Eren knew he was talking to his grandpa because he saw Grisha's memory. Still he gave emotional trauma to him. Eren is also using Falco to do his work. The angry kid Eren is now gone. It's now this cold calculated Eren whose thoughts and actions are unpredictable.
Angry kid Eren was never a thing...season 2 showed that he is a critical thinker but imagine all of your friends that you been through life and death with caused the hell you live in. Plus he was only 15

Magath and Willy's conversations were probably the most important in this ep and most people miss or don't understand some of the stuff they're talking about.
It wasn’t THAT important. Episode 5 will be important
I did say "in this ep". Likewise if you don't read or listen properly when watching this ep you miss out on details that build the present world they're in and the inequalities and injustices in their society as well as set a precedence for future events. Episode 5 mostly confirms the past and a bit of personal probing into some characters. Both are necessary as throughout part 1, the point is to show the parallels in both societies.

Exactly, Magath found out that the enemy is already inside ("the house is infested with rats"), he also thinks most of the Marleyan generals/officers are useless so he's planning to rebuild the army ("large scale demolition") or "serve" them to the enemy, and Willy agrees with this. Willy "gives" the Marleyan army to Magath, but he responds that the army belongs to the nation and the true leader of the nation is Willy himself. Willy points out that despite his family controlling Marley from the shadows, he's just "holding" the wheel, and that he had the bad luck, to be the one who will be targeted by the enemy (for the warhammer titan), yes.. both already know the enemy will attack during the presentation.

Episode 5 is like the hype of that post-credits scene but for an ENTIRE EPISODE. It's one of the best eps of the show.

i felt the same way as you guys about how seeing a completely new story, location and characters is bittersweet because it’s adding to the plot and it’s still interesting, but at the same time we spent 3 seasons with the scouts on paradis island so not having that at this point evokes a weird feeling :’) i also don’t know how you guys have the restraint to not click next episode immediately it’s hella impressive
