Authorities reported that before officers were able to neutralize the threat, the shooter claimed the lives of three children and three adults. The incident has left the Covenant School community and the city of Nashville grappling with the aftermath of this devastating act of violence. As investigations continue, the bodycam footage serves as a critical piece of evidence in understanding the events that transpired during the shooting and the response of the police officers on the scene.

I respect these cops more than those cowards in Uvadle that just stood around and did absolutely nothing.
Night and day. Uvadle still smells fishy.
This! 💯
@jonathantaylor6926 not just fishy it glowes bright
💯💯💯
Because no police embarrassment in this case is why they released the bodycam footage immediately.
These cops were amazing and put so many others to shame. They need to be promoted and given the opportunity to train others in their ways.
Thats how you clear a school in under 4 minutes. Bravo to these law enforcement officers.
I don't care how ad nauseam this is said. *Uvalde PD, TAKE NOTES!!!!*
I’m sure Uvalde was fresh in the memory too!!
Law and Crime had no problem showing the blurred image of a victim on the floor but REFUSED to show the killer's blurred body and edited it to protect "her." Ridiculous. The takedown of the suspect is available elsewhere.
Teachers are amazing as well preparing the kids for shelter in place emergencies. ❤💙
This officer entered the building one minute after parking his car. After 4 min of searching rooms one by one, he found and neutralized the shooter. The Uvalde cops waited over an hour to engage the shooter
I guess they were not authorized to engage further
@@mausexx2459 "I'd rather listen to children be murdered for an hour with a loaded gun in my hand than disobey orders" is a take
The Uvalde shooter wasn't firing when the police arrived. Everyone who died was shot within the first five minutes.
The fact that these officers had to step over dead bodies to eliminate the shooter was nothing but the equivalent to war. This world is terrifying now, but these officers were amazing.
Can we just appreciate how calm Officer Rex Engelbert arrived at such a horrific scene of crime? Just told the teacher outside "Okay" and "Yes ma'am" as calm as it gets. This man seriously did a tremendous job from his arrival to the end.
You can tell he was terrified but ready to handle the situation courageously
👍👍👍
He was an absolute pro and mvp of the takedown
The teacher did a great job also telling him which level of the building, etc. calmly.
That man is what law enforcement should represent
To the officers who did not hesitate putting fear aside and duty to the forefront, I salute you one and all.
Couldnt say it better
we need more officers like them
he opened the door wrong first like wtf
They have been waiting for a day like that. Bored sitting in the car eating donuts and drinking coffee.
Yes, thank you guys 😊
All the respect in the world to these Officers. Saddest part of this video is at 4:52 when you can see one of the fallen in the hallway. You can just feel the Officers wanting to stop and help but needing to push on and neutralize the threat. These Officers did an amazing job.
10000%
Ugh. I saw that. So did they without blur. That are having a bad month no matter how good they did.
Terrible.
That moment gives me goosebumps... The cops are true heroes...
O man that's awful
That girl on the floor is Evelyn Dieckhaus. The 9 year old who died pulling the alarm that saved the whole school from more casualties.
The way he unzipped that rifle bag, then the way he said “ok…yes ma’am”, you already knew he ain’t playing.
Facts
No plan, no extra protection, no hesitation; all bravery and courage
Their plan was put in place some time ago through training. Departments train for active shooter and school shooter situations. The difference with Nashville PD is there was zero hesitation and a serious urgency to take out the threat.
It was crazy. I had adrenaline just watching. These cops are incredible.
It was playing and obvious that they did have a plan.
No plan, no extra protection sounds like the unprotected schools
I agree with others, you train so when things happen that aren't in the plan, you can overcome. As they said in the US Army, a plan rarely survives first contact with the enemy.
At least we can say they did what they could with these officers. They went in as soon as possible (from what we can see), they were coordinated, they weren't scared of the gun fire and in fact ran in that direction. God bless these police men.
Unlike Uvalde right? I gaurentee you if all schools had police officers present on school grounds during school hours, you’d see these Mads shootings drop pretty quickly! I guarantee it.
I watch a lot of police shootings and the amount of cross fire and flagging each other makes me cringe... none of that here though... this was excellent police work.
When actively engaging the shooter helps to not get scared.
Are you guys kidding me I can almost guarantee they were scared.. but it's called being brave, if you have no fear then you're not brave.
I do believe they was afraid but they knew this threat needed to be dealt with as soon as possible, so they nutted up and got to work and relied heavily on their training.
why would they be scared , it was a 1v5 or somethin
Incredibly emotional to watch !
That’s what REAL OFFICERS do !
So good to see the officers in Tennessee still have their balls !
Proud of them and I’m sure their families are very proud of how organized and what great communication they kept throughout this high stress moment.
I’m a teacher, and this was extremely emotional and traumatizing to watch. Sent me into tears. You always think it will never happen to your school, and then it does. 😢
The gunwoman was out in an open area and their were no children near her. The gunman in Uvalde was hidden away with a roomful of children. The police could not risk a stray bullet killing an innocent bystander.
@@MsJanetWoodwait so the gunman in uvalde had hostages?

