- You won't believe the designer pieces I found in my home to sell! I have had it with the mountains of clutter in my personal & professional life. I've dedicated one video each week to sharing my journey with you as I peel back the layers that have weighed me down for years! Life is too short for all of the STUFF that is holding me back! This week we are decluttering that dreaded corner of the bedroom where things seem to multiply by the day! I’m going through a pile of clothes “donated” to me by my 21 year old daughter and I’ll be organizing my Poshmark & eBay business a bit by sorting through some shoes & piles of clothes! Feel free to organize and declutter while you watch!

Welcome back to another Slow Fashion Friday video where I am decluttering my home & my reselling business, one trash bag at a time! This is week 2 in my series! I am tackling a corner of my bedroom that hasn’t been clear in years & we’ll be organizing shoes in my inventory!! Each week I am one step closer to my clutter-free goals! I hope you enjoy it!
Got the north face sleeping bag at the bins for Rocco😂
Yes, I LOVE blankets. The softer, the better!
Oh, and Lumpy is so darn cute! He kills me!
I always take my older or stained blankets, mismatched sheets and pillowcases, and stained or tattered towels to the animal shelter. They use the heck out of those things. If I find things like that in a thrift store, if the price is right, I'll purchase it and head straight to the shelter!
Lori, your local animal shelter would probably LOVE to have any blankets or towels that you need to have out of your life!
Just love “Lumpy” - he is so cuddly! And of course love your videos!
Today I cleared my sunroom. I threw away old boxes and old tools. I am clearing house my house and my dead piles. It feels really good to finally enjoye my sunroom again.
Excellent job! You are so inspiring! My new rule is that if even if I paid a lot for it, if it is not being used it is going. I am also trying to buy things for the life I have, not whatever fantasy life is going on in my head. I saw a stunning leather bag last week but very formal office style. I wanted it sooo badly but I told myself “get a grip” I am 66 and retired. It was not the kind of bag one takes to Target😂
It's great what you are doing Lori! I just wonder about donating items with major flaws or no value. Why don't same the thrift store the expense of going though so items and perhaps just throwing them away? Also save shoppers the disappointment of unknowingly purchasing a flawed item? This is something I struggle with because I want to save things from the land fill, but some things are too far gone. But the main thing is to get it gone, so keep going!
Same! I don’t judge Lori, just bothered me every time she puts damaged item in donate pile. I don’t know how are thing handled in the States, but in Europe we have recycle bins for fabric.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Many times there are things people put in the trash that they thought were useless. I’ve picked them up and either used or sold them. Someone could easily custom dye flawed items and upcyclers would cringe if she threw all that fabric away.
@@thereclaimedlife Oh, that is really interesting...so then does Goodwill export their discarded textiles to another state? Or do they have connections to large textile recyclers? I am very interested in any possible solutions. I just hate to think of the thrift stores putting these things with major flaws back on the racks to be purchased by people (like me) who are not that good at finding flaws when shopping. Then I don't want to discard them and leave them in a "death pile" or re-donate which is just perpetuating the cycle.
Thrift stores like goodwill are supposed to recycle textiles. So hopefully they do.
American Recyclers takes clothes, but TerraCycle sends you a box to fill and return to them. And check with name brand companies to see if they have a damaged clothing recycling program. I think Patagonia does, and Lululemon, I believe, gives you a discount for bringing items in.
I have a friend who unravels yarn from damaged sweaters and uses it for new projects!
Watching you declutter is so satisfying!
"It kind of cozies on you." My favorite phrase from the video. :)
What I am noticing in this video is how having too much stuff is a learned behavior. I see this between myself and my daughter. She is like Angie and brings me bags of clothing to list. I think back to when I was a kid, I had nothing. I am shocked at how much stuff our kids accumulate. I am trying to work with my daughter to not be such a consumer and to not by such cheap stuff. I admire your showing this side of your life.
