This video seems to be a total paid promotion of thar roxx. There are many flaws in thar roxx but none of it is shown like the below: 1. Less gap between pedals which will make it difficult to drive. 2. Second row seat window glass is very small and instead of 5 seater it is only a 4 seater like thar 3 door as 5 full adults will find it difficult to sit. 3. Thar roxx is as bouncy as ever as tyre size has increased just to increase the ground clearance. 4. White color seat is used just to show that there is ample amount of space but in reality space is only adequate just like 2nd row of Gurkha. 5. High speed stability is also not that great of thar roxx even air comes in. 6. Touchscreen infotainment system also have same type of lag that other mahindra vehicles have which in future will be visible. 7. No practical space in the car even the glove box is very small. 8. Sunroof starting point is too far for front passengers.

Rox is like a lifestyle vehicle nowadays but Gurkha is live from the heart. Gurkha allows you to drive her but then Thar Roxx drives you 😊. Both have different natures now.
Mercedes should give the G63 design rights to Force and allow them to make some design changes, (material, structural changes to keep the cost in mind)similar to what Mahindra did with the Thar Roxx compared to the OG Wrangler. If Force can also improve the interiors, after-sales service, and reach, the vehicle could sell well in numbers. This way, we could get a G63-like design at a much cheaper price..

Seriously, i feel cars nowadays are unnecessarily complicated. Electronic Parking Brake, i feel confident and satisfied when pulling the manual lever of the handbrake, and how strong i want the handbrake to be The 4WD switch, i love those regulator type switches like the ones in older Scorpios(the switch in the Force Gurkha looks surprisingly similar) ADAS, its like FSD in tesla, mostly pointless in our roads, some of the most important roads under NHAI dont even have proper white lines, where will lane keep assist work? AEB is probably the one feature that is useful. Everycar must have Automatic Low beam function, drivers nowadays have no clue, they just drive at high beam always. LED headlights, pain during heavy rain, try halogen or fog lights and you can see the real difference. Infotainment systems, miss the days when you could throw whatever head unit whenever you want, now many functions of the car are integrated into the OEM system. Sunroof, seriously? I feel it's just a show off, i see kids on roof, i can only imagine how distracting it is to others inside the car, especially the driver Correct me if I am wrong guys!
All things are true but in the cars that don't have hill hold controls, specially in petrol cars when you are on a very steep slope and there is a delay in clutch action and brake and accelerator level application, handbrakes feel insufficient. I guess electric parking brakes will hold strongly but not much sure.
@@green_life7hill hold is a good feature, but if you are gonna use brakes to start from an incline, the handbrake still works, in E brake, you can't adjust the strength, whereas in a traditional lever type handbrake you can slowly release it
Since these are mandatory in Western countries, they have to be in India at some point even tho it's not practical considering the road conditions in India.
A week ago I unexpectedly saw a 3 door gurkha standing side by on an empety road..... The size and the road presence of that gurkha was ultimate man...trust me..if 3 door one is a monster than 5 door will be a blast..
Force is not into family cars, they had created their own segments, traveller, urbania and Gurkha are different breed of vehicles not meant to appeal masses.
You have to understand that Gurkha is for niche category of people who like old school mixed with ruggedness like myself. I have seltos which is highly feature loaded most of the function is useless in real time. I choose Gurkha any day.

We need proper aftermarket lift kits for the Gurkha. The Thar ROXX will have lift kits from Dr.Nano, MMG and from other designers. It's also necessary for important aftermarket upgrades to be available for the Gurkha.

Stop posting misleading comments buddy. The Gross weight of Gurkha 5 door is 3.1 Tons, not the Kerb weight. The kerb weight is around 2500-2600 kgs while the kerb weight of Thar Roxx is NOT 1700 kgs. Even the 3 door Thar weighs that much. Kerb weight has nothing to do with Built Quality. The Gurkha uses a modified bodyshell of the Trax Cruiser, it's basically like a heavy tinbox on wheels with 0 structural rigidity. The quality of materials while in Thar is not extraordinary, in Gurkha, its pathetic. Huge panel gaps, cheap materials etc.
We get it but the thing is, the weight of this vehicle is Force's own fault, lack of weight management. It is literally as heavy as the Gwagon itself which is much wider than the Gurkha and also longer, with much more sophisticated tech and electronics components inside with much bigger 6-8 cylinder engine. It has NO reason to weigh this much with it's old school Trax cruiser bodyshell, flimsy interior plastic panels and barely any electronic components inside unless they literally built it on a heavy duty pickup truck chassis (which they probably did). The even bigger problem is they only have 1 single engine in their inventory which they use for every model they have, from their commercial lightweight pickup truck to a literal 50 seater bus.