So much admiration and respect for these guys. RIP to the students and adults.
I cringe at a lot of police videos but this was beautiful. There's nothing to criticize. Perfect leadership, corporation, communication no flagging or crossfire. Pure professionalism.
@Jonathan Taylor agreed. So much coordination, and the urgency they entered with was beautiful. I hate the circumstance that brought this about but this is amazing police work.
These officers are true heroes taking down that pathetic excuse for a human being. My heart breaks for all those that were lost. The fast actions taken by these guys truly saved so many more lives

Excellent composure from that teacher while informing the cops of what’s going on. Everyone here needs to be recognized for their bravery.
Not many officers would have started pushing right after hearing a series of shots being fired, that Officer literally started running towards the source to stop that person from killing more children. A real hero.
Rex Engelbert is a legend and bad mf'er. No hesitation, knew what needed to be done , and he got it done.
You can’t watch this without getting chills and tearing up. Great job officers. Prayers to the family 💙
i could. and i did
I did get chills and choked up. It wasn't thinking if it were my first grader in there either it was the sense of urgency in every move these guys made. It is so so sad that cops have to train counter terrorist situations and then they are in a school!!! But they did it right and they likely prevented other deaths, even if it were other cops in the fire line they kept it to a minimum and given this situation, that is the best possible outcome sadly.
I cried so hard, I feel so sorry for the poor little kids who had to hear the alarms and gunshots throughout their school 😭
You mean ❤️
You got that right. After being able to finally blink my eyes , I started to tear up. One because these are men that probably have families and they went in without any hesitation and took out the evil. Secondly just knowing that there were children murdered there .
This is what cops are supposed to do in situations like this. If you don't think you can do this, turn in your badge right now. Thank you officers for what you did there, and Rest in Peace to the innocent children and adults that died at the hands of this psychotic monster.
Yeah but why are they so slow?
@@fReAkNatha 3 minutes☠️
@@fReAkNatha please tell me you aren't serious
@@danielwoods3896 of course they did way much better than in uvalde but what i meant is that they were moving slowly... and yeah i know, it was only 3 mins...i cant explain very well what i meant🥺 if they had gone through every Single room like they did in the beginning it would have taken much more time.... you know what i mean?
@@fReAkNatha It's protocol to do that when they don't know the location of the shooter. The police have to check every room to ensure they don't bypass a threat that can then ambush them or escape. They only stopped the room-by-room clearing when they heard gunshots, which let them know precisely the location of the threat. Believe me, everything they did was the best possible work.
Officers, you deserve 1000% respect. So glad that in the midst of your own fear you didn’t hesitate, but put your lives on the line to save others. Thank you! Praying for the families who lost their loved ones.
These guys risk their lives every day and they deserve huge respect. RIP to the victims and condolences to their families.
How can you shoot kids? HOW?! With no hesitation these men went right in, clearing what they needed to then realizing where the shooter was & took action. My condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. 😢