Trying to work with your daughter "to not be such a consumer" struck a chord with me!! When my daughter was a sophomore in college she had a huge pile of clothing to take to Plato's Closet. Much of it new with tags. I asked her to leave it with me for our housekeeper's teenage daughter who had gone back to Brazil and had very little. She refused. I never heard the end of it. I became quite angry about her lack of generosity toward a friend's daughter, as I had come to really love this person. She also became argumentative. I told her to get the F out of my house (she was here to pick up family furniture that I was giving to her). I ended up with the clothes, put them in a suitcase in the attic and have not opened it since. I'm not sure what the moral to this story is, except that I handled it very poorly!!!
In fact I would love to hear input and don't expect it to be complimentary!! My husband brings this up every time he gets angry with me. It certainly eats on me. I know I was wrong but, 20 years later, it is still being thrown back at me. Any input would be accepted graciously. I don't expect forgiveness at this point. Oh my!! Please delete any or all of this!!!!!!!
You deserve forgiveness, and it's petty for your husband to bring it up 20 years later.
@@annholland51 Mail the clothes to your daughter or donate them. Forgive yourself, I'm sure you and your daughter have changed since this time. As for your husband, tell him it is your business, not his, let him know that his bringing it up is not appreciated, then bring up something he is ashamed of or embarrassed by. My husband tried to make me forgive my brother for something by calling him. I looked at him & asked him when was the last time he spoke to his brother, then I reminded him that is was my business not his. Of course, my brother & I speak now but at the time I did not want any advice on MY business. Being married doesn't give him the right to my feelings. It's disrespect on his part, dont take any disrespect from him or your daughter. Stand up for yourself, no one else is going to do it for you.
You should be so proud of yourself!
😂😂😂Love that! Cagney & Lacey. You are an awesome pair!
Love the longer videos!!
I love the Slow Fashion Friday videos. I recently started to purge my items as well. My death pile was about 15 bins full of clothing. I'm now down to 7 bins in less than a couple weeks. I've posted, donated and also set aside some items for my yearly yard sale. As for my personal items, I am starting that this week. I went through my own clothing several months ago and can fit my entire wardrobe in my one dresser. My closet has only a couple sweaters and pants in it. My daughter was starting to worry say that the house is starting to look empty. I said, "no honey, the house finally feels open and flowy. I think she is starting the see my vision. It's so much easier to clean uncluttered spaces. Here's to all of us tackling our clutter one day at a time!!
You are off and running!! I can see your plan coming together!! It really feels so great!! keep up the awesome work! xo
This is so motivating. Those shoes are $200! I had no clue! I would be selling those so fast!
As a sewer I have a lot of fabric and the call to buy is always loud. Sewers have a saying to help them from overbuying and it's "shop your stash". Watching you find treasures as you declutter reminded me of this and that I need to shop my stash more. I'm sure I'm going to find some hidden gems that would look awesome sewn up. I bet you never thought your videos would apply to sewers but they do.
This is so amazing! And I love this non-conformist concept of an anti-haul!! Brava, Lori!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
very impressive Lori! The small projects translate to some bigger transformations. When I started declutter it was the momentum I needed to keep going. So give yourself a big hug and remember you are doing awesome! Thanks again for another real life video
Thank you! These types of comments help keep me motivated. xxox
Cozy blankets accumulate sooo quick 😂 you’re inspiring me as always ❤
Hi Lori, my extra reason to do this decluttering with you: It’s to good an opportunity. If I just watch you do it, I will be sooo envious afterwards and perhaps somewhat ashamed. Because I know you will succeed at AND continue on with it so… simply …thank you.
I so enjoy all those energetic commenters of yours. Definite Cheering Squad.
And as you advised: Folks, don’t wait anymore like so many of us have. Life happens, health, strength and (yes) memory gets challenging. Pick a drawer, closet or corner … and Away We Go!!!
nice finds 🔥
I love seeing the process. It helps me declutter by talking through the items to see if I really need them. Kudos on a fantastic week.
So proud of you girl!!! Love it!
