Same lol. I actually tried the demo for MHW and really wanted to get into it but couldn’t. This demo grabbed me right away a fixed everything that frustrated me in World. So glad I tried this one!
For IG users out there here's a few tips: 1- Arekkz was the one that first showed me that you can stab into the wall in the demo and I played with that more. You can stay on the wall until you decide to move and it cost no stamina, your like a bug there. 2-While on the wall, if you press the run button, you will sheathe your weapon and start wall running until you decide to jump off/making it to the top/run out of stamina 3- You can chain Aerial B and Silkbind vault to traverse the whole map, then Aerial B to a wall to rest until your wire bug charges come back. 4- Back on the wall, if you press b off the wall you can aerial B back to the wall and climb up it that way (sometimes the hit detection messes up and a part you latched onto before might not register. The Silkbinds for IG were badly named, but the utility of the weapon makes it great for flying around the map =D

Everything is so easy. Coming from a guy who didnt play world and only GU I almost lost my shit when you could just search armor by their skills. Every menu is so much easier

Rise is my intro to the series, and my first few hunts, I fainted trying to kill the frilled chicken thing. But with all the bones and Izuchi parts, I’ve got some better armor and weapons now.
The spicy frilled chicken is Aknosom right? his head hitbox is the size of texas when his frills are out, so get as far away from his head as possible when he does the head charge
I'm new to this but I find aknosom to be very easy with insect glaive even in high rank, compared to how kulu ya ku destroyed me in low rank with it's constant charge and object throwing
My first ever monster hunter game...not gunna lie I was a little overwhelmed in the beginning with the amount of tutorials/weapons...but now that my brain is in sync with the loop structure....it is glorious! Endless fun...never rushed...just keep on hunting! So good
The music and everything velar about this game is amazing I haven’t stopped playing. And the fact i can play on the go I’m just very happy with this game

I've never played a Monster Hunter game before either. This game is definitely a lot of fun (though having said that, I have yet to do any quests other than the tutorial and free-roaming the shrine ruins). Because I knew going in that I was going to go for sword & shield, I ended up making quite a bit of money right at the start from selling ammo (enough to afford hiring five palicoes and have money leftover).
@@matthewmuir8884 nice I went with dual blades and hammer to focus on first but I have almost 3 inventories full of stuff don't know what to sell or keep I figure everything is important to craft etc... I'm just hoarding everything
I love kamura so much. All the characters have such incredibly well developed relationships with eachother. You can really feel a genuine sense of companionship between all of them, and so many interesting insights into their relationships really make it feel as if there is history between them. When i get back from a quest, i often check to see if any villagers have new dialogue
Yeah, I especially love that they got a lot more reactive toward you taking your sweet time in the menus. Makes them feel actually alive instead of just looking like glorified quest boards.
That Cohoot being up on that tree was totally something I never knew about so that was really helpful. Appreciate the other info as well, but the Cohoot thing is definitely something I would've missed out on forever if your video didn't explain it. Appreciate it!

Replaying this on PS5 I have found that the Meowcenaries are the best way of keeping track of things. As they return after 5 quests, you can use their return as a check point to check the nest and to check up on training (every other return). Also! The lottery pops when he is having a sale so you don't have to check it each time.
Never played a Monster Hunter game before. Playing Rise was my first and it is really fun!!. At first I was overwhelmed, but with the help of videos from expert players it was great info to know what to do. I also like the Haikus they do for each monster and the Khezu not having background music creeped the hell out of me. Nonetheless, having fun and happy huntings everyone.👍🏿
Definitely enjoying the feeling of learning again in a monster hunter game. I easily spent an hour just learning the weapons, as I never did so in World. I'm going to make it a goal to be able to use nearly any weapon well
I really should try new weapons myself. All I've ever done in GU, World and now Rise is use hammer and hunting horn. Might try to use the Charge Blade.
i love how the series has come to a point where it is very beginner friendly, with rise, i think its very straightforward compared to the older games. Nonetheless i love it so much and its by far the best looking portable game. 10/10.
Speaking as someone brand new to the series, "compared to the older games" is definitely the most important part of that sentence. I still haven't fully gotten used to the combat.

