I decided to put in irrigation and top dress with good screened top soil and planted Fireball and Hattrick. I did this in spring and as expected the patch was just looking amazing!! I appear to be losing the battle....!

    I knew we were due for a LawnLife overseeding video!
    How many days/weeks after overseeding and starter fertilizer should a fall nitrogen fertilizer plan start? Could I do 4 weeks after germination until the end of growth or will that damage the young grass plants?

    • @LAWNLIFE
      @LAWNLIFE  Рік тому +1

      It was only a matter of time! Haha. I wouldn't recommend that fall blitz if you overseed. You don't want your established grass to overpower the baby grass. Still give it nitrogen, but not as much as the blitz.

      Ideally I would pre-germinate, but it's just a hassle trying to get the seed to properly come out of the spreader without sticking. So you have to go through the trouble of mixing it with milorganite or other things. Just more stuff that I don't want to do.

      Turned out great. We are in southwest Ohio just North of Cincy. Seed (365 SS Bluegrass) was pre germinated and all was going great until mother nature threw us some much cooler weather last year. This was a baseball youth infield we worked on last fall. So roughly 3,000 sqft or so. Let’s just say Bluegrass is not in any kind of hurry for sure. So after about a month I just used our nail drag to open that canopy back up to get that seed to soil contact. What a difference that made. I will email you over some pics of it for you. Also will keep you updated on our renovation