Also I like when I can see you and not just the camera on the items, but that was just what worked in the bedroom. Anything is fine with me! ❤
Loved this video so much!! And love the length, don't make them shorter. I'm finding them so motivating
Omg.. you’re doing such progress.. be very proud of yourself.. ❤🎉
I love watching “declutter with me” on UA-cam. And I love your unique perspective from a reseller’s viewpoint. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed with stuff when you resell.
My closet is much smaller than yours but I understand the chaos in your soul when you are getting buried in things.
Thanks so much for this message! Every little bit helps!
I am a reseller, and I am very much enjoying watching you go through this process.
Love the process. I have begun the same journey and you have help motivate me. Love the new format!
Great job Lori!!
Thank you!!
Oh how I love these videos. I can feel the sense of relief and satisfaction ❤
Thank you!! Every bag out the door makes me smile!
Lori you’re doing great! Every time I watch it motivates me! Keep it going!❤
Wow such an achievement! Lovely video!
Thank you Sandra!
Lori I gasped when you showed your Tiek collection OMG ❤❤❤ I wished we were the same size
These videos are becoming very motivating. I’m also getting rid of stuff. My goal is five items a day. I can’t believe how much stuff I have. ❤
I also have a corner in my bedroom under that clutter is a gorgeous chaise lounge. I hope to see it by Sunday😂
You can do it!!!
I enjoy all content of the video..btw. Even the sorting process of piles of stuff.
Fabulous Job Lori, it is so nice to see how excited you are to clear away the things that have been heavy on your heart. I'm looking forward to the next video. God Bless
Why would you donate stained items?? Who would want that? If it is stained, I usually use it for rags or throw it away. Just curious.
Or just put it in one of the clothes recycling bins. There is no point in donating clothes to a thrift store that will never get bought! Those recycle bins break down the fabric to be repurposed, as opposed to ending up in a landfill
@@emilyvoorhees240 Totally agree...I've never seen a clothing recycle bin though. Can you tell us more about how to find one?
@andreabower7693 Just thinking. Is it possible the stain is removable but she doesn’t want or have the time to do take care of the stain?
There are many people who upcycle items. Just because you may not wear a shirt that has a stain, doesn't mean it cant find a new life. People make quilts and pillows out of recycled t-shirts and other scraps...purses out of jeans. I have a friend who loves patches...she will put patches on things, even to cover stains or discolorations that reflect her personality and she has her own unique style. People make fabric tie rugs...I personally donate stained/worn towels, sheets, pillowcases and blankets to animal shelters where they will get much more life from them.
@@sherrymcgill6356 I agree with you...but...who is going to go to a thrift store and knowingly pay up to get such items? In my area, I have noticed that Goodwill in particular, does not mark items as "for upcycling" "flawed" or even "ASIS." Then someone (perhaps like you or me) will buy it and eat the cost and either repair it (donating our labor and time) or "re-donate" it and start the cycle all over again.
If you haven’t donated those tea towels I would buy them.
Omg blankets I absolutely CANNOT part with!! I love your videos and it really all resonates since I live in MA (practically RI).
Love following along with this!!! Working through stuff here too as we get ready to move. Thanks for the inspo.
Go Lori!!!🎉🎉🎉
Realreal still takes Lafayette148 and Ungaro as well - usually send them my Lafayette 148 and Ungaro
Thank you! I wasn’t sure. 😘
Wow it’s looking great Lori
small steps make big difference! keep going Lori!
Cleaned out pantry today😂😂❤
Congratulations!!! Every bit helps!
Yay, Lori!🎉❤ Keep going!
Great series! Just a little note, if you want to donate blankets lots of animal shelters will take them and they go to a great cause!
Looks really nice Lori. I like!
Great day of progress. You did a lot and it looks marvelous.
What a wonderful Video. It is working for me also. Great job
Thank you for following along!!
Way to go! I am enjoying the videos as you are making them! 😁
Hi Lori. This series has motivated me to declutter my inventory. I’ve been removing 15 pieces a week that are just not moving in my store. Also cleaning out my own closet. Feels good to remove clutter.
LOVE these decluttering videos, so inspirational!
Love the purging videos. Very motivating.
Thank you Lori.
Thanks for watching Susan!
