    A friend got a 55# one. I was pretty amazed at the smoothness of the draw and its very accurate straight out the box. I noticed the higher weight of the riser also as I am use to my Grizzly or Montana or one of my other lighter wt bows. Love my wood bows also but thought this was a nice shooting bow.

    So great to get such a comprehensive review of the bow! You've sold me on it (Even after the win & win comparison, it just seems to be more alive) I had concerns that it might not be that good because of all the Hunger Games hype but you've alleviated my concern! Thanks for a great review!

    Been shooting compounds for a month or so now, got hooked into archery big time. Now looking at getting my first recurve, looking at this model for sure. I love the design of hoyt bows so gonna grab a hoyt for sure. Have a hoyt spyder zt turbo compound on the way, time to grab a hoyt recurve now. Nice shooting mate, and thanks for sharing

    That is a great honest review, I have to say I have found with a lot of Hoyt products that the quality is very poor for the price tag. It's like the risers are paint dipped and not quality controlled for finish.

    I own the Buffalo in blackout, 40” 62” since one year. Since a view month additionally maple limps in 60” and 55#. It’s MY bow. The one and only shooting it at least 15 minutes nearly every day. I have to admit I got inspired form the Hunger Games as lots of people I guess. I love it!
    I regard this bow as great, but maybe little overpriced. Especially here in Europe. The small grip directly under the arrow-rest fits great in your hand and allows instinctive shooting very well. And so far as I know, Fred Eichler did not just give his name - he is shooting it.
    But I can confirm the fear colour could come down from the limps. There are huge quality-differences between the black and the maple limps! Everyone who is deciding between the blackout and the wooden one - take the wooden one. The black limps are just painted, colour will come down over the time. There is no extra protection of the surface for the blackout:
    Colour coating is weak and cannot resist rough handling in nature. In my case the wood have even some voids near the limp fitting area. Very poor quality and not worth the money.
    No comparison to the maple limps. They have very thick and sturdy transparent coating withstanding water and mechanical abuse. You can see the differences even on pictures on the HOYT product presentation on the net.
    I heard rumours that the black limps come from a cheaper production line. Unacceptable. To make thing worse the first delivery comes without string. It took one year (!) to get it from the middle European importer. Unacceptable too. When I ordered additionally limps (blackout in 60” 55#) they delivered the wooden ones… What can I say - I took them without hesitation when I recognised the far better quality.

    Hi Jim, nice video! I have a Hoyt Buffalo that I like a lot. Only thing I still struggling with is to get it less noisy! Have you experience this with it also? I have tried different brace heights and think I found a good one for me but it still to loudly in my opinion. What brace height do you use? Any other tips? I will also try some new cat whistlers and hope they will do the job! Take care, Joachim

    Its confusing, because, on the CD, sent with the Buffalo , Fred comments on the label on the limbs, that the draw weight marked, are for a 25" riser, but the bow has only a 19" riser.

    With the gun laws the way they are in England, I can see how bow hunting could be appealing there. Here in the United States though, we have lots of guns but I still like archery also. Are there any laws in England regarding owning a bow?

      @Tetsuox9 8 років тому

      I know they are but I mean like every time you are done shooting it? Its ok to take it apart and put it away, and the next day put it together. I thought the case was for traveling purposes. I did get a sleeve for the bow so its alright. Was just wondering if it will do it any harm to take it apart everyday.

    • @Tetsuox9
      @Tetsuox9 9 років тому

      Cool. I am saving up for this bow. I am going to get the 40 pound draw weight one. I have been practicing, and strengthening myself with a 40 pound bow so I will be able to handle it. So far it has been going well. I'm already used to the weight of the bow, and can shoot it comfortably.
