I also just got this bike. The only change I made was taking off the remote grip lockouts for the shocks and switching the shock to a manual lockout. Had to send the shock back to Fox and get it adjusted to a manual. I don't race, so I really don't need it. That being said, I also changed out my handlebar and grips. Love it so far.
Chase, I would be blaming those sketchy Pirelli tires. They just don't excell at edge grip. Have you ever had your shock retuned, being light you may find a lighter compression tune would help. Pretty sure Pivot nail this on the smaller frames
The Pivot is super dialed for my weight and I’ve been super happy with it so far! The brain on the epic never really worked for me and I would always end up turning the brain down as much as possible. I stand by really liking Pirelli tires - I just died on some wet leaves! 😅 But we’ll see if the tires survive the winter on this bike. I really love Pirelli for gravel, still deciding for mtb!
The only situation where I think you would wanna lock a dw link suspension in a marathon race would be on pavement or gravel. In that scenario you’d want the fork locked as well. It just doesn’t make sense
In late I know... I think the rear only lockout is a North American preference thing... I have watched a few intros of bikes from channels like GCN and the like where they have said, dual lockout in Europe and asia, single in NA. As a Brit who lives in the US I can see it either way... I basically never lock out my fork (except if I am sprinting on the last flat section to the finish line), but lock out my shock all the time. Finding the lever on the fork is super easy most of the time, wheras the rear is a lot harder, because you are only going by feel. Also if I were to forget to unlock the suspension over the crest of a hill then the shifter mounted setup makes sense...
First of all , there was no need that BB to be knocked out to route the dropper cables , its to back placed 12:41 is not help in any way that hole cut out , specially if start to run the cables from seatpost-BB-headtube direction , secondly , are you sure that pressing tool have a center hole flange ? You know , to drive the main screw in the perfect parallel center ... and how on earth the paint come of ? anyway , that frame its beautifuly designed , its the second in the market what i would buy , the first would be a Niner rkt

I love my Mach 4 sl!!!!
Marry it
Awesome bike - love the color. Hope her foot's ok!
Thanks! Still working through that. Not broken but definitely a bad sprain.
Love the build videos, need some ride reviews of all of these XC whips
There being worked on. Just take a lot more time to make
I like the rear only remote on the 120 version. Makes sense being this is more of a marathon/trail bike.

Nice how is the supercaliber riding
Someone bought it. I’m waiting for project one to get another one haha

Curious which saddle and grips she went with for her Leadville build?
So, when will we see one with the new Sid suspension? I was even thinking about this on my ride just now.
That video is filmed and in the editing queue
@@bicyclestation Heck Yeah!
I just received my Mach 4 SL frame and it's clear that the BB shell is not reamed all the way through. You're lucky if all you damaged is paint!
Yea that’s what I think happened in the video also. And yes it was just the paint chip luckily.
Great bike
Congrats
I have the WC version
Are you running lock out on shock or fork?
If so how are you locking out with those grips?
I think it’s dumb that it has half a lockout so I removed it. That was my big gripe with the bike in the video.
@@bicyclestation
Ok. Mine fully locks fork or shock or both. But I do want to change grips😩
What grips does it have? The new rock shox remote you can use foam ones if you want
dreambuild
Just ran across this video lately. Did Leadville not happen because you couldn't get an entry in the lottery?
Non chainstay flex XC bikes (Besides Mach 4 SL and Ibis Exie mentioned in the video):
- Mondraker F-Podium
- Norco Revolver
- BMC Four Stroke
Good list. Some more:
- Intense Sniper (dual link)
- Ari/Fezzari Signal Peak (Horst link)
- Niner RKT 9 RDO (dual link)
- Rocky Mountain Element (Horst link)
Literally deciding between this and top fuel!!!! Do a comparison
Top fuel review in the editing process now! If you wanna race at all go pivot.
Trey was definitely giving nervous looks
It was definitely a tense situation

Can you elaborate on what you’re saying? What is a center hole flange? Abby bike tools press is a fairly high end press
Everyone knows that 680 is where bar width is at.
It’s the future
Damn....
Sram/rockshox kills fox imo.
PSA to everyone, infiniteBB’s do not work on pivots😭
Can I try to put one in your bike?
