Those duck/heart/bear molds aren't really meant for food. They were made to make snowballs. As for why TikTok people make it look easy, it's because a lot of them are faked. Anyone interested how should check out the How to Cook That channel's Debunked series. She tries the method, and when it inevitably fails, she explains why.

  • @finnianheart
    @finnianheart Місяць тому +4

    for the flowering dumpling maker:
    - you need a much thinner dough! roll it out a bit more first.
    - WAYYYY less filling!!
    - dip a finger in some water and trace the edges of the dough circle before having the gadget close it, the water acts as a "glue" with the dough
hope these help if you decide to give it another shot!

That's the problem with us having more and more electric dependent items. It's super convenient until you forgot to charge it or don't have enough power sockets or there's a power cut. Also it gets blimin expensive, not just to buy them in the first place but to afford the inflated power bills from having to charge a dozen things for each family member every day. Having said that, I'd be lost without half my electronic devices! 😂

For the butter bear, try running the outside under hot water or dip it in warm water for a very short time (not long enough for the whole thing to melt but just long enough to warm up all of the mold) for a short time before opening it. It will slightly melt the layer that is stuck to the mold just enough to loosen it and hopefully let it come loose from the mold properly rather than pull apart when you do open it

The first one reminds me of both the deli slicer and the kitchen mandolin, which are famous for demanding blood from their users.
The heating pack is basically a chemical battery that gets shorted out by the water you add, generating a bunch of heat. If the reaction is sluggish you can add a bit of salt to the water to make it more electrolytic.

Just slight mistake on the hotpot one,you have to put all ingredients in plastic tray + water then pour water to the heat pack underneath. Insert the tray with food then cover and wait.

I tried that self cooking instant hot pot and while my spice tolerance is high, it definitely was intense!

The bread slicer works and gets a 8, but the dumpling maker you need to close yourself gets a 7?

The smaller dumpling maker was no better, I got it on impulse, didn’t work at all

So after reading all the comments abut how common bread slicers are in Germany, I checked Amazon Germany and found electric slicers for half the price of this manual model. I would like to know just why these devices are so common in Germany. Are the breads in Germany (e.g, Rye bread) particularly hard to slice? Don't they take up a lot of space in the kitchen? Never heard of them before here in the USA.

No, they are not that hard to slice, but we eat a lot of bread in Germany. These cutters just make it easier und cleaner to cut the bread

I think is a north American thing that something such as a bread slicer is “crazy” but having guns in the house is not lol 😅

Manually operated one actually works better and it is environmentally friendly and will out last the electric version

@@thomasschumacher5362Exactly! That's why I bought the mechanical version. Same as my late grandmother used to have in her kitchen for decades. She used to make the best rye bread. Miss you so much, Omi!
