I did this last year also, yes the lawn was super green and I did have to cut like twice a week. After watching your videos and following your sound advice I canceled Sunday. Now I really liked thee idea but I really need guidance on what to put down and when. I’m really good at killing my green grass very quickly. I have tried and failed to put down clover killer and killed my front yard. Now I don’t know how to get it back, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This week I am going to rent a tiller and try and start fresh. I think that’s what I need, I really don’t know. Great videos.
I completely agree with you. The one thing I thought though were the bad lawns in my neighborhood. They are full of dandelions and fairly thin, but also have a number of dense green patches where dogs walking by pee. Their major issues are inconsistent mowing, little to zero watering, dandelions, and a true lack of nitrogen as evidenced by the very lush dog pee areas. These neighbors know very little about lawn care and would likely want to do the bare minimum. So when I think about a program like this, I think of it from their perspective or as a program for them. The applications are fairly easy with a hose end, the weeds they are mainly worried about are going to be dandelions otherwise things like thistle they could just pull. Additionally a lot of bad lawns are very nitrogen deficient and if you are a company selling people on improving their lawns, a decent shot of quick release nitrogen would easily convince someone that your program was awesome I do think not including a pre emergent is a huge flaw as crab grass is going to be your biggest enemy aside from dandelions and its an easy way to get ahead of weeds. However for the person who does absolutely nothing, the "something" they are providing with a little bit of guidance somewhat makes sense. I think the tough thing as lawn guys is really to think of lawn care from a non lawn persons perspective who is very unlikely to do the work and research, but want results.
I haven’t used their product but was curious so went through the build a plan thing. 1. They didn’t have much information about my geographic location. I do live out in the sticks so maybe that’s why. 2. They only offers plans that treat up to 33,000 sqft. I need at least 65,000 sqft. 3. The price is kind of high. I will just keep up with using my Deere and a spreader to treat my lawn. Tough area. Sandy soil and lots of pines that inevitably cover the grass in shade or pine needles and stop the grass from getting sun. It’s been 2 years since obtaining this property and it’s getting better. So I will just keep at the regiment I already established on my own.
So i jusut watched this video and saw your comment saying you hate TrueGreen. If you had to choose between Sunday and Truegreen..Which would you choose? I am currently enrolled in Sunday on the lawn and paws tier..My first box was 2 of those nitrogen fertilizers.. just got my second box which included seed resistant to dog pee and another enhancer of dog pee fertilizer..I am kind of confused of when to apply it though cuz that doesnt show in my "plan". I have had Truegreen before and cancelled it because I thought it was too expensive.. I decided to try Sunday because i dont mind applying it myself and thought it was cheaper.. I live close to St Louis.. Really curious to which one you would choose.. TrueGreen or Sunday..
TruGreen. They at least put most of the right stuff down but are expensive. Sunday is expensive and don't even put the right stuff down and make you do it.
Great information but then again. Where can I find information that will show me what to buy when I have no idea. Also what I need when I have dogs and their urine is killing the grass? I think your video is great and very honest. I guess Sunday is easy for someone like me that doesnt know what she is doing but If I can find something or somewhere you can suggest that will help a person that doesnt know how to even start.. Thank you!
I like this as well. There are different tiers. You feel out what you need help with, and they build a plan from that. I live in a brand new built area (in the transition zone), and the first 3 years brand new lawn was beautiful. The last 2 years, the lawn got real ugly. I did the I believe the highest lawn package with weed control reseeding and bug control also safe for pets and children I apply when they have been instructing me too, and my grass is slowly but surely coming back to life
Your early comment that Lawn care was a challenge for you to figure out speaks volumes. And the fact that you are on board with a one track thought train that people should WANT herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides, well, that sealed the deal for me. Try thinking outside the toxic chemical box, or kick rocks.
I did this last year - cancelled, I still use hose end sprayers thru simple solutions and turf titan and some granular with Andersons - I feel like I wasted my money last year…had nothing but a yard full of weeds
@@TheLawnReview quick question on your Greenworks mower - you know the self propel how you can’t back up or have to let it off to turn - anytime I store my upright it seems to get stuck as in won’t push forward til I put batteries in and push self propel…any ideas?

I wish I had before and after pictures of my lawn before and after Sunday. In two months, my lawn looks better than ever, and neighbors have noticed. I think dude likes to hear his own voice.

Don't see the links you mentioned for the lawn schedule.

Yep that’s exactly who they are appealing to but if you don’t have a solid foundation you’ll just feed weeds and never make any progress
I agree with you.
That’s what it’s for.
Learning lawn care can be alot of work for people. And Sunday fills in the gap for people

Sounds like a good plan. Thanks for watching!!

Nice lawn product. Works good and its not a Scam.
You like it? And have used it? Send pics

Grubs? Fungus? A “lawn plan” should include prevention steps, not just blasting the grass with high nitrogen fertilizer.😁
Amen!

Do what?
Doesn’t it seem expensive as well? I have a ton of stuff and not sure I spent $400 this year on it.
Yep I agree
Earthworks for home and screaming green. If you know nothing both will work much better
you're also wrong about pest control. there is literally a tab for customized pest control.
That’s not really the same thing as a “turf” pest. I appreciate your comment though!
Good video.
Any thoughts on using Sunday where fruiting trees have root systems underneath the lawn -- like avocado trees?

Dang sorry to hear that - about what I’d expect

Just because it’s green doesn’t mean it is healthy.
what payroll is this guy on ? Tru Green? hmmm
I actually HATE Tru Green. I’ve made many references to that in past videos. Biggest waste of money ever.
Hey, my comment from yesterday is gone, lol
Hey man! Yeah I saw some issues with the previous video so I took it down and reuploaded with corrections!

For what page?
Very jaded review with little real substance.
I appreciate the feedback. Though I disagree, I’d love to hear what would’ve made it more substantive. Always looking to improve!
