Given the rains we have had this year, forget off roads this is so needed for the urban on holes( i meant on road) Personally i would just like to know if we will find after market speakers for the roof mounted/ hung? Speakers system. (P.s. doesn't the rear of the four seater version look like a great place to make out? )
Tushar your reviewing style, language and information is just fantastic. Rohan from PD and Kartikeya Singhee have always been my favourite and now it's you. Keep up the good work!
i owned the Mahindra Scorpio 2.6 CRDe for 7 years - 2007 till 2014. i was the only one who drove it and I logged over 150,000 kms in these 7 years both in the city (Calcutta) with regular drives to Haldia, Paradip, Vizag and Chennai. i've often had foreign visitors asking me "what make" this car was and i always felt an overwhelming sense of pride telling them that this Mahindra was an INDIAN car - thought of, blue-printed, conceptualized, and MADE IN INDIA. Korean, Japanese, Chinese visitors were left flabbergasted at the time that THAT was an INDIAN car. i feel the same sense of pride and DESIRE knowing that the new Thar 2020 is just round the corner. i think it's time, once again, "TO PLAY". thank you Mr. Anand Mahindra, for your and your Teams' efforts and belief in the Indian Spirit. the Game Changer, is here, again.
Mahindra Thar 2020 has managed to generate a whole lot of buzz since it was first unveiled on August 15. Now while the Thar has always been renowned for how it manages to make a mockery of any on-road and off-road challenge, it wasn't much on counts of cabin space and comfort. Mahindra has sought to change all of that as it looks to make Thar 2020 appeal to a wider set of audience instead of being a very capable niche player in the Indian automobile market.
The best of best review on THAR. The way this GUY ( background voice) presented is excellent. Well explained the features. Great camera work too. Kudos to Team...
Am not convincing my family.... Am just selling my swift to own this loveable beast who has captured my youtube completely since I saw the freedom drive. There's nothing as much seen as videos of new Mahindra Thar on my phone. Am crazily in love with this one.... I just hope the price is fair enough to not to scatter my dream of owning this one.
A quick question: The DRLs in most of the review videos blink like a police siren.... however I couldn't see that feature when I took a test drive.... it was always ON in the test drive vehicle and not blinking like shown in this video..... how do we make it blink like that?
The biggest hurdle am facing in convincing my otherwise supportive family is the approach to the rear row of seats and that so stupid wheel arch hump that makes it so uncomfortable for 3 people to fit in the rear row. I really wish Mahindra engineers had put in some more effort into fixing these flaws. Hopefully the next interaction or version fixes this😔
🔥🔥🔥From an off-roader with less comfort to a premium Vehicle with awesome Off-roading capability! #Thar has come a long way! October 2 is the most anticipated day for petrolheads🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like what you say about the normal average man getting himself a nice Off Road Utility vehicle with some very decent comforts which can manage normal family needs as well. Yes, I think Mahindra has hit a 6 with this. For sure.
Having had two Jeeps, the new thar looks promising. If different states can open up historic trails or develop beaches for responsible off road drives.. this segment will evolve. Otherwise this segment will end up more like mall crawlers. The thar has taken the progression of jeeps in the United States that used to be nimble and low on creature comforts but now have all the bells and whistles to appeal to urban folks for whom the ability to go off road is enough. Most will never see an off road for real.
If Mahindra would have increased length and re-design the rear wheel bump in the cabin and placed proper rear seat for seating 2/3 persons comfortably it would have delighted more family people and also increase more boot space
The lack of boot space is not even being mentioned here. Its even difficult to pack stuff for a weekend getaway for 2 people, let alone 4. I would prefer the Duster 4 x 4.
Any idea when the AWD Duster will be launched as it will be more practical . Renault should have launched the Duster AWD now in the turbo petrol at least as an option
Very true and being an indian product mahindra and tata should price their vehicles lower to their abroad competitors . No doubt they have improved alot but they are still way behind till now. Matter of fact being an indian i would love indian companies to get better but they should firstly offer us a vehicle worth its price too.

I don’t want to be a beta tester for them. If priced well with little to no niggles, this could set the sales charts on fire. Great review, keep it up. Cheers
Just a Block buster out of the box, we have a winner just before its arrival. Please take couple of things in consideration, rear passenger area should be even better finish specially of side walls feels incomplete with fabric, could have been better to see a nice cup holder or plastic finish. A reversing cam if you are making this as a lifestyle car , and a front seat arm rest could just suffice with no after market work needed, may be a half way down rear passenger window should help if some one still feel claustrophobic .

It's should be called an off - roader instead of an suv . Thats what enthusiasts call such vehicles.

@Prasanna s fyi brother...A SUV/The SUV or an SUV... You'd write “an SUV” because SUV is pronounced one letter at a time and the sound of S is “ess.”