Also congrats with getting on the series, put in some time in the game and you’ll find yourself stuck in amazing game. Combat will get easier as further as you go on because you keep on fighting. Its worth the time investment.
The fun part is... I felt super easy the Village quests so I went into the Arena and Hub... and the difference is huge, so the game is expanding in a way where if you want a challenge you still have it but people who are casual can play the story without feeling frustrated so they stick to the game at least. I know elitists will cry but I liked it, was like 5 minutes to finish a Village Quest and like 20 to finish almost the same but from Hub doing it solo, that is something I liked
@@Lanzetsu yes my friend and thats only high rank difficulty, wait till you hit G rank or now they call it master rank as of in MHW/MHWIB. G rank or M rank elevates the difficulty but all the weapons and armors are powerful too. Thats the endgame grind but the true endgame grind starts when you have think how to make your character look good ^_^
Well, I got the notification for this video nearly a week after it was uploaded, but im glad I did. A couple of these (Like the nest for example) I didn't know of, even after finishing the story/village quests. And speaking of the Kohoot, does it actually ever do anything? Like in World, you can interact with Poogie and build it's trust and eventually, you'd unlock costumes and it would great you after hunts. Does the same thing happen in this game if I keep calling/feeding it?

Overall decent suggestions but two things. The game informs you about sales and lottery right after doing a quest. Same thing with side quests/collectibles from villagers.
Hey, I been watching my friends play and I've watch some UA-cam videos of people using the great sword and I notice that they're not charging the swings right. Idk if it done on purpose or if they're confuse but the charge sequence is red, orange, white (swing) over charge back to orange and it'll swing on it own. For max damage you wanna swing on the white flash. Might wanna let the people know lol.
Hey , im new to Monster Hunter, do you have a video for best start? Like what armor should you get? Is it better to gather one armor set or get different pieces? etc :) Then there is low and high rank and what to sell and what to keep... I like the game, just confused a bit :)
It’s not a big secret, but I learned that lotteries come up every time there’s a sale going on, just look for the palico playing the little instrument next to the merchant.
I'm not the gonna lie, this game is so overwhelming with information and stuff thrown at you from the start, especially if you're a new player, I didn't even know half of these places existed.
This is my first MH and I really didn’t enjoy the first couple hours in game because of the massive info dumps. Now that I’m actually in the loop of playing I’m really into it. Videos like this help fill in gaps I didn’t understand when the game was telling me everything at once.

Yeah; that would be good. I'm brand-new to the game, and I made the mistake of making 2 of the same weapon by forging and upgrading, as I thought that upgrading meant upgrading the one I just made, not upgrading my weapon that was earlier in the tree.
I set an and alarm for 1am GMT then played till around 23:00 yesterday. I would have played more too but I fell asleep sat at the canteen and woke up at 06:00 this morning and just continued playing. 😂
I bought World a long time ago and decided to start with the Kinsect Glaive. After spending 45 minutes solo killing the first mission monster and then beating it in 5 seconds going online with random ppl, I never played it again lol. Now I realize I chose the hardest weapon in the game and didn’t even use the buffing system at all, might have to try Worlds again with a different weapon and see if it’s any better.
I should warn you, the insect glaive might be the second or third most complex. The Hunting Horn and Charge Blade (at first) are even more overwhelming. I recommend trying Hammer. It's not very complex, and it teaches you to look for openings in the monsters attacks without hindering your movement, so you can easily escape if things go south.
can anyone tell me if that first armor set in the vid is Male ONLY ? if so, i need to start over before i get 4,000 hours in and realize i cant have that set lol

Statuses can be applied by endemic life to monsters (such as the Poisontoad? when you drop it it exudes a poisonous gas that will inflict the effect of poison damage on the monster over time (about 10-11 dmg per couple of seconds) ... Flash bombs will blind a monster, making it “blind” so its attacks will be random for about a minute, there is paralysis (the monster will be frozen in place with little lightning bolts running along it for a little bit, stun can be inflicted on monsters (or your hunter when you get hit by attacks too many times in a row) when you hit the head enough times with a blunt weapon (hammers are great for this). This will cause the monster to fall over for a short period of time. You can inflict thunderblight on monsters by picking up a Thunderbeetle? and hitting a monster with it- attacking the monster in this state will cause your weapon to have stun effects. You can also inflict a damage-over-time effect with a Fire? beetle and it will make the monster be on fire for a little bit (attacking it in this state won’t damage your hunter or make you catch on fire.) You can make a monster slow down when you use a Snowbeetle? (white ball beetle) on it for a short period of time. As for the elemental statues that you can have inflicted on you- there are little note cards on them in your hunter’s notes! Other info will be there too. Happy hunting!
Another note: statuses can be applied to monsters when you have enough buildup of attacks with the status effect ... a threshold has to be reached before a monster can be, say, stunned, or paralyzed. It gets harder to apply status effects the more often you use them, meaning the first time has the lowest threshold. (EDIT: I THINK this applies to stun with hammers too, I’m not sure.) Elemental damage will stack on top of base damage and increase damage. It will do more damage if it’s the monster’s elemental weakness.
@@MoroFullmetal so when my dual blades say 15 para, I don't have to activate it in anyway, it does it per default? So not like with bows, where I have to activate the coating?
@@Kelevelin if your dual blades have para, they'll apply it with every strike, building up an invisible meter on the monster. When it's full, the monster is paralysed and the invisible meter resets, and also becomes larger. The more times you paralyse, the harder it becomes to do it again. Basically everything TheLightsWeKeepInside said. Same applies to Stun, Exhaust, and Sleep.

