The most awkward thing about APB is the EO step in the middle of the solve; I tried it out because for me ergonomics is extremely important (I get carpal tunnel really quickly). I use ZZ CT and occasionally roux but I definitely see the potential in these petris-based methods. The main problem is that you really need to learn a ton of algorithms to become efficient with them. You should try metha, its a bit easier in that regard though it's heavily algorithmic.
I guess the actual lesson is that it's important to do a method that's fun for you. The target audience of APB is people who love algs, and you don't seem to love algs. So may as well stick with a method that makes you excited to solve.
Most advanced Belt Method is like Square-1: Step 1: EO Belt Step 2: Separate Yellow & White (SYW) Step 3: Orient Both Layers (OBL) Step 4: Permute Both Layers (PBL) Still 4 steps, like CFOP, but the algorithm count is so high. Beginner Belt Method: Step 1: EO Step 2: Belt Step 3: Separate Corners (SC) Step 4: Separate Edges (SE) Step 5: Orient White Corners (OWC) Step 6: Orient Yellow Corners (OYC) Step 7: Corner Parity (CPr) Step 8: Permute All Corners (PAC) Step 9: Edges on White Layer (EWL) Step 10: Edges on Yellow Layer (EYL) Hope you try the Belt Method for a month!
tbh I dont think apb will get good results. I do have a story about petrus. Back in March, I went to a comp with a few of my friends and we talked about methods for a little bit, one of them being petrus. We just said it was trash and moved on. Later, the dad of the guy I was talking to came up to me. "Hey, I heard you were badmouthing Petrus earlier, do you think it's bad or something?." "Yes." I said. it turns out that HE uses petrus. I asked why and where he learned it, and he said that he saw that petrus broke a record in the newspaper. I asked when this was, and he said something like 2007. btw nice 2gll at 3:18 and ab at 6:56 & 1:04
It’s kinda like your Cross-1 method, but sideways. Where instead of using that free cross edge slot to orient your F2L edges, therefore giving you a rotationless F2L… you orient ALL edges to give you ZBLL. At that point, if you’re not committed to learning full ZBLL, then don’t bother with last layer edges and just do full OLL & PLL… meaning Sideways Cross-1 is better 😂😂. Also, Sideways Cross-1, instead of M moves, it’s S moves (which I’d say should be faster because with S moves, you stay in home grip compared to M moves but… idk).
Just use actual petrus. It’s my main and I’m starting to get back into the hobby. Curious what people think of petrus now. I average 18 (used to be 16 but I quit cubing for 2 years) with petrus and around 20 with roux(my CFOP and ZZ are so far in the toilet I don’t ever solve them). The regular EO step in petrus is super easy if you use wide and M moves mixed in. Getting good at making the first block is also really important but makes you faster
I have been thinking about making tutorials (not 100% sure yet). For now, I recommend watching Liam’s APB tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/Qlel9fzaiAM/v-deo.htmlsi=uRQm-B8xf3CbRLAh
Hi Alex! in the start of the video you said you wont be learning any new algs and etc but and the middle for the video your start doing last layer with ZBLL, without any explanations, so i get confused, in the roux 2 video you do ZZ in a competition with ZBLL also, so, if you really learned ZBLL how did you learned it? there are like 493 algs
I wouldn't say worse, but it feels a bit forced, since you learn algs for like every step after fb or 223 for just dividing the cube to few alg steps. Stuff like dfdb and lxs feels very alg forced for solving normal pieces although it does work, but there's other ways to get to zbll states like using zbls or just zz-a for no rotations. I do still like the method for being a good algorithmic method but I still don't see the point to it
@bigoofersrock You’re good! COLL orients and permutes the corners, while OCLL just orients them. OCLL is the cases of OLL where the cross is already solved on top. So OLL and OCLL are basically the same.
Damn I wonder who made that APB tutorial they must be incredibly handsome and charismatic
Our favorite lad from Oceania and
He must have luscious blonde longs
Lol, I liked your APB vids. They were very good.