Nice job!!! Every little piece will add up!!!
Thank you for the inspiration and motivation! I cleared the clutter in my bathroom-finally a clean counter! Love this series!!
So impressive. Love watching how you make your decisions.
I have been getting so inspired to do the same! I like when you show us the items that you are getting rid of! Very helpful! You rock!
I love hearing about your process ❤
Big 10 teams sell well so consider selling those! You won’t get tons, but $20-35 is pretty likely. Nice progress! Long videos with the details are great!
Enjoying this series Lori! I live in a two bedroom apartment with my three kids and my living room is also my bedroom, my office, and where I do all my listings. Things pile up fast!!! I am not an organized person by nature and struggle to stay focused on one project at a time but purging and organizing is one of the best feelings out there. Thanks for showing your process :)
I need to purge my inventory for items that have been with me since the beginning of time. Some have flaws, some are just items ppl are not looking for and I’ve been putting it off for months! Motivation activated.
This process has inspired me to do the same, to get rid of thing that I do not have use for.
Lori I love that you are doing this. It’s helping me do the same!
Great job 🎉
Shefit is a great brand. Love it for horseback riding
Great job! We purchased the family home recently, and have to clean/purge three generations of stuff. It’s daunting, but your video is great encouragement! Thank you for sharing. ❤
Thanks for another encouraging video!
Great job this week! 👍🏽
This is awesome!!!
This has been so motivating! I appreciate seeing how you make decisions about what to sell and what to donate. Very helpful. Please keep doing these videos.
Absolutely list the Dior 😍I'm listing my red items right now with holiday keywords.
I totally enjoyed!
Great job !!! It always feels great to accomplish what you set out to do. And this benefits you personally and professionally - how wonderful ! You are an inspiration 🩷💚
I’m loving this series
I love seeing the process and am so glad you’re sharing this journey with us! So inspiring, thank you!! ❤❤
Thank you so much!
I cleaned my corner chair! Thanks Lori

Thank you for sharing! I had no idea!
Great job Lori!❤
I find these videos very motivating. Keep up the cleansing . I am trying to do same . It is very challenging especially as we get older .
I am loving these anti-hauls! It’s so satisfying to declutter (and satisfying to watch too)! I’ve been working on decluttering, myself!
So happy we can declutter together!
Guilty… Blanket problem 🙋🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Especially the light colored cream ones 😊
Those neutral colors keep us hanging on!!
Curious what your COG is every month vs. your sales? It seems like you buy so much inventory. I know all of your sales are pure profit as you don't have to pay a car payment, insurance, mortgage, groceries, or utilities, etc. as you have told us (lucky). But how much do you spend a month on inventory vs your net profit? Would be interesting to know.
You are doing some awesome work. It’s very inspirational. I have such a hard time knowing where to start.
Enjoyed this video very much lol I felt satisfied just seeing everything get organized. Loved it
I was hoping you would put a video out today.
Sorry it was so late in the day! Thanks for being here. ❤️
This is Great... I need to start again with my decluttering. I have saved a lot. I always say one room at a time. Thanks
Impressive! You should be very proud of your decluttering. It’s such a hard thing to do. I donate blankets I don’t want to humane shelters.
I never comment on UA-cam videos, but I wanted to let you know Ive been loving this series! Great job!
This is so inspiring ❤ Lumpy is so darn cute
i am so like you! My blanket problem! (among other clutter issues) Thanks so much for your inspiration!
The "comme il faut" shoes are shoes for argentine tango, they are narrow to give you good stability and the are expensive ;-)
Liked the video!
“not you Lumpy” 😂
Excellent content!
Thank you for taking us along on the journey💯💎💯
Love these videos! I had went through my jewelry last week and got rid of a bunch. Then today I was transferring it all from a standing one to a mirrored one and forgot a whole top section of the box that had so much stuff. Went through it all while watching your video. Thanks!
You are doing fantastic!! I'm loving this series. I like how you show before and after pictures.
Keep on going girl!!
Any decluttering is impressive, Lori. Very well done!