About the cohoot nest, it fills up in the same number of quests as the Meowcenaries, so you can check that everytime you send out a new batch.

In early game; building your Buddy Roster is essential. Grinding the Arena is a good way to get way to get your Palico & Palimute Roster filled out.
When you scout palamutes, what skills and such are you looking for? I've just been grabbing doggos willy-nilly...

Hey, I been watching my friends play and I've watch some UA-cam videos of people using the great sword and I notice that they're not charging the swings right. Idk if it done on purpose or if they're confuse but the charge sequence is red, orange, white (swing) over charge back to orange and it'll swing on it own. For max damage you wanna swing on the white flash. Might wanna let the people know lol.

It’s not a big secret, but I learned that lotteries come up every time there’s a sale going on, just look for the palico playing the little instrument next to the merchant.

I'm not the gonna lie, this game is so overwhelming with information and stuff thrown at you from the start, especially if you're a new player, I didn't even know half of these places existed.
This is my first MH and I really didn’t enjoy the first couple hours in game because of the massive info dumps. Now that I’m actually in the loop of playing I’m really into it.
Videos like this help fill in gaps I didn’t understand when the game was telling me everything at once.

Yeah; that would be good. I'm brand-new to the game, and I made the mistake of making 2 of the same weapon by forging and upgrading, as I thought that upgrading meant upgrading the one I just made, not upgrading my weapon that was earlier in the tree.
It would be dope if they would drop a dlc skin that would turn the dog into a chocobo

I set an and alarm for 1am GMT then played till around 23:00 yesterday. I would have played more too but I fell asleep sat at the canteen and woke up at 06:00 this morning and just continued playing. 😂

I bought World a long time ago and decided to start with the Kinsect Glaive. After spending 45 minutes solo killing the first mission monster and then beating it in 5 seconds going online with random ppl, I never played it again lol. Now I realize I chose the hardest weapon in the game and didn’t even use the buffing system at all, might have to try Worlds again with a different weapon and see if it’s any better.
I should warn you, the insect glaive might be the second or third most complex. The Hunting Horn and Charge Blade (at first) are even more overwhelming.
I recommend trying Hammer. It's not very complex, and it teaches you to look for openings in the monsters attacks without hindering your movement, so you can easily escape if things go south.
i always check the buddy store to get a palico with the specific skills i want. gotten close but not exactly what i want
can anyone tell me if that first armor set in the vid is Male ONLY ? if so, i need to start over before i get 4,000 hours in and realize i cant have that set lol

Statuses can be applied by endemic life to monsters (such as the Poisontoad? when you drop it it exudes a poisonous gas that will inflict the effect of poison damage on the monster over time (about 10-11 dmg per couple of seconds) ... Flash bombs will blind a monster, making it “blind” so its attacks will be random for about a minute, there is paralysis (the monster will be frozen in place with little lightning bolts running along it for a little bit, stun can be inflicted on monsters (or your hunter when you get hit by attacks too many times in a row) when you hit the head enough times with a blunt weapon (hammers are great for this). This will cause the monster to fall over for a short period of time. You can inflict thunderblight on monsters by picking up a Thunderbeetle? and hitting a monster with it- attacking the monster in this state will cause your weapon to have stun effects. You can also inflict a damage-over-time effect with a Fire? beetle and it will make the monster be on fire for a little bit (attacking it in this state won’t damage your hunter or make you catch on fire.) You can make a monster slow down when you use a Snowbeetle? (white ball beetle) on it for a short period of time. As for the elemental statues that you can have inflicted on you- there are little note cards on them in your hunter’s notes! Other info will be there too. Happy hunting!
Another note: statuses can be applied to monsters when you have enough buildup of attacks with the status effect ... a threshold has to be reached before a monster can be, say, stunned, or paralyzed. It gets harder to apply status effects the more often you use them, meaning the first time has the lowest threshold. (EDIT: I THINK this applies to stun with hammers too, I’m not sure.) Elemental damage will stack on top of base damage and increase damage. It will do more damage if it’s the monster’s elemental weakness.
@@MoroFullmetal so when my dual blades say 15 para, I don't have to activate it in anyway, it does it per default? So not like with bows, where I have to activate the coating?
@@Kelevelin if your dual blades have para, they'll apply it with every strike, building up an invisible meter on the monster. When it's full, the monster is paralysed and the invisible meter resets, and also becomes larger. The more times you paralyse, the harder it becomes to do it again.

Same applies to Stun, Exhaust, and Sleep.

You can get to it via one of the exits in the town. Past the Smithy I think.