Space- Space for passengers in Roxx is far superior especially for leg and knee room in Roxx, the Gurkha only excels in headroom. Practicality- While the Gurkha is a 7 seater which should be more practical, the poor space management and lack of adjustability for the seats makes it comparatively impractical for storage and for passengers seating compared to Thar, Thar also has more storage compartments. Engine- The Gurkha's engine is tuned like a commercial engine, its low end is pretty great but other than that, it's not adequate for its heavy 2.5+ ton kerb weight. Roxx's engines, both petrol and diesel are far superior interms of refinement, smoothness, performance and even milege (for diesel). Yes it's a Mercedes engine, a 40 yearold one. Safety- no comparisons, the Thar is equipped far better in terms of safety and is also structurally safer than the Commercial trax based Gurkha with oldschool bodyshell. Offroad- Gurkha clearly excels here with the more rugged suspension set up, the mechanical lockers and the more sophisticated offroad accessories. The Thar literally has a White interior meaning Mahindra expects less offroad enthusiasts to buy Roxx. Though both vehicles could do with better articulation. Comfort and tech- Absolutely no comparison. The Gurkha is like a truck while the Roxx is like a luxury suv in comparison. Imo, unless you badly want a more rugged offroader, it's better to spend your money wisely and get the Thar since its 4x4 model is quite capable enough. The problem with Gurkha is not its lack of features, safety or performance but price. Its too overpriced and cheap for what it offers. And as far as offroading is concerned, you can get the Jimny lift it and get offroad tyres and it is already more capable than tha Gurkha with better articulation and much more controlled weight. The Gurkha 5 door literally weighs as much as the Gwagon.

Verdict: Not everyday car That ROXX: Pros * It's Mahindra, more reliable than Force. * Quality looks more premium * Has feature loaded with brim. Cons: * C pillar and roof design is widely criticised as not appealing. * Rear 2 door is small. Verdict: not appealing as 3 door thar. ( To maintain sub 4300mm mark of this Thar ROXX, Mahindra didn't extend length and wheelbase further beyond this. Resulting in, small 2 rear door and ugly C pillar. Primarily, it was designed to compete with Jimny. But even without competition Jimny was not popular in India. So, even if Mahindra extended Wheelbase and Length of Thar further upto 4450mm albeit at extra 2 lakhs, it would have been still popular among Indians. Because, Thar has cult following. So, for the shake of competing with Jimny, Mahindra lost diamond!
The camera does stay on for few seconds even in the audis. That’s a safety feature in case if you want to ensure that the rear side has been clear and that you’re good to go. It’s not a glitch.
I have a strong inclination to engage in off-road activities and spend weekends with my family; this is my primary interest. Should I consider the rather perplexing Roxx MS5 or the Gurkha 5-door? What is your opinion?

Even though i absolutely love Mahindra for the r&d they r doing they r just destroying the brand thar which is supposed to be a hardcore off-roader its sad to see a carike thar with rwd where the sole purpose of the car is forgotten that is offroading and the chapris in no time is gonna Destroy the brand whereas brands like gurkha and hilux will never loose their originality as they r clear who their audience are and they definitely dont search for a tablet or a useless sunroof in their car

Space- Space for passengers in Roxx is far superior especially for leg and knee room in Roxx, the Gurkha only excels in headroom.
Practicality- While the Gurkha is a 7 seater which should be more practical, the poor space management and lack of adjustability for the seats makes it comparatively impractical for storage and for passengers seating compared to Thar, Thar also has more storage compartments.
Engine- The Gurkha's engine is tuned like a commercial engine, its low end is pretty great but other than that, it's not adequate for its heavy 2.5+ ton kerb weight. Roxx's engines, both petrol and diesel are far superior interms of refinement, smoothness, performance and even milege (for diesel). Yes it's a Mercedes engine, a 40 yearold one.
Safety- no comparisons, the Thar is equipped far better in terms of safety and is also structurally safer than the Commercial trax based Gurkha with oldschool bodyshell.
Offroad- Gurkha clearly excels here with the more rugged suspension set up, the mechanical lockers and the more sophisticated offroad accessories. The Thar literally has a White interior meaning Mahindra expects less offroad enthusiasts to buy Roxx. Though both vehicles could do with better articulation.
Comfort and tech- Absolutely no comparison. The Gurkha is like a truck while the Roxx is like a luxury suv in comparison.
Imo, unless you badly want a more rugged offroader, it's better to spend your money wisely and get the Thar since its 4x4 model is quite capable enough. The problem with Gurkha is not its lack of features, safety or performance but price. Its too overpriced and cheap for what it offers.
And as far as offroading is concerned, you can get the Jimny lift it and get offroad tyres and it is already more capable than tha Gurkha with better articulation and much more controlled weight. The Gurkha 5 door literally weighs as much as the Gwagon.

* Impressive road presence

Cons:
* Interior quality is average, at 18L price range
* Gearbox issues
* Outdated design in some parts.
* Lacks steering control.
Verdict: Not everyday car
That ROXX: Pros
* It's Mahindra, more reliable than Force.
* Quality looks more premium
* Has feature loaded with brim.
Cons:
* C pillar and roof design is widely criticised as not appealing.
* Rear 2 door is small.
Verdict: not appealing as 3 door thar.
( To maintain sub 4300mm mark of this Thar ROXX, Mahindra didn't extend length and wheelbase further beyond this. Resulting in, small 2 rear door and ugly C pillar. Primarily, it was designed to compete with Jimny. But even without competition Jimny was not popular in India. So, even if Mahindra extended Wheelbase and Length of Thar further upto 4450mm albeit at extra 2 lakhs, it would have been still popular among Indians. Because, Thar has cult following. So, for the shake of competing with Jimny, Mahindra lost diamond!
