That ending shot of Levi with Porco saying “they’re the devils of Paradis” is one of my favorite moments of the whole show. No idea why but it gets me so amped lol
its amazing seeing their prejudices working against them. They refer to them as devils so facing them in combat is legitimately terrifying because the warriors truly believe that the eldians of paradise are evil incarnate and while it gives you resolve to go against an enemy by vilifying them, they have also kindve mystified them in a sense. As badass as we see our characters, the people of the world see them as even more threatening
That scene is weirdly satisfying. The scouts had paid such a heavy price for their titan killing skills and they'd never been praised for that even among their own people. Yet here the fear and disbelief of the enemy kinda give credit to their skills and courage and I'm just happy to see them getting recognized.

At this point in the season the show just makes you feel the weight of every action done by the characters. The moment Eren decided to confront Reiner there was no turning back to the previous AoT.
Look how much Jean and Eren have diverged from each other. Jean chastising Floch for civilian casualty, and Eren with that dead look in his eyes when Mikasa is in tears over his killing innocent people. Heart breaking.
One thing I really like about this season is the music and the disparity between the music of Eldia and Marley. They actually brought on a different composer to do the Marlyean music, as the shows shifts perspective to them, then ofc they have the OG composer to do all the Devils of Paradis music that we’ve heard throughout s1-3
As much as I love EVERYTHING about this episode, one UNDER RATED thing in this episode is seeing Pieck get so scared once she sees the scouts arrive. Since Pieck is aware of the SCOUTS AWESOMENESS from RTS Arc. She definitely had to warn Porco about how dangerous the scouts are 💯 🔥
This episode illustrates the genius of Isayama's writing. S1 E1 and this episode are essentially the same tragedy with the victims is S1 being the Eldians in Paradis Island and the victims in this episode being the Eldians in Marley. And yet, because you have followed the Eldians on Paradis Island for so long and consider yourself to be on their side, you justify Eren's massacre using the previous massacre he experienced. Isayama's point is that both of these events are cruel, horrible, and tragic, but that because it is human nature to attach yourself to a group, your view of the world becomes biased and you see the massacre inflicted on "your people" as cruel but the massacre you inflict on the other side as justified.

Actually, this happened in the Liberio Internment Zone where Eldian civilians live, not a war territory. And the Scouts were definitely not JUST killing soliders. The festival was full of both higher-ups, world leaders AND normal people. Mikasa told Eren that he had killed civilians and even children, and Jean had to remind Floch to keep the civilian casualties to minimal. You are being more lenient with the Scouts and giving them excuses after excuses ONLY because you've had attachment to them, which is exactly what the author intended to call out: that people are biased and tend to turn a blind eye to the war crimes and atrocities done by the ones we love.
Indeed. I'm sure if we started off with Reiner and gang we'd be biased in favour of them instead. It's a good way of calling out human hypocrisy, but we have to understand that fundamentally we're evolved as a tribal species and so it's only natural for most to root for their own "tribe" so to speak.

Marley is their own undoing - because of the creation of Paradis, and them continuing to send titans there, they indirectly created an entire nation that made it their business to kill titans. They thought they were so superior, but as soon as the scouts made it to Marley, the roles were reversed. I love the fact that the people who have been to Paradis immediately get scared - Pieck didn't even know they brought titans, she just saw a glimpse of someone in ODM gear and immediately went into panic mode.
Levi's ODM gear is still the new version. If you notice, the sheaths of his blades are flush against his thighs and didn't extend all the way back like the old bulky gear. He's just wearing the bare minimum by having no armor, having one gear around his waist (unlike the double barrel gear of waist + back of Mikasa), and by just using strictly blades with no thunder spears. But even the blade handles are compatible with thunder spears...he just opted not to carry any.
In contrast, Levi wasn't actually meant to step up and his role is just to cut Zeke's ass and get him out of his titan form. I mean, you can't use thunder to Zeke since it wouldn't go on the plan, regardless, him interrupting Porco's entrance (since Porco appearing quite ruined their plan and is expect the unexpected moment) just show how much he have so much experienced compared to others in the battle field even when Mikasa was off guard. + Oh! Also forgot that Mikasa switched to blades too to cut Porco's legs. Too bad, Porco is extremely skilled too but him facing Ackermans is just different lol.

The "large-scale demolition" referred to in 4x4 is to kill the upper part of the Marley Army using enemy attacks. Marley Army easily won the war thanks to the power of the titan. In other words, however, they lost their competitiveness. Perhaps Margath is the highest now, so in 4×4, Tyber said to him, "Congratulations, Marshal(not commander). The army is yours to command."
yeah the 4x4 conversation is full of code and double meaning, they basically explain that they expect an attack, have infiltrators, and are planning to use all of this to their advantage to do the restructuring necessary to prepare Marley for the fight with Paradis Island.
Marley's also a military dictatorship which means a lot of high ranking military officers are really just career politicians and suckups, not tacticians, which is another reason why so many of them were incompetent when it came to war. It wasn't a problem while titans won every battle for them, but times change.

That ending when the Jaw Titan says "You're kidding! Can't you see I'm a Titan?! These guys are just humans, yet they're coming to kill me?!" He is so used to be dominant for being a titan; so used to see humans in fear dealing with the Warriors throughout the years, that he has no idea that the same humans can put up a fight with him. He also has no idea how much they suffered because of the titans sent by Marley, or because of what the Warriors did in the past. That scene is so beautiful when you think how far the scouts have gone fighting against all titans. They used to be so scared; tremble to the sight of any titan, and now they can face any of them straight up.
"Can't you see i am a Titan? These guys are just humans, yet they're coming to kill me?" Damn, i love that scene. Really shows how much Marley underestimate Paradise Devils, even though they got wrecked first time they tried to attack. Also it shows how inexperience Enemy titans are, even thought they were fighting in wars. But that's like war against ant's. Marley Titans fight wars at easy mode, while Paradise fight at hard mode. Anyway, i bet you gonna love next episode

I was waiting for this! xD The War Hammer Titan took me by surprise. Heavy FMA vibes in terms of her abilities. The 'Transmutation Titan'! The Scouts intros were top notch. Goosebumps. You can see how torn Mikasa was. They went through that as kids with the fall of Wall Maria, it's the last thing she would have wanted.

That ending when the Jaw Titan says "You're kidding! Can't you see I'm a Titan?! These guys are just humans, yet they're coming to kill me?!" He is so used to be dominant for being a titan; so used to see humans in fear dealing with the Warriors throughout the years, that he has no idea that the same humans can put up a fight with him. He also has no idea how much they suffered because of the titans sent by Marley, or because of what the Warriors did in the past. That scene is so beautiful when you think how far the scouts have gone fighting against all titans. They used to be so scared; tremble to the sight of any titan, and now they can face any of them straight up.
So happy to be able to enjoy the final season 2 with you all this winter!

Also it shows how inexperience Enemy titans are, even thought they were fighting in wars. But that's like war against ant's. Marley Titans fight wars at easy mode, while Paradise fight at hard mode.
Anyway, i bet you gonna love next episode

That's something that many people always forget. Eren didn't declare war Marley did and he isn't the bad guy for attacking in a war he didn't even started.
Tho I don't think that was ever the problem. Rather the problem was that after war was declared, the first act of war he did was bomb the twin towers.

@@enju3588 Eren knew the world would never accept Eldians, and took action when the world took action against them. The rest of the scouts couldn't accept this reality (Hange, Armin) hence the inaction that forced Eren's hand.
