I'm Italian🇮🇹 and I live in Tuscany a few km from Florence and I had a Sardinian girlfriend. the reality that in Sardinia as in Tuscany they eat an exaggeration of meat in Tuscany they eat raw meat tartare e carpaccio, and in Sardinia in particular raw dairy products of all types, there is a cheese called Casu marzu which from fermentation has worms inside it. in Sardinia the carbohydrates they eat are few... Goatis tells the truth about Sardinia.

That's interesting. I've lived in Italy since September and the first month I was in Buti, Toscana. Since then I've been traveling and living at tons of different places all across Italy, traveled around all of Sicily. Haven't really gotten to experience much of Italy's food culture cause I almost never eat at restaurants. Have tried pizza at a couple of places, the best pizza in the world in my opinion is Sicilian volcano pizza.
Even do I lived in Italy for so long (and have been to Rome and Sicily a couple of years ago) I literally don't speak or understand any Italian.

@@zyklon_music My mom is with me in Italy, she's been here for way longer than I have, her Italian is very good. I mostly only have to speak to cashiers and it's usually not a problem since usually they understand English.
I have a problem where I have a very hard time trying to learn new stuff (or invest time on it) if I don't get deeply invested in it. Hence why even do I have wanted to learn Italian I haven't bothered.

I'm not sure if it was the same thing, but there's a thing called "the great migration" where MILLIONS of animals migrate across Africa. There are that many animals, you can see them from fuckin space (literally not joking). This is with deforestation and everything else. Imagine just 10,000 years ago, when there were only like 20 thousand people and no cities, villages etc etc etc etc....Animals would be absolutely fuckin everywhere.

Obesity stems from the fact that humans are fed carbs+veg/seed oils, and not just carbs. Both compounds must be consumed to have diabetes symptoms, alas the inability of the body to keep in check the amount of sugar in the blood. Due to consumption of veg/seed oils, no matter how much insulin gets produced, our kidneys are not capable of properly filter the blood due to nature of veg/seed oils, since they literally create crystallized formations inside the kidneys. I have discovered this the hard way sadly.

@GoatisReviews good, I look forward to it. I'll give you an example of what he says in this book.
"I have mentioned the dangers of excessive intake of animal protien earlier, but now it's time to really start culling the process. Two recent human studies have hammered the final nail in the animal protien coffin, a fact already established in animal studies. Both studies conclude that meat consumption contributes to the current epidemic of obesity as much as, if not more, that our staggeringly high consumption of sugar does. Yes, you read that correctly. Eating meat makes you as fat as eating sugar does!"
He also claims eating red meat causes heart disease and cancer.
      Another claim he makes:
"Eating animal protein is not necessary for good health and that completely avoiding animal protein produces the greatest longevity.... If you are still thinking you can't do without lots of burgers, Chops, and steaks consider this: The risk of developing alzheimers correlates directly with the amount of meat consumed."
      Another claim:
"A Word of advice to any paleo and ketogenic followers who believe that saturated fats are good for you: a recent study shows that saturated fats such as Lard increase hunger and appetite by delivering lipopolysaccharides to the brains hunger center; by contrast fish oil does the exact opposite, actually sending signals to the brain that help you moderate your food Intake!"
It should be noted that he works for Loma Linda University, which is run by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, meaning he's politically and religiously motivated, not science motivated.

The only problem now is that they are sold seed oils and they have no idea how bad they are... sad corporations even getting to blue zones... but outside of the cities in Costa Rica, they use lard to cook a lot of the food.

My Granny Mitsuko ate vegetables during wartime, so, there's that. Oh, and they eat turtles, but it was a delicacy, and might have been family tradition. When modern western culture came into play, they got fat and diabetic. This happened to my family.

Excess amino acids get converted into glucose, ketone bodies and after that get excreted through urine (urea cycle). From an ATP (energy) standpoint, this is suboptimal. Do you disagree?
