I have that YR M07 conversion with the same gearing upgrade but built mine from scratch starting with the conversion kit and some of the necessary Tamiya M07R parts I didn’t run the aluminum arms either and spec’d the carbon reinforced plastic Tamiya ones overall seems like a nice upgrade what I don’t like is the exposed gear train I limit the cars use to my local indoor black carpet track. Fits right in along side my Exotek TB05 conversion chassis too 🤣
@@PopalongRC I wish I could say first hand but my previous Tamyia M car was an M01/M02 and they all preform leaps and bounds above that 😂 With the modified gearing it hangs with the equivalent Xpress cars and seems a step above the other tamiya cars (we run blinky and 25.5T otherwise it’s an open class mixed FF,RWD, 4WD) I gave in a while back and picked up a new (now old) Xpress XM1S but I’ve yet to build it, but those were the cars to beat locally when they showed up. Unfortunately our M class has lost a lot of interest unless it’s a big race and non of the other clubs really have any turn out anymore for M class. besides the regular stock and modified TC classes the most popular are VTA & USGT (did I mention I’m in 🇺🇸) and our new Spec TT02 class seems to have a lot of interest majorly of my local tracks are outdoor parking lot
Just sorting out my m08 to hopefully run at Rochester tomorrow night if I can get home from work in time. Not raced minis in years and I only ran the m08 once
Great vids as usual. I'm on holiday at the moment. The place we are has a smart TV do you now pop up as recommended on it. Hopefully the next people who stay here will like what they see and subscribe. 😂
I ran the Factory Pro spur gear upgrade when I had an M07, and boy did it make a difference, it was definitely a lot quicker! Can't wait to see the M07 fully upgraded and to see how well it runs too😉👍
Just getting back in to RC, and wiring up motores And ESCs is daunting for me, how do you know which wire goes where if they're all blue? Is it marked positive, negative and neutral? I feel such a noob asking this, but i am a noob sooo yeh.😂
Do you have any source for Mini Cooper body shells? What I currently find is from alibaba and not matching tamiya quality standards. Any Tamiya reproduction would be great. Old original boxes are super expensive.
isn't it time you got yourself a really good modern RC car , like an 8th scale brushless HoBao Hyper GT rally , or Hyper VT , or a Hyper VS2 buggy 🤔 . The Hyper VT track car racer and Hyper VS2 racing buggy are HoBao's top models , and are worlds apart than them same old TAMIYA'S models 🤔 .
They are on the cards for future projects Mark is currently working on a series for the RC10B7 and Carl is working on a series on the Schumacher ST2 in terms of race contenders. This is a side project we have so much planned it is hard to fit it all in.
Nice collection.
Can't wait to see you race that 6 wheeler! :)
need to get a servo for it and then it is ready to race.
M-chassis RC and BBQ mentions 🔥 nothing like a proper BBQ. Hope to do BBQ & build videos on the channel throughout the winter in my shack 😄
We used to run M03 Mini's on carpet oval and road course. A lot of fun. I still have my three, one is a M03R shelf queen.
I like barbecue food too I used to get into some ovel racing we did that.

Nice
How does it compare to the standard M07 chassis in terms of performance .???

never had a M08 but they run well once set up

Good to know! cant wait myself
Exact same issues I ran into when installing a brushless system in the M07R!
Hope this has fixed it
How much does that cost you? I'd like to see you run an m08.
Hi, maybe you could use a 30mm Radial Fan for the ESC? Cheers
CHEERS BUDDY
I’m trying to work out what would work with this gear set on my M05 btw. Cheers.

Carl, have you got any advise on which pinion (as in number of teeth) you use?

Finding the original shells is almost impossible
@@PopalongRC sure. Any source for sold quality and good fit ones?
L&L models sell one, PHAT bodies also sell one. They aren't up to Tamiyas standards however they are pretty good. Advoid the cheap ones from china.
Just wondering why you are using heat shrink if you are directly soldering connections. Really appreciate the channel!
because cCarl can't solder hahahahaha
@@PopalongRC 😆

I thought you had an M07, but I guess you can't drive the.M 07 , can you in their race?
M07 is too new for the Iconic racing as the M05 has only just been added to the class. M07 is a superior car.
@@PopalongRC I know race a m06.
