Homemade Strawberry Jam

  • Making homemade strawberry jam is quite simple and you can even use frozen strawberries. This means that you can make it all year long, even when strawberries aren’t in season. I also love that this jam isn’t cloyingly sweet, since I use significantly less sugar than most recipes call for.

    I am excited about this simple recipe. I am using frozen strawberries, Swerve brown sugar and one whole lemon (juice). I didn't want to use regular sugar as I was going to and brown Swerve was the only other thing I had. Trying to cut back on sugar. Also, I only had about a cup but I am hopeful that it will still be delicious and healthier;) Thank you for sharing! Blessings!

      be careful not to go to low with the sugar, it’s an important part of the preservation process and could result in botulism if you don’t add enough!

      I mean.. The reason why people making jam is to preserve fruit.
      So it's pretty long, i guess. Like maybe more than 1 week. Go search the info on internet since idk about jam knowledge. That's why i watch this video to learn

    For how long do you have to boil?

    • @OlgasFlavorFactory
      @OlgasFlavorFactory  Рік тому +2

      About 45 min, but it could also take about an hour. It depends on your stove, on the pot that you use and if you use fresh or frozen berries. The jam should reach a temp of 215-220 degrees Fahrenheit.
      If you don’t have a thermometer, I have more details on how you can check without a thermometer on my website: www.olgasflavorfactory.com/summer-favorites/how-to-make-homemade-strawberry-jam/

    • @OlgasFlavorFactory
      @OlgasFlavorFactory  Рік тому +3

      Foam is a result of the boiling process releasing the air and forming bubbles or foam. It’s better to remove it, because it can cause your jam to spoil faster. It’s harmless if you eat the jam quickly, but if you want to store it for a long time, it’s best to remove the foam. Also, removing the foam will make the jam more clear, the foam makes it cloudy.