Meanwhile Uvalde Police Department too scared to enter spooky school building during shootout.
@@johntravolta8389 I didn't want to say it, but we're all thinking it! These guys didn't hesitate for a second. It just makes the Uvalde response look like even worse, if that's even possible.
Why would the shooter change shoes after reaching the second floor and firing out of the windows you think? Different shoes on the shooter from school CCTV and bodycam footage. This video has the last 15 seconds clipped.
@@newanomalyproductions could be many reasons.
1. identification reasons.
2. really liked those shoes and wanted to steal them.
3. mobility reasons current shoes weighing you down or uncomfortable painfull etc.
Going into that is scary. The MVP is the guy leading his guy(s) from behind, telling them to push forward. It's easy to hesitate and stall. Having someone there to motivate you forward is crucial. A good boss cannot be undervalued.
Gun debate aside, this was absolutely admirable of these officers. Went in clear headed, and on mission. On scene and stopped in a matter of minutes. Absolute respect.
This officer was amazing. Was retaining info from that woman in the beginning and actively trying to get one more officer to go with him and the other. Protocol for advancing on a active mass shooter calls for 3 individuals. One clearing down range. One clearing flanks and one clearing the rear. I’m only 1 minute 9 seconds in and this guy was on his A game.
Man this is so disgusting as soon as I seen baby girl my heart shattered. How can somebody do such a thing. Thank you brave hero’s for defending our children and taking out this evil. More and more evil lurks on this earth it’s absolutely scary. Please everyone try your best to continue to be your best and do what is right. 💯
I know a bit of CQB clearing, and I can tell these guys were risking A LOT to get the shooter ASAP to prevent more damage. So much respect I cannot express myself correctly.
They did not waste time. I think the cowardly delay made by officers at Uvalde elementary school where so many children died will now prompt all officers in the future to act quickly. My deepest Condolences to those who have lost loved ones in this senseless tragedy and Respect to all those men and women out there who put their lives in harm's way to protect others.
You bet UVALDE was on their mind when they were doing this!!!
Police chased the Uvalde shooter into the school since he started his rampage outside of the school. They were fired upon through the barricaded door to the classroom The only way to return fire would be blindly through walls and a door when there was very reasonable suspicion of children in there. That is when they pulled back. When SWAT arrived, the shooting had stopped, so they thought they might have had a hostage situation. They finally got access and engaged the shooter upon entering a fatal funnel being the door to the classroom and took out the shooter. There was a recent case of an officer shooting blindly into a structure where that officer was charged with wanton endangerment.
Also Parkland Florida, Stoneman Douglas High School that resource officer just hide.
@@cornydad There's literally video of them standing around in the hallway as the shooter massacres kids. They knew every gun shot was another dead kid and they did NOTHING. You're not fooling anyone.

I have never cried, despite how sad I've been, about a school shooting until now. This is so incredibly terrifying and the fact that *it will keep happening* is devastating.
Me neither. I just imagine that little girl walking the hallway for some reason and seeing the shooter and sprinting to pull the fire alarm before she was taken down… the preachers daughter. Jesus. To have the knowledge to do that in that situation at her age is incredible. Rip darling.
These officers did an amazing job. True warriors and heroes. No waiting around for SWAT. No excuses. They just got the job done safely and effectively. None of the cops even flagged each other and perfect safety and trigger work by the officer with the AR15. This was basically a text book response and will be used to train police for years to come. Heartbreaking to see the blurred out image of that girl laying in the hallway. Cops simply have to walk by until threat is eliminated.
The only way to neutralize a threat is to engage it head on. Staying back only gives them more time to do damage. This is training at it's highest level. The suspect had no chance. Great work by these officers.
It's horrible. How seconds can feel like an eternity. Those poor babies and the poor adults, who died.
Lets be glad that they responded knowing every second counted! They didn't stand around doing nothing like those cowards in Uvalde, they ran toward the gunfire!
What a stressful situation. Alarms blaring, not knowing who's around a corner or behind a door. Then, the perp comes in view, & they fire. As much as all of us are glad it ended, one of those LEOs took a life. All of them will have this in their minds forever. Hope they get mental health support.

@Ernie H Because tactically it makes the most sense. Others were converging on the officer, if the officer sprinted to the door, it would be a "hurry up and wait" situation. Taking a few seconds to get organized is smart and necessary. But once they went in it was a full tilt press.
@Ernie H Are you serious? They were insanely aggressive. I am proud asf of these cops man, they arent just cops there warriors. As soon as they located the sounds they ascended.
