“Tell the world, Johnny Depp, tell them, I, Johnny Depp, a man, I am a victim too of domestic violence, and see how many people believe or side with you.” That he did, and not only did almost every single person believe him, but so did the jury. Justice served.

I was literally having this conversation. This was a win for me personally for 13 years abused and gaslighted and made to feel like I was in the wrong or that I was that bad person in the relationship when I responded with violence after I had been slammed in walls. This was a win for me and validation.
An amazing team to take on such a horrible person.

    • @Tenchigumi
      @Tenchigumi 2 роки тому +54

She sorta did suffer the culture's wrath by speaking out. However, it's now proven that what she "spoke" about was lies, so for the most part the wrath is justified. Obviously that wrath should never go as far as death threats and the like, but getting chastised by the world when you say dumb shit is exactly how freedom of speech is supposed to work, and getting sued when you knowingly say false shit to quantifiably hurt someone is how the law is supposed to work. Wrath indeed.

She didn't suffer the culture's wrath rather it was Johnny who suffered. When she first came out with these accusations almost everybody supported her, including the media. Things only changed when the truth began to come out and people could see she was clearly lying. She faced the culture's wrath for lying, for trying to destroy someone's life.

I’m so grateful that this case proves to the world that men are also abused, and by women. The world has never supported men talking about their pain, emotions, etc. The societal toxic masculinity of “Boys don’t cry” has done great damage to generations of men. Millions of men have suffered silently and don’t feel supported enough to seek help for the mental anguish caused by abuse. That hurts my heart. Everyone deserves healing. Healing is necessary for all who are in pain.
This trial proves that men are victims too. And they deserve to be heard & supported. The idea that abusers are always bigger, taller & stronger than the victim is not always true.
I’m sorry you experienced such pain. I am a survivor also, but I am a woman. I can’t imagine my journey to healing if I were male. I don’t know if I would have the confidence to seek a therapist or even just share my story with a friend, if I grew up with the mentality of the toxic masculinity of ‘boys don’t cry’. I hope you find healing, you deserve to find joy & to live without constant pain.
Hope you have a wonderful day. Blessed be.

Watching and hearing what feminists have said and are saying about this has been very eye opening. There were 2 prominent faces of the new wave feminist movement I really respected that I have heard with my own ears laugh and mock Johnny Depp being referred to as a victim of DV. 1 of them went as far to say Depp abusing Heard is very different then Heard (allegedly, her words not mine) abusing Depp.
Shameful. I have lost respect for so many people during this trial, and none of them have been involved in this case directly.

As a Brit, I can say that
    1. It is difficult to prove libel in the U.K.
    2. The judge was heavily criticised after the trial.
    3. The majority of the public believed Jonny Depp after the trial.
    4. The public as a whole felt that Jonny Depp should have won the U.K. trial.

She just took it too far. With being severely beaten in the face with heavy rings and fists but no pictures? Running to the bathroom with blood steaming down her face but never looked in the mirror at herself and again no pictures. Beaten severely in the back and showing up the next day in a backless dress and again no pictures. Just some pics of barely there bruises taken after she realized oh crap I’m being sued I need proof of what I claim. I took a picture of every severe beating. I want to thank Amber for showing that women can be just as abusive as a man. Hopefully by Mr. Depp speaking out about his abuse from his wife, other men will come forward without being shamed and made fun of. It takes courage to come forward. It doesn't matter your gender or your sexual preference. And women who commit DV should be arrested, prosecuted and if found guilty, jailed. Just because it's a woman, doesn't mean she shouldn't be punished. Women want to be treated equally, ok then they need to be held accountable when they commit DV same as a man. I'm a woman and I've witnessed women who lied about being abused by a man and the damage it caused that man. Amber was lucky Johnny never had her arrested for hitting him. IMO I find her unstable, vindictive and dangerous to anyone she has a intimate relationship with unless she receives help.

I agree. To me as a woman, this is a step forward for all abuse victims equally. The pain and humiliation of not being able to speak up abt abuse is as much someone's pain as not being able to defend oneself from gaslighting and false accusation, especially as a public figure. Anyone who sees this as a setback should rid off traditional misconception where women are ALWAYS the victim. Women and men can both equally be victims and people shouldn't be categorized into abuser and abused simply by gender stereotypes just from hearsay (hello Dr Hughes).
I'm grateful that this trial highlights how society has been conditioned to accept things told to us.

Yeah we can speculate. You can say the jury thought he wasn't without blame in all of this and wanted to show that. You can say they wanted to show their lack of bias. You can say they genuinely did not think their friends conspired to call the police (but instead they truly believed her). Or maybe one juror was on the fence and this was a compromise to reach a decision.

I don’t think it’s necessarily inaccurate to announce the $15 mil win for JD, since the $5 mil punitive award is important in understanding the degree to which the jury was unhappy with AH’s actions. Speaking for myself, I know enough to understand that JD was never going to get a $15 million dollar check. It’s useful to know that there’s a cap, but the $5 mil is satisfying, nonetheless.

I hope that Disney will see what they've done in the damage they have done I believe a bunch of lies that were put out by Amber Heard in the media. He has such admiration and appreciation for his staff and it is obvious that he loves his job and gets really excited when the team scores points.
He had a laser like focus on AH whenever she was on the witness stand and if she said something different from what she said on previous occasions or told a lie, he passed information to his staff and let them get on with their individual contributions.

The similarities between Amber and my mom were eerie. Dear God, I pray SOMEONE else gets that child from her. That child is going to be so screwed up from the constant mind games and abuse.
These toxic personality types truly believe that what they say is the truth, yet they can be very manipulative in ways that are blatantly obvious she knows exactly what she's doing. They will justify their behavior, no matter how horrid it is. Amber will play the victim for the rest of her life. She will continue to slander JD for the rest of her life, and will make up new stories about what transpired for years to come. Atleast that's my experience. 35 years later, my mom is STILL making up stories that we've proved to be false. I'm 50 years old....50!... yet she still plays the battered victim because we want to have contact with our dad. He's got his own issues too, but atleast he didn't sleep with a few of my friends.... in high school... like she did.
If you've never had personal experience with these toxic personality types, count your blessings, because they absolutely wreak havoc in the lives of others around them.
Mind you.... some people with Cluster B disorders are not as toxic. It's the ones that are delusional and in denial about their issues that you have to watch out for. 🏃‍♀️ Run!! Run away as fast as you can!
