authentic Italian presence who lives and loves his culture and cuisine with a passion that only other Italians and Italian-Americans can fully appreciate. descriptions of the food and the importance/significance of certain dishes at holiday celebrations evokes wonderful memories of my childhood. I am very grateful to my great-grandfather, the man whose vision of America lead him here, for his recipes handed down to my Nonna, his 1st born and my Father's Mother, for the way they connect me to the old country. my Dad, who worked for decades as a medical researcher in the field of Chemistry, not coincidently had a palette deeply influenced by the aromas and scents of her home cooking. thank you for letting us hear and feel the voice of Senore Tucci. it blessed my day in ways I cannot put into words.
Hi Katie, Thank you for this conversation with Stanley Tucci. Hearing his struggle with his cancer was so painful to hear, I hope that things get much better for him! I never noticed any adverse reactions to his sampling of food as he traveled through Italy which is a testament to his talent. He’s such a gifted man. My heart goes out to him. Thank you again Katie for all your efforts in the struggle for better healthcare. You’re an angel.😀Cheers, Pat
The honesty regarding your experiences of going through the process of cancer with your loved ones was amazing, and for me , unfortunately relatable. Sadly so many of us have experienced the death of a loved one from cancer, its so scary, so sad, so heart and gut wrenching. I’m so sorry, but I Thank you for your truths.
Thank you for going there on the cancer discussion. I am a retiree who was brought to tears remembering my mother's fight with colon cancer 40+ years ago. It is the club none of us wants to belong to, but sadly so many do. I know it was a difficult discussion, but greatly appreciated. Stanley is magnificent in everything he does and I can't wait for the book!
Bravo..excellent interview, really enjoyed Stanley Tucci, and how you both shared your personal life losses…and the good you are doing to help others.💐🥂
Thank you so much for this very personal interview. His description of his cancer treatment is so eloquent. He put into words that I cannot. I, too, suffered through radiation and am also three years past that nightmare. I will include Stanley and Katie in my prayers for a cure to cancer. Keep up the good work!
Stanley is Super-Human! How many people can go through what he did, persevere through extreme discomfort without giving up and asking for hospice care?! And the result: he can still be with beloved family and friends, his CNN Italian cuisine series entertained and SUSTAINED so many during a pandemic, and we have more opportunities to experience his acting talents in what I hope will be a lot more films to come. Bravo, Signore Tucci! So many love you and now admire you even more.
I went through head and neck cancer treatment when I was thirty seven. This is the first and only time I have heard someone address what I had gone through. Thank you Stanley for sharing. I too had been misdiagnosed for nine months. I too had young children. So this conversation has been very cathartic
Thank you, Katie, Mr tucci, is correct depends on who the insurance underwriter is how much you're contributing to society whether they'll pay for the treatment 🆗‼️‼️‼️
I totally feel the same about what importance Food takes in my family’s and my life in Paris. When you’re a foodie and you lose your taste or smell, it’s devastating. I’m going to buy his book. After what he’s been through, food is even more precious now! Wonderful conversation!
Really enjoyed this whole interview! I don't watch much of anything on TV, but I'll always watch anything Stanley is in🥰. So excited he's filming more in Italy. My husband and I would get a nice bottle of Italian wine and sit and watch his show every Sunday night🍷 Love love loved every episode! Sorry to hear he had that cancer... So grateful he made it through!
Great interview. Loved his book. Now to get his other books. We do need universal health care. Perhaps one day when we have more democrats in the senate to have a clear majority to carry it to completion.
Couric, Good introduction (like antipasto) for the writer, producer, director and model’s then upcoming book: “Taste- My Life Through Food”(Stanley Tucci) published by Gallery Books Oct. 2021. Mr. Tucci has gotten nearly 5 stars on Amazon, and it hasn’t been a week, yet. The book is of the genre of culinary biographies and memoirs and should be informative, e.g. to prepare for cooking at home, a public or private event or anticipating an Italian American restaurant menu. Someone once said, Im not sure weather a professor or book fanatic, that it’s good to read traveling and etc., because reading should take precedence and it’s appropriately convenient than to just ponder some thoughts. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS WHOLE INTERVIEW. Can’t wait to get Stanley’s book! Katie you are amazing love all you do……. especially the relaxed vibe ….just a suggestion have your peeps do something with your lighting so there is not a glare on your glasses. Would love to see you eyes during the whole Internet…. Just a simple fix…. Can’t wait for your next interview……
I can’t eat wheat and gluten-free bread doesn’t hold up well as a “tool” to butter bread. Other than those pesky problems, buttering corn with buttered bread is a great idea.

Stanley wins every time!
This is the premise of hospice.
I don't know Felicity, but for her to put up with Tucci, each day, for extended periods, .....is valiant. (ok, I jest).
Love this man. I can only imagine drinks with the Krasinski's
