@arnu93eriks that's the thing with marines. They are inmates on death row or life in jail. They get 2 opions: rot in jail or get executed, or fight for a "good" cause and redeem themselves. The catch is of course that you fight until you die.

nah blizzard actually wanted to adapt WH40K in to a game but the Warhammer team didn't like the path Blizzard was taking so they dropped them. Instead of quitting, Blizzard released their own game, Starcraft.
I've heard some rumors about an upcoming Warcraft movie, but I thought it was supposed to be a live action one. Is it gonna be CGI then? That would be great news indeed.

It should be good - after all, Uwe Boll is not directing it ;-). Live action videogame based movies should be prohibited by law though. I don't want to see any actors, no matter how good they are, pretending to be Sylvanas or Arthas. I want them to be CGI so they look exactly like I remember them from WoW. Same goes for every other videogame movie there is. I'm pretty sure this would make the fans much happier than what we're getting in these days.
Warhammer 40K is from the 80s whereas SC is from as early at '96. There's no doubt Starcraft draws its ideas from 40K, 40K is derived from Doom, Judge Dread and SST. I wouldn't be surprised if the rumor that Blizzard made SC out of the 40K they were supposed to make is true. All in all, 40K has to be the best scifi universe out there in terms of depth and scope. Hell, Google 'The Siege of Vraks'.

to those saying SC is ripped from WH40k: SC is more following the movie 'starship troopers' then WH40k. and even then WH40k is ripping off the book by robert heinlein 'starship troopers' which created the notion of powered armor being pretty much a personal wearable tank. i mean ffs Heinlein's space marine used guns that shot nukes, bolters kinda look pansy compared to that. and even then the most awesome space marine in gaming is the Doom marine,he KILLED HELL. give that man a chapter.
