    I've had my Satori for four years now, I've taken advantage of all the available adjustments, customized my wood grip, built and tuned arrows...when it all comes together it's hard to beat.

    Appreciate the video. Bought my Satori a couple years back. Just plain nice! I shoot the satori limbs myself and get great speed from the shorts with my 27.5" DL. Many guys I know seem to be going to the curvier Nika or Uukha limbs for the jump in speed. Might be my next venture as I shoot lower poundage @41-42. Price is on par with the Hoyt limbs. Looking for a bump in speed and performance with no added DW. Shot mine of the shelf for a couple seasons (very nice side plate/shelf setup too) then recently went to the old school NAP flipper rest. solid little flipper and tightened groups up nicely. The Satori is a super platform. Again thanks for taking the time to post.

      A good friend of mine has a 40lb pair of uukha (salenga?) Limbs. I was getting 170ish fps with my arrows and riser with those testing last week. Basically same speed as my hoyt limbs but easier to draw and hold. Not a bad investment I would say. Thanks for watching.

    Nice bow, when the price drops to $200 I’ll buy one. The Sammick Sage I’ve owned forever shoots just as good and they cost $150.

    I agree with you on the arrow tuning - I was always intimidated by it and decided to try it and turned out to be pretty simple, and after my arrows were flying like a dart with no fletching I added fletching and even with broadheads I'm getting the same arrow flight. I'm a 25" draw, with 45lb limbs on 17" riser (so maybe pulling 40-42?) - currently using 26" 600 spine arrows, 25gr insert and 145gr tip. I plan to drop to 500 spine arrows so I can get a longer arrow with more upfront weight in the future.

    I like your vid and really like your confidence to actually get a recurve bow tune some arrows and go kill whatever. Too many guys on the forums keep putting the hunt off and end
    up convincing themselves they are not good enough. Good one bro.

    Newbie here. How has archery ended up so expensive? $80 doz for blemished arrows, $200 for a saw, $1300 for a bow? Hearing this gives me more admiration for stick bows, twig arrows, and stone points.

    • @hooversoutdoors
      @hooversoutdoors  Рік тому +2

      You can get started much cheaper, this is just one of my setups. I have a bow I put together with ilf components for about 250 and it shoots just fine.

      I've been shooting for years, yes recurve can be as expensive as compound, however you can easily get started for couple hundred bucks. I've got a Satori too, but it's my 7th and latest bow.

      A used $80 Samick or Black Hunter $80 Blem arrows and a $15 tab or glove are all you need. A hand saw or dremel cut off wheel works fine. Your first bow should be 35 or 40 lbs to learn proper form so an expensive high pound first bow is a total waste of money and will frustrate you. Without experience you also will not know your passion in bows. I fell in love with custom reflex deflex hybrid long bows 6 years ago but never got rid of my recurve, long or beginner bows because they are still fun to shoot. In fact I have every bow starting with the first Bear I rode my bicycle to get in 1972. There are people like me that would let our treasures go for pennies if we found someone enthusiastic and willing to listen to old stories. 🤠

      New xx75 aluminum shafts around $5.60 each. I cut them with a tube Cutter from Home Depot ($10). Easton 6.5mm Bowhunter $38.99/doz. There are affordable options out there.

    Love it! Great bow and great review! Good shooting! I just bought a 62” W&W black wolf which is very similar to this. Also 40# limbs do 44ish at my draw of 29,5”. I’m also getting 170 ft/sec with a 450gr arrow and 200ft/sec with a 350 grain arrow. What a fantastic sport! Subbed!

    As a former Black Widow owner and shooter they are Great Bows!!! I think you should stick with the Satori for a while. The tuning advancements that have been made on the new riser are far better then any traditional bow currently made. The new Satori has limb tiller adjustments that any wood bow made does not. What length riser and limbs would you recommend?

    • @hooversoutdoors
      @hooversoutdoors  Рік тому

      Hard question it depends on what size bow you want and what you're using it for. I try to stay around 60" because I find it decently forgiving and still maneuverable in a tree stand, so I went with medium limbs on the 17" riser. I'm very happy with mine

    Check out the black hunter bows from hit man archery they have a bow that is a black widow clone, if you are wanting a black widow you might try that andcif you like it then go spend the money for the original black widow.

    I got a 40lb longbow 27inch dl and 500 spine arrows. What total weight would you put up front ?

    • @hooversoutdoors
      @hooversoutdoors  Рік тому

      Decide what weight broadheads you want to run and tune from there. I would try a 100 gr insert and a 125 or 150 gr head. 225-250 up front and then cut down an arrow tuning from there. For hunting .....

    Hey!
    A question on the Satori riser and metal ilf riser in general...
    Would you say, that a metal riser can be dead as a rock in the hand or will a metal riser always have little tiny shock waves vibrating after the shot?
    I tried a lot of things with my satori. But my wooden Takedown bow is totally dead in the hand, my satori has a little wave going through after the release, not in a extreme or loud way. Is that simply the nature of a metal riser?
    Cheers!

    Would love to know your arrow speed, Spine and weight with a long draw and 40 lbs. I'm the oppiset. Short draw 25+ and 49 lbs so I guess we are close to the same. Both 28" 600 with 125 tip and 29" 500 with 145 and weighted inserts work. Went to a heavy High FOC hunting arrow for increased KE. Very frustrated with deer jumping the string however. Never was an issue with a compound and the 30 deer I killed over 25 years. My short draw was never an issue either.
