It’s old school pad & paper instead of computers it’s a absolute nightmare & they can NOT fill any prescriptions. I no people who left to go to another hospital.
I never thought about needing back up for health history. Out of all my prepping, this never occurred to me. I will correct that immediately! Thank you so, so much for the tip!!
I go to a local clinic and they serve this part of the state. When any bloodwork comes in, they put it up in your account on a website, even though they call you to talk about it also, and you can download it. Unfortunately, I can download it but I don't have a printer that will talk to my old laptop, so I do have to get a bunch of docs on a flash drive and take it down to the Chamber of Commerce office and get it printed if I want a hard copy. Instead, because I go to the nurse practitioner rarely anyway, I just note all results my little checkbook-sized calendar in my purse, so at least I have any results that are borderline or something like low Vitamin D or sugar levels or anything like that. I keep those calendars and can look back over the last handful of years if I need to.
Thanks, MR. My mega network of concern hereabouts is Trinity. It's just a matter of time til that one has major problems. Thanks for the heads-up advice. Much appreciated.
I have *at least* 3 boxes of medical papers. It drives my husband nuts but I tell him that you never know when you might need it. (He's on board with getting ready, btw, he just doesn't like how many papers I save lol)
Ascension is big here in Wisconsin. This needs to be bigger news than it is, but I suspect they don't want to incite a panic over how bad it is, and how bad it's going to get. Have to wonder how the F this happened in the first place. No backups? No security? What the hell were they doing over there that they became susceptible to this? Hmm. Thanking my lucky stars that we opted to go with a different HMO when we moved here.
This doesn't affect me, but thanks for putting the word out there, Modern Refugee! Something like this will probably eventually affect us at some point in the future.
Yep yep yep, always ask for a hard copy of everything! It is your right, they should NOT charge you for a personal copy of anything , maybe anything “additional” but yes, people that are sole reliant on this so-called “cloud” and reliant on corporations that they can safeguard your info…. I have been saying it since I was taught before I was old enough to be out on my own….HARD COPY, DOCUMENTATION, etc… my parents taught me well… growing up in the military….
I have leftover chicken that I’m going to make into curry chicken salad. Pretty much the only difference with yours is you add a little mango chutney and some curry powder. I also add toasted slivered almonds for crunch. Thanks for the info
It's not an easy problem to solve. We were like completely on computers these days and when they fail, there's not always a way to go back to paper and pencil.
exactly the same thing that has been happening in ohio at heritage grain/ honda/ honda suppliers/ scotts/ the local R/R... looks like utube is playing with your subcscribers.

You can always go to the library and pull up your info and print it out. They will help you if you need it.
The worst part is that even if you have your records you still might not be able to receive care if the provider can’t access their computers.

My mother has a surgery scheduled at an Ascension facility in a couple weeks. Hope it gets straightened out soon.
Prayers for you and your family.
Thanks for passing on this information. I appreciate you keeping us informed and up to date on current events.

And imagine what would happen if something semi big happened….

The program is Cerner.
Any health facility that used that was affected.
Oh geez…so glad I’m retired. What a nightmare it’d be working in that hospital……

Very tasty.
I've heard of some using cranberries in chicken salad, but never had it personally.
Thanks❤
Agreed , Modern Refugee
Thank you for an update
This is why you should have copies of health files

Companies always say that it cost too much to add security until they have a breach and then the purse strings are open.
👍👍
wow - that is horrible!

Yes, it’s been a tough year.
