I may have commented this already, so apologies. Every video I watch of yours makes me nostalgic and want to collect American girl dolls, which is the opposite of what I need Lol. I also need a declutter. 😂
Thank you so much for these decluttering videos! I really need to declutter my reselling hoard, and these videos are really inspiring me to get started. I hope I can follow through like you have. 😘
Hi Lori those keepsakes you can take photos on your phone before dumping them :-), if you wish. Or do a video going through it first, just in case you regret letting it go later. Great job so far - keep on cleaning! I am doing a tiny bit in comparison to you, you are really tackling it! I find the AG info interesting. I know nothing of it but I did buy a stable because I love horses. I was going to sell it but my photos looked terrible...and its so big. Its still out on my deck probably ruined now but I have a horse and the saddle and bridle too I need to find and list. Hey was just thinking maybe you should take all the money you make cleaning out you AG stuff and put in a special fund: special occasion like weddings for kids, or for a vacation you always wanted to take as a family...(I would love to go to greece). The more you make on your sales the better your "thing". Mine would go towards a new car or a vacation. Just a thought. Might be fun for viewers to see how your fund is doing :-).Oh that mean comment! Argh that makes me mad too. People can be so mean, but don't waste your breath even answering it. They won't care what you have to say, obviously they are not nice people, have to say something negative. I know as a reseller yes even if you have a backlog built up you still have to go out and get fresh new items. You can cut back on it, cut down on it as you are clearing out but still you can't completely stop....that would not be a good thing for your psyche or your closet.
I had 4 daughters and now have 6 grand daughters. The AG stuff is so exciting! I have a gap from the originals that my girls collected up until about 2018😊
I once found Kit's Amelia doll at a thrift store in a 5/$1 bin with no coat, goggles, or gloves. I barely knew anything about American Girl, so I passed it up, but later looked up Pleasant Company which I'd seen on the tag. I went back as soon as possible and got her, cleaned her up, and made around $30. I came to your videos just to learn more about AG for reselling, but also really enjoy the decluttering videos.
Amazing love it you are doing awesome. I have been working on organizing all my death pile donated as of now 15 bags of clothes, shoes and purses that are not worth the hassle but will make someone else happy. I am donated to an amazing Thrift store that gives to the Needy and has good prices for everyone. I have had the slowest few weeks on Posh so I am hoping all my listing pays off. I listed almost 50 items this week. I love slow fashion Friday and want to thank you for your videos you helped me see the light , on the clutter, on too much consumption and on enjoying what we have.
Thank you so much for this messageTina. We are all making progress. Thank you for the encouragement. it means a lot to me! I love that you feel so good about where you are donating your things. I may try to seek out a similar place. Have a great weekend!

First! Yay! I can’t wait to watch! Edit- the part where you asked Lumpy if he was eating a pen & he turned around with a pen sticking out of his mouth was absolutely hilarious!😂
He's hysterical!
OMG I burst out laughing when I saw him. He is so adorable!!! 😂
I laughed out loud at that 😂
and Adorable!!

I do love listening to your American girl knowledge. I find it fascinating
I'm glad..... when I was editing I saw how long I was talking about it andI thought it was too much! lol!

It's so wonderful that you have help with your decluttering Betty! Keep up the great work.Thank you for your kind words!
I love all the AG talk. Who else can tell us what you know and l don’t take it for granted! Please tell us more! Thanks so very much!
I'm so glad you enjoy it! I'll chat more in future videos!

Love it I’m super organize and I love too see videos of reseller that are so organized and clean.

love to hear about your AG dolls and experiences working there! I love whatever you want to share about too! Lumpy is soooo adorable!

Hi Lori! Long time listener of your show ❤️here in Maine, just wanted to pop in to say “be on the lookout “with Lumpy, We just got back picking up my 1 yr old pup from a 2 day emergency surgery/stay…he loves to chew pens and ping pong balls too😳 he swallowed a piece which caused an obstruction, we almost
lost him 😭I’d hate to see anything happen, I was told it’s the most common emergency surgery and it’s not cheap. It cost 9K. The last thing I want to be is one of those people telling people what to do… just wanted to share…
Thanks again for creating such great content!❤️ Love your show
Hi Lori,
I just want to say that you are so inspirational!
Absolutely love these videos! Congratulations on all the progress and thank you for sharing with us!!!
Thanks so much Jennifer!
Awesome work!!!
congrats on the progress. you are inspiring me to start decluttering
I loved your video. Even though I was not in the era of American girl dolls. I love to learn about it because you never know if you will come across thrifting. I also have creative memories to list. Love this series you are doing. Very inspirational ❤
I never knew anything about American Girl dolls, they are actually quite interesting. Thank you.
Thanks for being here Vickie!
The basement looks great! As far as AG, if you have any books or book sets they sell very well. I sold most of mine fairly quickly.
The memories of my kids love for them and playing with them ❤️
fricken loving this series!!
P.S. LUMPY love!! 🐾🖤
Lori you’re amazing and an inspiration !
Thank you!! I appreciate your encouragement so much!
Keep swimming! You are doing great !
Thank you for sharing this slow fashion series! I've enjoyed watching and learning from your videos for a long time. You have such a lovely friendly and calming demeanor.
I resell part-time as well and am working on slowing down what I'm bringing in. This series has been good inspiration for me! 🙂♥️🍂
Wow! What progress! You should be very proud of yourself. Purging isn’t easy. TFS❣️you are very inspiring.❤️
I’m so proud of you. You are doing an amazing job! 🎉
Thank you Mindy!
Please do more videos on the historical dolls!!! Love your American girl videos!!
Lumpy is just too darn cute!!
Lori, you are an inspiration. I can’t wait to start my decluttering adventure. Love the AG segment, very interesting. Keep up the good work.
Looking good Lori! The decluttering gets addictive for me!
Loved this one Lori - Please do more deep dives in the othe AG dolls
Thank you so much for these decluttering videos! I really need to declutter my reselling hoard, and these videos are really inspiring me to get started. I hope I can follow through like you have. 😘
Would love to hear Jay's comments on your progress! I have sons, so liked hearing the AG Saga. JB
Here for the AG stuff but can also relate as I'm decluttering stuff in preparation to downsize now that we will soon be empty nesters.
So hooked on this series, I cannot wait for Saturday mornings ( european time).
I have a gap from the originals that my girls collected up until about 2018😊
They are so special! I hope your granddaughters will enjoy them!
I'm so glad you went back for her! Thanks for watching! xo
It sounds like you had a wonderful time working at American Girl. Now, a new generation of little girls can enjoy the dolls.
Hi Lori! Lumpy with the pen...made my day! You are making such great progress..Very Motivating.
🥰I BET YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN BREATHE 🥰 PROUD OF YOU LORI not an easy thing To do... you've INSPIRED ME !