Now do belt method for a month lol
Yes please!
yes
do this or i’m unsubbing
nice solves dude! i can't blame you for not liking apb it gets boring after a while, but switching methods is a lot of fun
Thanks!!
Yea, I love trying out different methods :)
Great video!! The overall vibe was perfect. Never a dull moment. Great Job!!!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
Amazing video as always. i will never stop loving your vids. awesome!!
Thank you!!!!
congratulations on becoming sub 15 with APB and switching methods bro I knew you could do it
Nice video Alex!
I’m looking forward to the month of 3BLD. And you *will* do a month off 3BLD!
Yep I will soon hopefully lol
Amazing video like always :D
Thank you :D

FINALLY THANK YOU FOR DOING MY REQUEST ALEX 😃
Learning a whole new method in itself is impressive.
Trust me, after beginner CFOP, beginner Roux and learning EO you can learn most methods.
@@a.k_theportal3085I’m on that route rn. And to be honest I don’t know what to do now.
Bro ur so underrated even though ur vids r so good hope u get 100k by 2024!!!
That would be awesome!!!!
Thanks :D
Awesome as always
i love the method vids, cant wait for Mehta
Mehta is worse APB
amazing video as always. also, i didn’t know apb was a subset of petrus
Yea APB has its roots grounded in Petrus.
Also thanks!!!!
@@CubingWithAlex yeah, thx for teaching me smth new
this channel is underated

Next video: I tried CFOP for 30 days
HE FINNA GONNA COMPLETE EVERY METHOD

Hi I'm Harrison
I'm happy as hell so fucking thank you for making this
I love your videos!
Thanks!!! I’m glad you enjoy them!!!
Do “I Just Peel the stickers off method for a week
That would be a fun April Fools video lol
I actually did this method for a while as my main method before I realized I did better with CFOP
An interesting method to try imo would be lmcf!

yea they do have some similarities lol
Heeeeessss baaaacckckkk
Let’s get Alex to 5k subs he deserves it
APB has a suspicious 🧐amount of S moves cuz no one is good at those . Nice vid
we live in 2023
oh man i finally know what the petrus is
Very underrated channel
Thanks!!
Belt method when...?
Alex, ocll is bad because do you really want to get z perms

How do u make your thumbnails ?
I love the I tried this method for 31 days😊
I always click on your vids with no hesitation
DOMINO REDUCTION FOR A MONTH
It's a pretty interesting variation for Petrus. Problem is ZBLL has a F-K TON OF ALGS.
Nice vid! 😁
Yea ZBLL is a lot lol
also thanks :)
Zbll isn’t that bad…. Ik most of it lol

@@goosedoesvideogames I literally talked about it with Juliette on thecubicle stream and I use them in my solve bro

would have had a better time if you used the S R2 S' insert fir dr
Cool

Can you make a beginner apb tutorial? I need help with the eo step.
You need algs for the eo, watch liam's apb tutorial
I have been thinking about making tutorials (not 100% sure yet). For now, I recommend watching Liam’s APB tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/Qlel9fzaiAM/v-deo.htmlsi=uRQm-B8xf3CbRLAh

Get a Pb wuth the APB method!
Nice vids i know apb is hard to improve cuz i also use it, i am struggling make my first block.Do you have any tips or resources to improve fb
Yea first block is kinda tricky. I recommend watching some examples by Kian Mansour (youtube.com/@Kian_Mansour?si=oh1V6tKs38rQBtvK)

I had learnt only 1 set of zbll (for the U cases) a little before I did month of APB. Probably should have been a little more clear about that.
@@CubingWithAlex Oh, thx for the explanation! You pretend learning full zbll or at least TUL?(u, t and l cases)
How about u create our own method and use it for a month. I think a little of people would love it🤩
That would be fun :)
if you want to improve a lil bit lxs is pretty fast too learn coll helps make you a little faster and thats abt it
Lots of S moves? Where'a brian sun
god damn
great, now try 7 simul on clock for a month :) (or just clock)
Nice but work on your timer stops

Apb is a terrible method it is just a worse version of petrus.
It's not that bad.
I'm considering doing another month of Petrus but with actual Petrus this time. idk it will probably happen sometime in the future.
I wouldn't say worse, but it feels a bit forced, since you learn algs for like every step after fb or 223 for just dividing the cube to few alg steps.
